Anyhow, what is on my workdesk-on-the-floor today? (ok, you know me now, Tuesday night?) Not a lot, not a lot. My lovely craft spinner is just off to the top right, there are some gaps in it, need to buy more blending tools! But I've been good this week, not bought anything new at all!
Ok, back to the "desk". A couple of reject bits of torn paper from Hels' Sunday Stampers challenge and a half done coaster I was going to use said torn paper on.... no, twas no good so had to start again.
The newspaper cutting I saw in the paper this morning and I thought I could use it for - something - so cut it out to bring home. Now it's all crumpled (you may well ask why I didn't leave cutting it out till I got home - yes, I thought of that, but also knew I'd just forget and chuck the paper in the recycling before I remembered.... call it old age!)
So, as there isn't anything very interesting today, I've opened another drawer I don't think has been famous before - my script stamp drawer (apart from the ones that don't fit and are on the (one of the) overflow piles on the
I love the one bottom right in the drawer - it's gorgeous! (it's by A Stamp in the Hand).
Oh, I'm thinking of buying a Big Shot - of those of you who have one, are they worth it? Are they easy to use? (I won't be getting the electric one!) Would love to hear your thoughts.
Okey-dokey, that's me for today. Can't wait to see what you all have got on show today, so I'm off for a hop! Happy Wednesday, girls.

Thanks for showing
xx
Just love all those script stamps, lucky you. I've had a big shot for around 4 years and wouldn't be without it, although I would recommend the electric one. Having used both, the electric one wins hands down.
Wow, what gorgeous script stamps...very jealous!!! x
You're a very tidy worker.
Big Shot...hmmm...its ok...it does what it promises and does it well...all depends whether you would use those bits and bobs. Good to have one 'just incase'. Its one of those things that I thought would open up all sorts of avenues for me but my style doesnt really bend to die cutting or embossing as much as I'd thought it might lol.
Do you know considering that I don't do much altery-y or TH style stuff, I have a bit of a thing for newspaper cuttings - but have none as lovley as this..good find! We share a passion for script too - sadly I spot two I haven't got!
oh wow just adore those stamps, gosh they are so beautiful,I hope you get your big shot I do not have one of those yet,but heard the electric one is brilliant, hugs cheryl xxxxxxx
Hi Helen, I have a BigShot and I quite like mine especially as I am using the Tim Holtz Alterations dies quite a bit. It does what it's supposed to and its simple and that's what I like, simple LOL. Great desk this week and love those stamps. Tracy Evans x
I have practically no stamps, but I always look at script stamps whenever I'm at a stamp store. They have that certain appeal. Hope to see more of your "floor" next week. Happy WOYWW.
your script stamps look very pretty indeed thanks for sharing your desk :)
Wow! all those fabulous script stamps! The Big Shot wins hands down every time for me. I also have an Express which is fantastic has I have wrist problems.
love your stamp drawer, that one bottom right is gorgeous. I have the big shot, wouldn't be without it. i also have a cricut which is great too, but i would never get rid of my big shot.
beautiful stamps! I recently bought a sizzix...I think it would be worth the money if I used it more often lol. It's definitely easy to use, and really neat. Overall...Yes, it's probably worth it if you give it the love it deserves :P
I so recognize that "I might use it, let's save it" mentality =). I have a cuttlebug and that works for me, though the big shot is prettier =)
Big Shot vs Cuttlebug - thats a tough one... I was a Cuttlebug fan through and through - love its poratability and that it suckers to the table when its doors are open and it very versatile.... and then I bought a Big Shot... and it does everything that the Cuttlebug does but smoother and it feels a bit more sturdier. So, I'm converted to the Big Shot (or bertha as mine is now called) BUT I won't through my bug out- they'll just work along side each other. ooh and cost of dies is another consideration - sizzix work out a little more expensive but the die is deeper so will cut through more stuff.... oooh its swings and roundabouts...
I hope my little bit of input has helped in some way... good luck with choosing...
J
ooh sorry back to your desk - very nice - love the drawers!
J
Hi H, yes get a big shot I totally recommend it (if you don't know I have my own designer die cuts shop and design my own dies too and Garry does all the cutting Die cut Dreams) we have 3 big shots and they are brilliant
Sizzix have just bought out the new Big shot Pro (which is what you read that I got for Garry)its a really big one !!! but if your just starting out I think a normal big shot is what you need, you can't go wrong they cut most dies. If you're looking at where to buy it check out "Cutting edge crafts" they have great prices and free post to I always use them
Well good luck
Hugs Susie xx
That is a fabulous newspaper cutting, and the more crumpled the better... it's distressed!! I have a bug, but on the Artsy Crafts weekend we used the big shot. It's bigger, so that might be a consideration if space is a problem. Apparently it cuts through metal better than the bug, although I have used the bug with nesties and it seems to work fine. Not much help really, am I? lol
Morning hun what better way to come over and have alook in your draws...lol.As for Big shot prefer it to cuttlebug by miles wouldnt be without it and im even thinking of getting the electric one so may have one for sale .
Have great wednesday pop by as i have some candy on offer today for WOYWW.
hugs jude:)
I am a better keep it ... may come in handy type too :0)
I spy my script stamp in your drawer LOL. Wish I had all the others in there too. Luv Joanne xx
LOVE that cutting ....brilliant ...so useful . I also want your stamps ...all I kept exclaiming was OOOOW ...as I scanned the contents of your drawer
Hiya
Love your script draw you have loads of them stamps! lol. I am a cuttlebug girlie although I have been differing for a long time on whether I need a big shot, and now the tim holtz dies are around I am considering it a little more :O) eventually I will own one lol.
Joey.xxx
I love how you have a drawer for just scripty stamps..that shows a true dedication to stamping LOL Have a great day hun x
Fab script stamps Helen :) Couldn't leave a comment last week, was having probs
Anne xx
I love your stamps they look lovely! I had a cuttlebug and then hubby bought me the electric big shot which is great as I use it alot and it saves my arm from aching! Hope you have a great week! Tracey x
Hi Helen, I have a Cuttlebug but did have a Bigshot, I sold it to a friend and have regretted it ever since. They are great for larger dies and they do give a clear cut image.
Love your drawer full of scrummy stamps, so tidy!
Thanks for showing us all,
hugs heidi xx
Helen Script stamps are lovely.I have a couple-but not as lovely as yours.I own a wizard and this is because I needed something sturdy after wearing out the original Sizzix and breaking a Zip e mate (no longer available)but the Wizard does take some getting used to. Don't have any huge dies so can't say if they go through ok but it won't take the really long ones that go in the tiny thing-duh can't think what it's called. Then there's Mr Big The Accucut Mark IV but I did get that before the little ones came along and it isn't very cost effective for me LOL Hugs BettyXXX
Try to actually use some before you buy.
I can't believe you scrap on the floor! My back would be killing me LOL.
MMM, just looking at that desk with script stamps makes your head go creative!
Greetz,
Evi
That cutting is great and I love your drawer of stamps, I have a Cuttlebug and I love it if that helps...

