It was nearly a tulip disaaaster, dahling!

Well an eventful afternoon here for sure... I was happily working away in my Dylusions journal...

Using Black Marble, Dirty Martini and Melted Chocolate sprays...
and some papers that Sam may recognise (knew I'd be able to do something with this one, lol!) I tore half the sheet into pieces, scrumpled them up and flattened them out, edged with distress inks and stuck them with multi medium.

Distress inks, stencils  .....
and Lin's tulip stamp - I started by stamping the tulip in distress inks over the background, but it's blended in more than I wanted... so time for some paint I thought...

So added a tulip using Fresco paints, turned on the heat gun to dry the paint - and bang!  My heat gun blew up - luckily the plug is close by me as I have to use an extension lead from another room, and so the socket is right by the sofa.  I got it unplugged before any fire could start.

I knew it was on the way out, as it's been a bit dodgy for a while, and have been unplugging it after I stop working or leave the room....

Ok, so that panic over, I retrieve my "spare" from the dusty corner of the room and cleaned it off, luckily it still works and the extension lead didn't blow the fuse, so all is ok... apart from needing a new "hairdryer" style heat gun, which I now prefer to the Milwaukee long thin style.
Anyway, I decided the journal page needed some black contrast stamping, which I proceeded to do, still using the tulip.

I overstamped the painted image too, after all that, as the flower was too pale to show up.... so it's been obliterated, much like the heat gun!!!

Finished with some white, (fresco paint apart from the bottom left here, where I used my white sharpie pen) and the 'artful blooms' stamp from Lin's stamp set.

what a dramatic page indeed! Somehow doubt I'll forget this one....

Wow love how you've lost those patterned papers in the page and the black stamped tulips really bring it to life.

Even though you had an eventful afternoon, glad you managed to stay safe and had a spare!!

Lovely, lovely, lovely! OMG! That's a scary tale though I had no idea that the long (somewhat phallic) heat gun had a name other than 'heat gun'! I feel educated now daaarling! Much mwah to you and I'll raise a glass to your former heat gun xxx

Fabulous layered page... the stamping looks so cool against the background!

Ow... didn't know they blew up, and I don't have a spare... Been having kittens about my BigShot plates breaking while I'm stuck here in CZ; now I can worry about my heat tool too!! Glad you're okay...
