I am running out of witty ways to start my lockdown WOYWW posts... Like so many of you I haven't been "out" for weeks - 19th March is when I started working from home and once a week shopping....
Let's just jump straight in, it is Wednesday and the day of the week where we share our crafty spaces with Julia at the Stamping-Ground and our friends....
I had an accident on Saturday.... I was heading outside to sit and read and enjoy a cup of tea....
I managed to drop my phone.... at the time of writing - I am waiting for the local phone repair outlet - which is fortunately open as it doubles as a vape shop - to get a new screen in - it's due in today Hopefully that will cure it (at the moment I can't get the screen to turn on although I can hear notifications and things so it's not completely wrecked .....)
I made a couple of birthday cards for some friends in early May which I've got in the post ahead of time due to delays that are understandably experienced and I am going to take a risk and share them here as although they are both crafters, they aren't deskers... and so probably won't see this.
I used as the background the painty masterboard I had made some weeks ago
I am still waiting for my crafty goodies too, that I ordered the weekend before last.. although as I am prepping this ahead of time I may be able to edit this post! They are on the way so sat in a sorting office somewhere I suppose...
Continue to stay safe, stay home and save lives... we mustn't give up now. I do enjoy the photos of the walks some of you (us) have been able to enjoy - and am every envious of the beautiful places you live... it just isn't pretty round here!! But don't stop sharing them.

Happy WOYWW. What caught my eye about those fab birthday cards was the stamping on the envie behind! I love a decorated envelope. Hope your new craft stash arrives soon. I am waiting for a parcel, not sure whether it will be sent by Royal Mail or a courier, and tend to hover around the front of the house every afternoon when the postman normally visits us! We are definitely lucky to be living on the farm at the moment. I walk in one of the fields close to the house normally 3 times per day. The empty skies is what really stands out for us (normally the transatlantic flights are going over all day). Stay safe. Ali x #1
Morning Helen. I haven't been out of the house for two weeks even for a walk (unless you count from the back door to the shed) and can honestly say that I am not missing the outside world that much. I am getting through my school work on my work days and crafting or watching TV on my days off. Hope your delivery arrives soon. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
Hope they can fix your screen quickly.... I would struggle with a cracked screen as I waste so much time on pinterest and instagram "ohh and aching" over other peoples work. Actually it might be good for me LOL. Lovely birthday cards and I do like the idea of master boards. Makes so much sense. Stay safe and keep crafting.

It was 3rd March for me, they day of the threatening text from my GP, I'll probably keep that one for posterity. I wouldn't say I'm exactly going stir crazy as the weather has helped no end, but my mojo remains absent. How some footie would help, at this stage I might even watch MU and Chelsea, now that is sad!!

I have been out, walking, working, gardening so i dont feel so isolated, however i do miss my friends that I normally socialise with.
That sucks about your phone, hope you get it fixed real soon, we are so used to having our phones its like a part of us
Stay Safe

Brenda’s comment made me laugh, I bet some footie would help a lot of people! Totally feel your pain about the phone screen, did it to my iPad about a month ago, ended up buying a new one and saving the old in a ziplock bag for when I can find a screen replace place that is open. Its so frustrating isn’t it, especially that you can hear the pings and dings but not act on them. Are you in Twitter withdrawal! Love those birthday cards, and hey, what a great change in style! Really they do show how useful a master board is and how well it can be used. You’re doing well in lockdown gal, I know it looks as if every other person lives somewhere vast and nicer, but they don’t, to each person it’s home. And this home is rejoicing in yesterday’s rain because it’s dampened the pervasive smell of pigs and slurry!! All the years I’ve lived here and I still get offended!!
Hope the accident was not to bad and hope you get a new screen and the phones okay again, Two great cards have never thought about doing a master board, must give it a try

Hi Helen, sorry to hear about your phone! What a pest... I hope it gets repaired quickly. The birthday cards are great - well done! I can’t actually remember the last time I left the house or where I was going. I haven’t missed it that much, although I would love to go on some outings with my hubby, maybe to some National Trust places again. I hope the lockdown ends before the summer is out!
Happy WOYWW,

Oh wow Helen, you certainly made a mess of that, bet you were annoyed with yourself but it can be mended I'm sure. Nice cards too. I've seen some of the sunsets you photograph and the place where you live looks pretty stunning to me. Try looking at it with different eyes, you'll be surprised what you find. I have a love of red brick, front doors and roof patterns. But then there are those that think I'm mad lol! If you're lucky enough to have any Victorian houses near you have a look at the gorgeous window designs too. Take care and have a happy woyww, Angela x15x
Shame the phone has not been fixed, I bet you have missed it a lot.
Lovely cards helen, loving the "Don't" bit especialoy.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx
OOPS..!! Hope you can get it fixed soon Helen, i've seen many a broken phone screen in this house, my youngest Son seems to test how much every new phone he has ever owned can bouncy. Good to hear there is someone local & open to deal with it. I do love your DON'T break the rules card great composition.

