WOYWW 744

Happy Wednesday, deskers.  time for another day desk hopping with Julia

once again there's not a lot been going on, but I started another couple of journal pages

neither anywhere near finished

and I prefer the one on the right, as the left page didn't go quite how I (didn't) planned.
there's a layer of stencilling under the top layer that didn't work (no photos)  so it got covered up

we'll see what happens next!

and because I have't shared the mass of boxes for a while here they are once again.

the 4 big (no, 5, I can't count) all have Paperartsy stamps in
behind that are my original storage boxes - double stacked - all with my wood mounted stamps in. (apart from the other boxes elsewhere in the room....)

it all needs a good sorting out, but it's the kind of job you can't start unless you can finish as it will get worse before it gets better... so best to leave it as is!!

Saturday was of course, Kew

I'm sure you can tell this is a sunflower
gorgeous colours.

this coming Saturday we can't get in till 11 am as it's the second of the year's half marathons run in the gardens and given that the day is meant to be really really hot that is a pain!
I'll probably still go though!

Thanks for dropping by, happy WOYWW and see you soon.
Julia is away so has published early so I  am linking early.

WOYWW 419

Another week has flown by with nothing done craft-wise in between desk posts. But once again it is time to share my desk today with the lovely Julia

On Saturday I got home from the hairdresser's to find a box on the doorstep.. well tucked by the step and the wheelie bin..
it was a very little box (I know you can't get the sense of scale from the photo) - I was expecting something, but was a bit surprised at the small-ness of the box!
some Jane Davenport washi tape.. the flat packet is described as "sheets" of tape and although they didn't break the bank, I was kind of expecting them to be bigger...
the rolls of tape, 7 different ones, all with faces, and different widths, had also appealed to me!

This brand is only newly available in the UK and I know that it is quite a pricey one anyway..
Time will tell if I get anything else from the range..
I really really missed going to Kew last weekend (not that I'd have been able to go anyway had I not had the hair appointment, due to weekend engineering works on the train) ... I think the lack of a long walk in the fresh air contributed to me being bored on Sunday and couldn't settle to anything crafty.

I did get round to putting together the top 2 boxes in this tower of boxes...
they have big poppers (that you can possibly see on the front), so fit together quite easily... They come from The Works... two for £10

These 4 boxes hold my Paperartsy stamps - there were previously in just the bottom 2, but I have spread them out a bit as they were getting a bit crushed and some of the stamps were getting damaged... so now they have room to breathe (and I have ready made space for new ones... which are being released this week.... guess who's already been shopping!)

no progress has been made on the journal page from last time; even though I still don't think it's finished.

I did put some washi tape (no idea where this one came from!) on the last page in the book... and there it has sat, again...

So that's me for this week... will be hopping along to your desks soon.

Happy WOYWW!

I will be going to Kew this weekend (weather permitting) so stand by for more photos!

WOYWW 404 when life gives you lemons..

There should be new stuff but it's still on the way, so it will be here next week...
(I did a bit of online ordering after getting home from the work office launch party on Friday!)
the launch went well, quite a few clients turned up, we drank champagne (hence the online shopping!) and ate canapes but stood for 7 hours on the Friday and another 4 on Saturday...poor feet!  poor legs!!

However, one of my crafting Facebook friends alerted us to a good deal on lemons at Morrisons (UK supermarket if you're from out of town)  - £1 for a kilo.... and they come in a fabulously sturdy box... she bought 3, several other of my friends have bought 3, 4 5 or more...look.  of course I don't really want the lemons, just the boxes!!

I was very restrained, only got the 1, (so far) as I don't use many lemons, and aim to do some decorating of them at some stage (was going to say, the weekend, but no doubt that won't happen!)
and once you take the lid off you can probably tell the size a bit better... (it held 6 lemons to give you more of an idea!)
and in case you were wondering, under the lemon box is another part done journal page (latest Paperartsy challenge topic, is infusions, so that's what I'm playing with here)

used a couple of the new colours that I got at Stevenage a few weeks ago.

thanks for your visits and I'll reciprocate when I can   nearly forgot the linky link

WOYWW 392 - the little pile is growing..

