WOYWW - 19th May

Welcome back again, WOYWW'ers.   At last the weather here seems to be warming up a little - about time too!   At the moment the forecast for the weekend is quite good so I will be going back to Kew Gardens again (I've checked the trains, there are no engineering works to disrupt my journey!)

I've had quite a crafty week since we last met, as some of you will have seen from my posts at the weekend. I have to say, I did have fun with the grungepaper roses again, although getting the glue off my fingers is a bummer! No matter how much I wash them, it seems to come back again, and again.

However, at the moment, there are some bits and pieces on my workspace (edit - what I call my workspace is the patch of floor the size of my craft mat - the rest is just the floor!!)  for my Rulerz book again:

The red flower (more grungepaper) isn't for the book, but I'm not sure what to use it for - I had made it a while ago and was going to incorporate it into my Sunday Stampers challenge, but thought it might be overkill!  So I'll keep it for something else. The fibres have now been plaited and stuck to the other side of the purple page which is waiting attention!
The book - which is sitting on a ball of string is hiding my so far very feeble attempt at my WOYWWAC. The string is for a background technique I haven't got round to yet!!

I have used some glossy accents to highlight the words "art" and life" from this dictionary page stamp (Hero) but I don't think it shows up in the pic; and the flower was coloured with a Marvy brush marker. I've accented the middles of some of the flowers with buttons.

I have used part of the torn out map from an old diary I showed you a few weeks ago, and some Wendy and Tim stamps and a grungeboard arrow (it's pointing to London on the map) which I've coloured walnut stain DI and covered with rock candy distress stickles and let dry overnight - I always knew I'd find a use for these maps one day!  The book page is coloured with crushed olive and forest moss DI's.

When I was rummaging for the flower stamp I realised I hadn't opened this drawer to the camera before - they're mostly Rubber Stampede stamps.
I really want to sort out my Idea-ology stash and keep it all in one place, but need to find something suitable.  I can't decide if I want to take the things out of the packets or not, I know it would make it easier to grab them to use, but I kind of like them in their packets too.  I guess it depends what I find to store them in - and I have no idea when I will do that!! At the moment most of it is chucked into this box - I know I showed it to you a few weeks ago, but I thought some of you (Linda!!) might like to see it again - and the new stuff is still on the floor next to me.... (nice and close!!) If I keep them in their packets, I just need a box.  Otherwise -  any suggestions? To be honest, this box is too full and I have to rummage madly to find anything.

Well, there will no doubt be loads more desks to get round so I had better stop burbling and start hopping! Hope you enjoyed your visit today, see you all soon. Check out the rest of the desks/washing machines/cupboards here or in my sidebar to see what the fun is all about.

Lots of lovely stuff ... grungepaper, Ferro, Terra, the new DIs ... yum.. yum .. Yes, I've had the same dilemma with the Idea-ology stuff, and have ended up with some of it unpacked and stored in a small set of drawers, and some still in the package in a bigger set !

Nice looking art there Helen.. Now, about this Idea-ology.. I went and bought a box that has little compartments in it.. and then painted it and altered it and grunged it up.. and each compartment holds Idea-ology.. trouble is, I need another box now cos there is more Idea-ology ROFL.. and it takes up less room that all that packaging LOL xx

Blinking heck Helen - you have been busy... and just when I thought a girl couldn't possibly own any more stamps than you'd already shown us... you go and open a gigantic drawer full - no wonder you forgot about it - you've got far too much - and possible need to send some here - or sell them to fund the economy of a small country LOL.

Can't think of any suggestions for storing your ideaology stuff - but follow a link on my WOYWW post today to a blog called crafty storage and it might give you some ideas - there are some great things to drool over on that blog...

You have so many great things to look at! I love your Tim-drawer, your ruler book is gorgeous, the papers on the floor made me feel that it might be a great idea to craft on the floor, I might loose some pounds if I start to! Its a great craft-and-slim idea!

Adding this from work - STASH delivered to me at work - my Craft Spinner for my blending tools and some more grungepaper... had to rip open the packets, can't wait to get home.

I know what you mean about the glue. At the moment I am covering everything in Glossy accents and I use my fingers to spread it (only way I've found to stop the little bubbles) No matter how much I bath or wash my hands, I'm still picking it off days later :)

Love your pages, the GA does show up in the photos and I love the map one - clicked for a bigger nosy :P

a bit of pushback there, very creative love the LO.

The ruler book is coming along nicely! When you say the rest is just floor, do you mean the rest is just floor covered in stash? lol

Darcy Marshall said...

great pages and lovely flower. i am always tempted to keep things in packets too, but then i get annoyed that they are all different sizes, so I empty them into other storage and then cant find anything lol

Kathy said...

Thank you for letting us rummage through your stash - always a treat!

Great pages, and love those rubber stampede stamps, all leaves and such, my fave! As for the Idea-ology stuff, I used to keep them in the packages, but now I have a divided organizer that is clear and just put them in there, much easier for me to see and grab.

Lots of lovely things in you box. Hugs Pam x

your pages look fab. to open packs or not that is the question - I do it all the time, kept my promarkers in the packs for ages but then took them out!glad it isn't just me who debates these things.

Oooh, the old 'original packaging' problem - I can never decide whether to take stuff out or not. I also really like it when things come in nice packages and have been known to buy things I don't really want just because the box is pretty!