Fingers crossed you get the phone sorted soon - a fairly essential piece of kit at the moment! Lovely cards, yes I've been sending mine out well early because of the post but my recent purchases have all come pretty swiftly. Some I made for my aunt to send on as she is stuck at home in St Neots don't seem to have arrived to her yet and that's been 3 weeks - I'm pretty sure one of the birthdays was for the end of April but hey ho, you do what you can. Be interested to see what you've bought as always. Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #18
Oh your poor phone, it really had a whack didn't it? Let's hope the phone people can replace the screen ok. Love the birthday cards, I hadn't noticed the envelopes until someone else pointed it out, but it's really lovely!

I love the birthday cards - the backgrounds are fabulous, just my sort of colours. Sorry to see your phone so messed up but so lucky that you can get it repaired. Hope your craft goodies turn up soon.
Have a good week, stay safe and well,

Hi Helen. Like you I haven't been out for weeks [not even to go shopping] but I did walk as far as our postbox one day this last week and noticed just how loud the birdsong is at the mo :-)
I love the cards you've made this week. Keep smiling, we can do this lockdown thing.
Hugs,

Hi Helen. Thanks for your visit - and being so polite and not mentioning that my post this morning is in a muddle. I'm afraid word press wasn't playing properly today - even when I went back and tried to edit the thing!!
Well done on the masterboard - gorgeous colours - and making the two cards from part of it - a good use!!
Yes, what do we want the new normal to be like when this is all over? Takes some thinking about, doesn't it?
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

So sorry about your phone - they really ought o make them stronger- 90 5 of the pupils at school have cracked screens to some point :(.
You cards are Fab!! Take care and stay safe. Soojay #24
I couldn't believe it when I read about your phone, I have a cracked screen on my new phone but, after reading about yours, discovered that it was only a cover!! so sorry that yours is not the same.
just love those cards, especially the 'hare'y one!
Take care and stay safe

Oh my goodness, what a pickle for your phone, hope you get it fixed soon.
Interesting shop requirements to be open though!!! Each to their own.

Hi Helen, thanks for your visit, and for your kind words about my cards. Sympathy cards can be difficult, but I think my Celtic knots work pretty well - they suit any occasion really. I'm amazed they fixed your phone so quickly - that's brilliant! You must have been gutted when it happened, especially during the lockdown when we really need our technology to keep in touch.

What fun cards!!
Hope you get your phone working perfectly!
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

What an awful thing, to break your phone. That must be a horrible situation. I love your cards, full of humour though, ;) - Denmark is slowly open up again - we are able to be outside and to go shopping for goods other than food now. Thank you for sharing.
Kind regards

I was glad to read on Facebook that your phone is sorted now. I love the cards you have made. I need to make a few for May and havent thought about them yet! Happy belated WOYWW. Stay safe and take care my friend. With love & God Bless, Caro xx (#29)
Hi Helen! It's a long time to be locked down. I officially stopped working on the 15th of March, but went out and bought a car on the 19th, and drove it for the first time last Tuesday! So we are both in the same boat. I am looking forward to some sunshine that we can enjoy, but we will have rain for the next day or so. Your cards are lovely, I like how you added the "don't" in there! Hope your phone is completely fixed, thanks for your visit, stay busy, and stay safe! Lindart #30
Loving the creativity even in these very strange times, mine is definitely slowing down.
Hugs
I hope you have your phone back by now and they were able to repair it! The cards are wonderful, love that background! I, too, don't go for long walks and stay inside/on the balcony as much as possible.... glad to have my art atelier to keep me busy! Sorry I'm late with my visit this week... it's already Saturday, wow! Enjoy your weekend! Hug from Holland, Marit #20
Lovely desky share dear Helen, and so sorry I’m late... again... 😁
Wow how utterly horrid re dropped phone, I’ve done it a few times, so have a rash resist back on it and a tempered glass screen protector too, but managed to crack the screen protector very fine hairline cracks and so waiting new one too which is coming from UK waiting since beginning of April!
Hope yours goes perfectly fine once screen replaced. Great cards well done, and hopefully you’ll be back at Kew soon you must miss it.
Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially in these troubled times, may we look up in faith, not at the mud underneath ! Praying you’re all kept well too!

Rash resist = crash resist! 😐 mm not sure mobiles get rashes!
A great pair of cards Helen! Hope the new phone screen does the trick.
must admit when I saw your FB update about your phone I was gutted for you, so pleased you were able to find somewhere that was able to fix it.
kyla
Oh no - I do hope the new screen will get your phone back up and running properly - what a pain.
Love the cards... they both have a fabulously grungy, earthy vibe with those rich colour tones. Love the contrast of the golden flower stems (and carrots!), and the outlined silhouette is so cool.
