Inspired (and contributions from) Darcy for Paperartsy

This week saw Darcy's final Guest Designer projects for the Paperartsy blog - and what amazing stunning wonderful projects they were. I am sure you have all seen them - but if not, check them out here, here here here and here  and if you're quick you stand a chance of winning a bumper prize for naming the giraffe - possibly the most amazing thing I have ever seen in blog-land!!

I haven't been feeling quite right this week and whilst I was keen to try out various of the projects Darcy made, time wasn't on my side.  Then a couple of days ago, after the giraffe was unveiled, I was lucky enough to win a quick twitter give-away of some of the paper cast flowers Darcy made for the giraffe's spots.  They arrived this morning....

I debated how to use them, I could have added them to a tag, but that seemed a bit tame. In the end, I took Darcy's first project, to make colour combination cards with Fresco paints, and my journal... though I did use the excess on a tag too!

I took Ice Blue, Limelight and South Pacific, and scraped them down the page....
and across the page to fill it

didn't need to go multi-directional on the tag!!

here are the flowers and leaves Darcy sent me - so grateful as I would never have had time to try to make some of my own!! (nor do I have the space...but that's a feeble excuse too!)

I sprayed the flowers with Cherry Pie Dylusional ink and then painted them with Blood Orange Fresco paint.

Faffed about with some Snowcap too on one, didn't really like that much after all...luckily my brush was still a bit painty so that rectified that ok.   The leaves I sprayed with Melted Chocolate Dylusion, then painted Old Gold Fresco

Added some Treasure Gold in White Fire (flowers) and Aztec Gold and Renaissance (leaves)

Stamped the corresponding flowers on the journal, so I had some stems for them to stand on, and the words from JoFY 11

Do check out Darcy's posts, they are simply staggeringly gorgeous.
