WOYWW 591

Back to enabling for this week's WOYWW  desk fest... the link can be found here

I have been keeping my eye on the new Dina Wakley products hitting the stores and found a few so...

a couple of new stencils (one is a {Prima one)  and some of the new scripty collage tissue..  and some more of her paints..

I'd have got some of the new stamps but only saw them at Art From the Heart and they were having a few days off so I wasn't willing to wait, lol!

I also did some stamping over some leftover paint on a journal page..

scripty circles by France Papillon for Paperartsy.

3 different sizes...

just needs a focal point so a WIP for now!

Can anyone believe it is the end of September already?
the year is 3/4 over for goodness sake!!

I will leave you with the link to last weekend's  - very cold  - trip to Kew - cold but beautiful (am hoping that this week coming won't be as wet as it might appear to be from the forecast..)
at least I won't have to get up at 5.30 this week as it's back to winter opening hours

WOYWW 590

It's Wednesday... it must be WOYWW  - again...  already...  week 590.  Julia as always has the link at the stamping-ground  join in. link up and we'll all come to visit you soon.

I was writing this on Tuesday evening whilst watching Great British Bake Off which I love and at the same time finishing a journal page  that I started at the weekend -

I love this flower stencil from Donna Downey,  and think I've used it over a stencilled brick wall before...

shortly before Bake Off started, there was a broadcast by PM Boris (not going to be rude although I feel like it) pronouncing on COVID restrictions and knew I had some stencils that could add to my page (Stencil Girl designs by Seth Apter)

so added some sentiments and then the arrows were a last minute addition in  keeping with the words.

It feels we are going round and round in circles (there's an idea for the next page!!)  and the number of people you see who appear to think the rules don't apply to them... don't get me started!

Link to last weekend's trip to Kew for you as we all missed not having one last week!!

it is definitely becoming autumnal

I have slots booked for the next few weeks (so here's hoping they don't have to impose further restrictions on our freedom!

Catch you at your desk soon.  Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 589

It's happy desk day again - WOYWW 589 - time to share your crafty spaces - head to Julia's for all the info

With not having a morning at Kew I thought I'd have lots of time at the weekend to get some crafting done...

I had a couple of birthday cards to make....

I used the new "crazy waves" stencil I got last week, and the dancing hares die (Tim Holtz)
for the first one

and the Dina Wakley stamp set for the second one

Then I turned my attention to my journal

my new Kew membership card arrived at the weekend and was in a lovely envelope covered in pictures of allium beds at Kew and other images - sadly the Palm House on the front cover was on the reverse of the alliums and I couldn't work out how to use both

the alliums won and I repeated the crazy waves stencilling in the background and then added some flowers stencilled over the top

the green flaps were used for the hares in the birthday card
I still haven't rectified the journal page from last week... maybe next week!

so although i didn't get to go toKew last week, you still get a glimpse!

WOYWW 588

I am not starting by saying.. it's Wednesday again!  But it is time to join in with Julia and the gang at the Stamping-Ground for WOYWW

I started another journal page on Sunday but messed it up  so I'm only sharing the first steps!

maybe by next week I'll have thought of something to cover up the stage I don't like!

I was lying in bed on Sunday morning watching you-tube, as I do;  and saw a video with some fabulous new Dina Wakley goodies.   When I got up I went shopping.... although the new goodies I'd seen weren't yet available I did have a mini splurge!

To my surprise I got home from work on Monday to find a "despatched" email and they came to work today (prepping this on Tuesday as usual)

I'd have got more only I thought I'd better wait for the new release as there are several great stamp sets I really liked!

I had a beautiful time at Kew last Saturday - took loads of photos (more than usual) as the early autumn - and it did feel like autumn on Saturday - light was staggeringly beautiful

the post is here  and here are the normal teasers!

this one really made me smile! (and yes, I know, it's not over his nose!)

I am thrilled that new blogger seems to have learnt the size I like my photos as they have been loading ready sized to the right option!

I am not going to take advantage of my booked slot this week as there is a fun run thing going on and anyone else isn't allowed in till 11am  and that 's too late for me - will be too crowded both on the train and at Kew so I'm giving it a miss.

I'll be round to check out your desks and crafty inspiration when I can (another busy week at work! so not getting much in the way of a break at lunchtime)

WOYWW 587

Bank Holidays are all very well but I am sure Wednesdays come round faster when there is a Bank Holiday in the week!  So we find ourselves sharing our crafty spaces again with Julia for WOYWW

I managed to have some play time in my journal at the weekend

Distress oxide sprays for the background and inks for the stencilled circles before over stamping the circle designs

various layers of stamping in the background too

more circles, stencilled with texture paste (Golden fibre paste)

the weather where I am wasn't great for the weekend but of course I did go to Kew -link here

it was a funghi type of day on Saturday!
one of my favourite views at the lake at Kew

tickets booked for the next 4 weeks!

happy WOYWW - see you soon!