Not a lot happening on my floor today, (well Tuesday night) but I did crack on with the card production at the weekend...
it's Wednesday and time to share our workspaces at Julia's once more..
I was having a chat on Twitter on Sunday morning (early) and ended up getting out of bed to count up how many cards I had made and how many I needed... cue immediate get up (I can't craft in my pj's!) and got on with it...

this is the result - the total, didn't do all these on Sunday, that would have been pushing it!  but the pile on the right is Sunday's

I think I need about another 8 or so...
so not bad.  I bought the stamps on Saturday... anyone want to write them for me?  Plus, who's doing my gift shopping for me???

as the workmat is bare, this is a side look at the storage area (the tidy one!)
the box with the tube map on is full of Paperartsy stamp sets (and so is the spotty one underneath it....) and the little box to the left is full of Paperartsy mini stamps... the two transparent boxes hold Fresco paints (and some Pebeos) and the blue box under that, other paints... the wooden boxes behind that are double deed and hold my wood mounted stamps, and the coloured drawers hold all kinds of ink pads (old ones!)
Most of you have seen this shot before, but probably not for a while..
The cold is more or less gone, that wasn't too bad, the cough is of course lingering and driving me mad!

I probably won't have much time for desk visiting till about Friday, as it is the work office Christmas do on Thursday (an early afternoon tea then an evening meal, all up in London somewhere - will let you know next week!)  so Wednesday night will be spent getting ready.  or snoozing on the sofa like normal.... so I'll see you soon.

WOYWW 375 from one extreme to the other..

well what can I say??  Wednesday again (already) time to link with Julia at the Stamping Ground
.. but lots more to show today! (Paperartsy keep releasing new stuff!)

so this was what I was waiting for last week!
have even had a play with some of the stamps - finished the journal page from last week (didn't paint over it!
some of you saw it when I linked it for the Paperartsy challenge.
I didn't go outside the front door at the weekend, no trip to Kew this week, just binge-Olympics... but did do a bit of clearing/moving/cleaning ( yes, I know...)
Opened the big storage boxes I got from the Works a few weeks ago (quite disappointed actually, they "pop" together with press-studs but both boxes have one that is a little out of alignment so don't click shut properly... hey ho!

Anyway I have put the to use with my Paperartsy A5 plates in stead of the previous boxes, and moved a few things around... devotees of my room may spot what's changed!

let me see if I can find an old photo, hang on...
well this sort of show shows it looked ...

and then on Saturday Paperartsy released some new JoFY stamps - oh me oh my!

8 new minis and 2 large sets (see, I was restrained,I only got 6 of the minis!!!!)

they arrived today (oops, Tuesday) at work and in time for their debut on the desk today!
now to log them in the catalogue and hopefully ink them up!

(you can also see my little (A6) journal in which I've been playing with my Stampotiques I got a few weeks ago - who says I don't use my stuff!!)

sorry I kept you so long, will let you go and desk hop some more now.

WOYWW 363

Hello again and welcome to another Wednesday desk hopping fun with Julia    for a time whilst she's off having a break before her big op, the link is here with the lovely LunchLady Jan

I was walking past The Works on Saturday and saw these collapsible storage boxes

You can never have too many storage boxes so I grabbed a couple...
two for £10, not bad!  I couldn't resist the one with the Hungry Caterpillar on, and the London Tube map was my second choice..

there "may" be an order on it's way from Artist Trading Post too... or there will be when they finishing moving house and can get back to packing orders...

The journal page is another one I've been working on with Paperartsy Infusions
like the one in the previous post.
it's not finished yet, will show you when I have though.

