WOYWW 645

Morning bakers  deskers... (you can tell I write this during Great British Bake Off)  It is time again for WOYWW  where we share our crafty workspaces... I have little to show this week (ordered some stencils on Sunday which I had hoped would arrive in time but the post let me down)

I had a bit of a dodgy go at Dina's latest supporter video from last week - drawing and painting over a stamped image on tissue embedded in a journal page  using paint instead of glue.

It's amazing how when you're adding to an image that is already there, you can make it look awful (although it's slightly better in the picture than the flesh!! )  However I shall practice.

so I'll leave you with Kew instead - at least I can't mess that up - last week was foggy to start with and then gloriously sunny -

here's a couple of pics to tempt you!

I am sure you've all been much more productive than I have and I'll be round to visit soon.

Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 644

Another Wednesday another month - hello October!  the year - never mind the weeks - are whizzing by so fast.  We head to Julia's Stamping-Ground for another week of WOYWW  desk sharing fun..

As I am writing this (watching Great British Bake Off)  I've just seen a Christmas advert on telly.... no way!!

abandoned Christmas cards this week for a "batty" play in my journal...
I'd already sprayed the background - or it might be paint I honestly can't remember (think it must be paint, actually)  some time ago

the church window stamp set (Dina Wakley) was the front of the pile  ad the circle came from a Dina Wakley supporter video idea...I painted it to look like a moon behind the window

I remembered i had some bat die cuts and hurrah, could even find them!!
this is the play from the supporter video - a sort of warm up play session - pieces to be used as is or as collage fodder as Dina calls them  as you choose

needless to say they stopped as a warm up exercise and haven't developed into anything.

I had a lucky escape at Kew on Saturday as the forecast heavy rain didn't start till after I'd got home and it only rained intermittently.
Photos here including the new Japan season

Thanks for looking, I'll be round to visit you soon.

WOYWW 643

Welcome back, it's another Wednesday so time for the best day of the week and WOYWW

Even less than last week, truth be told... back at work after my week off  and it feels like I wasn't off at all..

I spent a little time trying out the star wreath die I bought a few weeks ago - and they turned into 2 Christmas cards

they cut really well

and I think they'll be quite useful  - although the tiny stars are a right pain to stick on (they fall out very readily)

I had a day in London playing tourist last week too - pics here

It's been 2 years since i had a day in London because of Covid last year - was great to be back!

Of course I finished my week off with another morning at Kew and this week coming it will be back to arriving for 10 o'clock

thanks for looking - I'll be over to visit your desks soon.

WOYWW 642

Welcome to Wednesday and desk day - I may be late linking as I am on holiday from work (although so far I've not slept past 6am much as normal)

I've not got anything much crafty to share apart from some some play time with a Stencil Girl stencil and the Dina Wakley gloss sprays...

started in a journal and some tags, then flip the stencil onto more tags and journal page to use up the spray on the stencil
this is my favourite

then some new goodies turned up on Monday....

I showed the backs of the packs of the collage paper so you can hopefully see the designs.

Might get some play time today (well tomorrow really as I am writing this during Bake Off)
as I don't think I'm going out anywhere
Had 3 trips to Kew  since you last popped round - Saturday,    Sunday    and Tuesday
Each trip was spectacular in their own way.

Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 641

Hello, deskers   we find ourselves at Wednesday again!  Time for desk sharing day at Julia's  WOYWW

Still playing in the kraft journal

a double page

and two single pages

Nothing much else has happened round here,  work, work and more work-  but I do have next week off for some chill out time.

Might be doing some pre-ordering of goodies as Dina Wakley  has a new release being announced later this week.

I'll leave you with the link for last week's mid-morning trip to Kew - it was odd to be there at the time I normally get ready to come home!

WOYWW 640

Hey peeps, here we are again, time for another desk sharing day with Julia for WOYWW    (What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, week 640)

I made some time to play with my Dina gloss sprays on Sunday  through stencils
then I used one in the Kraft journal with some stamped images
and a couple more pages part done

then I ran out of oomph!!

I had another lovely morning at Kew last Saturday

you can see here

No early start this weekend though as there is a fun run taking place and the gardens aren't opening till 11 so I get a lie in first!

That's all from me today,  have a good week and happy desk day!

WOYWW 639

Happy Wednesday, deskers!  It's WOYWW  (and September!)   After Julia mentioned a couple of weeks ago that she was sorting through her card stocks that she would no longer use,  I commented to her that I could have found some of them a home and before I knew it she was offering to send me some... Now, you may think after last week's post I couldn't possibly need any more card blanks, but hey!!

as you can see they arrived

I went shopping on Monday (it was a bank holiday here in the UK so I had an extra  day off),  I couldn't find what I went for, but ended up with another pack of the makeup sponges I've been using for distress inks lately,  and some Posca paint pens.

I even got a couple of journal pages made at the weekend

Sunday was the 24th anniversary of my sister's death and I was thinking about her a lot, and in the end made a journal page to document it

just behind the faces is a white on white collage tissue face from one of Dina's packs,  representing Maggie...in the background, never forgotten.

it's all her fault I am surrounded by all this crafting stash, you know, she came across a lady selling rubber stamps at a school fair when my oldest nephew was small, and the rest, as they say, is history.....
then slightly happier,  is a page I just splodged together on Monday,  using a piece from one of the Facebook classes I took with Dina Wakley (the power of marks I think it was called)  that I tore up and glued over a painty background.

Last week's Kew pics are here....   I am fed up saying I hope next weekend is slightly warmer/sunnier/drier  so I won't bother this week as it never happens!

Happy WOYWW  and see you soon
