WOYWW 199

Oh it's 200 apparently - obviously can't count!! Welcome to the first WOYWW (what's on your workdesk Wednesday?) of April - though the weather would have us think it's still January.... oh, and I still haven't started my anniversary atc... eek, really HAD better get going on that now!

I promised to try and remember to show you inside the box of stamps that was kind of hiding in last week's post, and amazingly, I did (remember, that is!)

You can probably guess by the amount of stuff that "lives" on top of this box, I don't use these very often...!!
To the left of my computer stool, are two more of these boxes, the top one has all kinds of sprays and flowers and buttons and bits and pieces...

and the one underneath that, has more stamps!! (don't you dare say I'm obsessed.....)

Yesterday was Craft Club, and we were trying out mosaics....

BJ from WOYWW also came this time - I think she enjoyed it - we sat together and nattered - she is lovely, if you ever get to meet her... but we did get to do our mosaic coasters too...
I chose a blue theme for mine and decided not to attempt too intricate a pattern, but went for abstract.... we're taking them back next time to grout and finish off.

Some of the club members, hard at work

This coming Saturday, Lynne (middle, sitting) - my sister in law - and I are going to London Excel for the Creative Stitches and Hobby Crafts show that I won the tickets for, from Julia (thanks again!) Should be a good day out!

I will be getting told off for taking too long, so had better let you go and get round some desks!

you sure have a lot of big boxes with well shall we say a few stamps in them. It would be a shame to put things back on top of those boxes, wouldn't you like just a little play with the stamps
Enjoy your WOYWW sunny day today

Trust me, you don't have 'too much' and I'll never accuse you (or anyone else!) of being obsessed!! :D

Lovely tile! Do you have a use for it when it's complete? I imagine it would be lovely in any manner of uses!!

Enjoy the craft show!

Hi Helen

I have at one time or still have most of those stamps..I culled ruthlessly a few years ago and although I miss them, I know I won't have used them even if I had them in the shelf! Hope Excel works out well, didn't get to Birmingham, the weather was bad and the police were saying 'no unnecessary journeys'..so I weighed it up and fell back into bed! How nice to have met BJ, I tell ya, this world is getting smaller!

Hey Helen, I have some of the same stamps you have in that box, I think you need more. I can't for the life of me get rid on my stamps I still have my first one ever. So don't feel so bad ok.

Not being a stamper, I really can't understand the obsession! LOL. However the dragonfly one would come in jolly handy for Tim's Tag this month. Great to meet you at last last night. (especially as you are just up the road from me) Craft group was great so should be there next month too. My tile has dried flat under a heavy book and my Cuttlebug and I'll probably get it grouted today. Far too keen.... BJ#61

Hi Helen, thanks for stopping by. Personally I think that stamp addiction is quite healthy ... well there are worse things!! Thank you for the reminder about the anniversary atcs - must get cracking myself! I will be at Excel on Fri, unfortunately I have to work Saturday. Only problem is it is too close to Ally Pally - if I go mad I won't have time to save up again!! Happy WOYWW, Cindy x

Having recently reorganized my stamps I am getting more use out of them than ever I have. I just need to step away from the sewing machine and back to the paper soon or I'll be so out of practice it'll take me ages to get back into the swing of things :)

Happy WOYWW!

How wonderful it would be to have a nose through those boxes....but the mosaics caught my imagination ....I have always dreamed of doing it ....there is even a nipper thingy somewhere in this house.
I dreamed too big ....a table top ....but maybe a coaster would be a good starting place ...one day. xx

Wow, that's quite a collection of stamps! I peeled all mine off the wooden blocks and mounted them on EZ mount when they got too bulky to store - they take up a fraction of the room but it's a bit of a chore to do!
Have a good week and many thanks for stopping by my blog - much appreciated!

I don't think any of us dare say you have too many stamps. One can never have too many!
May I come and rummage at some point though? Pretty please?
Have fun at the show! Are you doing Ally Pally?

That's not am obsession, just an interest. Challenge yourself to use something from the bottom layer now and then and it will remind you why you bought it! I have to say I have one or two in my collection that have never seen ink, and I have no idea what motivated me to buy them. The cladd looks fun. Nothing like friends to natter with when you are crafting.
The coaster reminds me of all the little tiles we buy to repair the swimming pool!

A Stamp Obsession, if every I saw one!
That’s some collection you have there Helen. I spy some rubber stamp tapestry ones there too, which reminds me, I haven’t used mine for a while and must dust them off.
Loving the colours of your coaster too. I often look at the mosaic stuff in Hobbycraft if I’m passing but have never given it a go myself.
Thanks for stopping by this week.
Happy Crafting!