I'll get to as many of your desks as I can only Liverpool are playing Sevilla in the Europa cup final tonight so I'll be a bit distracted and more than possibly a bit late..

WOYWW 345

It's Wednesday (well it will be when this publishes..) and that means it's time for another snoop at our workspaces... the Stamping Ground is the place for the info/linky

Despite my taking part in the the Everything Art "Wanderlust" course, there isn't a lot happening on my workspace this week... I have, though,  "re-purposed" an empty hamper that wasn't wanted at work...

it came from Fortnum and Mason's at Christmas and my boss persuaded me to have the empty hamper... I resisted for a while, but in the end couldn't say no!

it opens nicely with a couple of leather buckles and is a nice size as you can see...
No idea what I'll store in it yet, or where it will go when I decide what to put in it... as you can tell I am seriously running out of space!

But, too nice to turn down and certainly too nice to throw away!

Hopefully by next week I'll have completed (started!) my second week's project for Wanderlust and there may even be some art to share for you!
I spent much of the weekend watching Periscopes (live phone/video streaming ) from CHA, the trade show in the States, (became somewhat addicted; another reason not much art got made!) looking at all the new products that are being launched soon... my poor wallet!  Didn't catch sight of our own Neet who was visiting the show though.

WOYWW 334 - ribbon sorting galore!

Hello, deskers!  I am actually writing this and taking the necessary desk shots in daylight, as I have the day off (it's Tuesday as I'm writing ) after the weekend in Glasgow - check here and here for the write up... Anyhow, welcome to the WOYWW marathon for another week  I'll be back at work then!

the dreadful looking orange and purple tag on the workmat is meant to be for the swap on Saturday..not sure yet if it will make it!

I had to pop out shopping on Tuesday morning, and found a storage box that I thought might fit all my ribbons into....
because this one is quite full.... and I have just bought that 100 metre bundle of sari ribbon... no way is that fitting in there.
no, in the end, it didn't all fit in one... I put all the reels into the new box, together with some colour co-ordinated zip bags for the loose ribbons..

and the original box has the bundles that are on the cardboard holders you can buy them on at some shows.. the sari ribbon and the fibres I got at the weekend which I had meant to store somewhere else (but not sure where!) had to go in another box altogether!
so that meant having to shift things around on the top of the Ikea stamp boxes somewhat!!

Now I have got to think of what I'm going to bring with me to the crop on Saturday - will try and travel light!!

WOYWW 326 - a wet Bank Holiday

Not sure where the week went to (again!) and it's September too... shorter days and dark mornings... autumn is on the way!  it's time for another WOYWW
Last week at work a client sent us a hamper of wine and food to say thanks - we shared the contents out but my eyes were on the hamper... of course!
Nice, isn't it?

and I reorganised a couple of boxes of packets of bling and chipboard bits and pieces...
and here it is, in situ!  it does get a bit in the way of the keyboard but I've pushed it over a bit now!
so, the wet Bank Holiday yesterday (oops, the day before on Monday I mean) - I met up with a couple of (nonWOYWW) friends in Richmond, London... close to me but I've never been..it would have been  better in the sunshine of course!
but we had a good time!
it the Thames always looks good!
of course a little shopping had to be done (Tiger, a mixed kind of shop but some decent craft items were found...) Wasn't sure if the roll of tape measure tape was paper or plastic (the latter) but only £1 and it will make great background features, and the house shaped candle I have an idea for already!
Alphabet stamps - you can never have too many!

Glad you enjoyed my guessing game last week.. one of you was quite close... but you won't find out till the weekend!

So that's my desk - well, not much of a desk of course, but I'll see you at Julia's for some more desk hopping.