I love script stamps too. Love the colours on the discarded coaster.
Love your draws!! (of stamps!!) I have the'old' big shot, they turned black and pink about a month after I got mine (from mum for my birthday) it's been fabulous!! Just wish there was something closer that sold all the things you can buy for it,and show me what it can do, because |I only have a few die cuts... it also cuts other dies too, (nesties extra) I haven't got the proper add on whatever it is, but use extra card and it works fine
Have a crafty day
((Lyn))
I was about to ask you who made that stamp, thanks! It's gorgeous.
I love my cuttlebug xx
Stamps drawer looks fabulous!! Don't have the BigShot but may have to invest in the electric one use it in craft class and in fandabbydozie!!!! Love Chanelle xx
Am thinking I need all my script stamps in one drawer now!! I'm sure I have some wooden ones I haven't used in ages! Great cutting too! xx
That script stamp looks gorgeous! And I love the bit you've cut out of the newspaper - I never think to look for things like that! x
Oh my those script stamps make me drool! Patsy from
HeARTworks

OMG .. I need them beautiful stamps ... soooo much .. honest i do!

Thanks for opening your drawers and letting me have a peek....your stamps are lovely. Hope you manage to rescue the newspaper.
Big shot....go for it. I have had mine a while and its a real bonus.
Tracey
My craft spinner is so jammed with stuff I need another one! Love your floor (I craft on the floor a lot too - cause my desk is such a mess!)
Mary Anne
OH, that box of stamps is making me drool! LOL!
love the stamps. Don't know much about big shot ,I have a cuttlebug and am quite happy with that. Hugs Pam x
My script stamps are faves too. I think we have a few in common Helen!! I am a new owner of a big shot. It seems to cut better than my bug with dies. There is better pressure and I think it's more even. I tend to use the bug to emboss and mr big to cut. You *need* them both!! Lol. Leandra
Love script stamps, but I don't have enough to devote a whole DRAWER to them. lol. I have the Big Kick, which is the same thing as the Big Shot. I love it. Cutting, embossing (metal, too!). One of the essential tools I have, I think.
oh no...i have to have that stamp now...its divine!
and re the big shot...i couldn't live without mine...and now we have dies by the one and only sir tim...:0)
Love these stamps ! Have had a Big Shot for a couple of years, and love it.

Love your script stamps, they are gorgeous.
I'd thoroughly recommend a Big Shot - I've had a manual one for years and it is very easy to use.
The stamps look great. Pity I have no clue how to use stamps!
TFS
Fab script stamps - and it looks like you need a Big Shot judging by the comments!! Wipso & Twiglet
I do love a nice script stampand they are NICE!!!

Chrissie
I would love to have a play with your script stamp drawer!
Hiya Helen
the stampers supermarket is an online store, who also are at some craft fayres
Joey.xxx
Hi Helen, what a very tidy floor oh sorry desk. Love all of those script stamps, gorgeous.
Pat xx
Thanks for the snoop, I would highly recommend the big shot (I pretty much have all of the machines) and I tend to use just the Big Shot these days - I have the very, very, old and original turquoise and black one, but the new ones also look great and come with the tabbed cutting plate for working with Nesties and other thin dies too. I would have to say that if I had a choice I would have the electric one (Jen has just got one), but only because I cut out lots and lots on it and it would make my life easier, but for general use the hand one is fine.
Go for it girl!!!
Loved the snoop in your stamp drawers Helen. I don't have a Big Shot so I can't comment but I'm happy to share yours! *Ü* TFS. ~Glen~
Wow, that stamp drawer is so neat and you sure have some fine stamps!
