I was so keen to try this week's Play Date challenge - red, brown and linen - but when I sat down to start it, I got lost. I wanted to use this frame but the texture I added just wouldn't work - I've changed it 3 times (yes, on the same - my only - frame!!) So it doesn't really look anything like I first envisaged. Although the problem is really, that I didn't plan it properly first.... I should have abandoned it but I don't like giving up.
I used - eventually - Viva Ferro paste in iron, Claudine Hellmuth Traditional Tan paint for the linen - and the Prima flowers - the small ones I added fired brick DI over the base white flowers. I ddin't have a photo for the middle so stamped this Impression Obsession lady . Then I had my usual trouble scanning it - the frame is FAR too thick for my scanner, and too much light got in round the edges, so apologies. I did try trying to highlight the area I wanted to scan, but it wasn't working today!
Have got some other challenges I wanted to do today, but I think I'll have a rest - and a cup of tea, if it's not stone cold - it's obviously one of those days.

Scanners have quite a harsh light I find.....and of course there is the issue with dimensional pieces like yours.....don't you just love it when things don't go the way you planned!!! :( ;)

Being a crafter has it's ups and downs but well done you for sticking with it hun
Love Dawn xx
That happens to me all the time...in fact, it took me two long hours to complete the simplest card last night...I am going to post it to my blog AND I will share my creative road block with my readers...
I am glad you did the same because we have ALL been there.
Now...I THINK this is a great use of the colors, so I am glad you shared it with us!
We appreciate the support you have given to our challenge each week!
I think this came out beautifully - love the textures you've achieved, and great use of the three colors in the challenge!
At least with a scanner you can get an image on a dark day or at night. I've just gone back to the scanner for journal pages and was really pleased with the colours!
Glad you persevered with this piece, and shared it. Isn't that ferra paste fab?! Have you tried stamping in it? You just wet the stamp and press it into the terra.
Great combination of texture. Thanks for playing at the Play Date Cafe :)
I really like this! I love the structure you have made with the paste!
Hanne