WOYWW 322.. the post stamp show edition

Hello deskers, welcome back to the desk sharing  What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday .. week 322 .  Head Desker Julia has the details here

So, Sunday saw me getting up very early (for a Sunday) (no, strike that, for any day) and setting off to Stevenage.  Met up with friends and chatted, shopped, watched demonstrations (Paperartsy), chatted; shopped and chatted...
I've blogged fully here but this is the haul in closer detail just for you guys!!
some Prima casts (ideal for painting and mixed media projects) a new brayer (you should see the state of the one I use for paint!) couple of stencils, a spare set of flexiblocks (acrylic mounts for stamps, love them) and some sanding blocks
a few (more) new Paperartsy stamp sets, love love love, and a couple of packs of tissue
my Fresco paint storage.  someone in a group I'm in on FB asked about our paint storage, and I thought I'd add it in here too.

Finally, the reason you're here... the "desk"... took a low viewpoint today... down as low as I could (not a good idea, took it right after finishing dinner...)

there isn't much room for lying down in the doorway where I took this from, (boxes of stuff, doncha know!) but not showed it from this angle before!!

Enjoy your WOYWWednesday!!

WOYWW? 299

Morning/afternoon/evening... welcome back for another desk-hopping extravaganza... if you want to know all about it,Julia's Stamping Ground is the place to start..
Now, I know you are all expecting new stuff again this week... but I've been let down by deliveries not being sent when they should have, lol!!   Waiting for some pre-ordered stamps that should have arrived by now and are only just on the way, and something from Amazon that is coming from the States so also isn't here yet (even though in both cases, friends who ordered the same things at the same time already have theirs... so NOT fair, ha ha!!)

so instead, I've opened another box...
This is a box of papers next to the end of the sofa, (there is another one underneath this...) and as you can see, it's a bit full...there are lots of plastic wallets in this and indeed the one underneath, all labelled... but, also lots of loose things too...
I don't use much of what's in here (and there's stuff dumped on top, inevitably so it's a right palaver to get into )

the papers I do tend to use, are in the plastic concertina wallet in front of the box, and are mostly Tim Holtz but not all... these are the 12 x12 ones... smaller pads are elsewhere..

the plastic tubs with the bright lids, down by the side of the sofa, are tubs of glitter... just in caseyou were wondering!

to put the other pictures into context a bit, here's a final slightly wider angle shot..showing even more stuff!
There is no hope, obviously...
See you all soon.

WOYWW? 294 - more blue boxes..

Welcome back for another Wednesday tour of desks and other weird workspaces.. the place to go for all the info is here at Julia's The Stamping Ground.
Glad you all liked rummaging through the box of stamps last week... and as requested here are the other two...
so, next to where I sit uncomfortably at the computer, are the other two large blue boxes... which as you see, provide a handy extra flat space for more stuff (stuff which is much tidier since my mini sort-out at the start of the year)  and which I see also has on it something you shouldn't be seeing till later... oh well, I can't be faffed to take the picture again!!  (wonder if any of you will guess what it is..)
Those of you who've been following me longest, will probably realise from this photo, just how much extra space there is here, down by the side of the boxes!!

anyhow, the bottom box, holds stamps. lots of stamps... I do sometimes use some of these, but not as often as the box I opened last week...
I think I will move the boxes around a bit soon...

and the top box holds all kinds of stuff - buttons, flowers, sprays (can't remember the last time I used these ones, I bet they're all clogged up!!) the wooden box is an old one of Mum's with some of her old buttons in (my sister in law who sews, got the proper button box I think!) ... I tried to move some of the stuff so you could see more of the contents...

I did finally have some happy happy mail last week -
my Tower of London poppy!   I have no idea how they decided what order to send them out in,you would have thought, wouldn't you, that they would go in order of when people bought them... but no!! I ordered mine the first day they went on sale, and was order no 419... but still, it's here, it's beautiful and is waiting for me to decide where to display it!!

I played a game every time I went to see them in situ in London, "which one is mine" and still wonder!
anyhow, I must let you go, Julia will be telling me off for prattling on so long... Happy WOYWW!!
