I chose age, and a quote by Mark Twain - "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter"
I started by spray mounting two pages together as the paper is so thin. This caused some wrinkles.. which go with the theme I guess!
I coloured the page with Wild Honey distress ink - the colour is much more even looking in real life, I promise! I used the Jo FirthYoung stencil round the edges, and London Bus Fresco paint, adding some highlights with Blood Orange and Claret, and then some Chalk (new colour)
the criss cross is also a new stencil (Crafters Workshop) - Walnut Stain distress ink. The flowers are a Memory Box die, coloured with Pan Pastels, adding some of the green around the criss cross patterns too.
I really do promise the colour is better blended that it seems! Linking to the Craft Barn Q&L challenge

Lovely Helen but I will have to re think my quote I sourced that same quote this am, pooh!!!! Joking!!!!
That's a fab page. I love the red flowers against the orange background & you got great texture with the stencilling.
Quick off the mark as usual Helen lol!
Fab everything, colours work really well together & that is a great quote:-)
Great page and the blending looks fine in the photos!I really love that new stencil too and the red flowers! I love the quote and that your page has wrinkles! Seriously though, don't you find this is such a difficult one with journals - what to do? I'm on the look-out for hints about wrinkle free page gluing. Perhaps some 'Age-defying' cosmetic used as an adhesive would do the trick!!! Ha ha! Julie Ann xxx
I love the way, you are building up and creating the pages! Thanks for the inspiration. :-)

Love those red flowers Helen! The pages are looking good!
Stunning pages Helen xxx
These are wonderful pages Helen and full of sunny optimism, lol! The flower border is beautiful and love the background (blending looks fine to me). Think I'll be broke just buying stencils at AP, lol!

I love the stencil that you used for the texture, and I also like that you stamp so many things on your page. I also went with AGE because all the DTs seemed to prefer Marriage. Yours is stunning, though. I really MUST learn to stamp (grin).
Oh Helen this is lovely I love the contrast between the background and the paper it is really nice x
Love the page Helen, the flowers look good against the background.

Love that walnut stain criss cross texture (oh, no, not another stencil for the wishlist...) and the flowers look amazing - especially those delicate die-cuts, just lovely! Beautiful wrinkly pages, Helen!

Love the quote and the way you have made such lovely pages. The new stencil looks like one of those "can't do with out' ones and using the walnut stain makes the perfect background for your beautiful flowers! Chrisx
Fabulous page, love the bright flowers against the wonderful background, great quote too.

Great page. I love the contrast of the poppy stencil against the background and allthe added details. Old Mark Twain was a clever old fellow - his quotes still resonate.
