ATC and Tag swap

I'm a bit behind on sharing the tags and atcs for the swap group I'm in, these are from the July swap - theme stencils.

 did a double layer of stencilling on the tags and atcs, with and Old French Script stencil (Americana Decor)

 and added stamps from some of the new Paperartsy Hotpicks

stencilled some texture paste on the atc round the stamping, too.










so, whilst I'm here and so I don't forget, these are the next ones due by the end of this month - the new theme is texture.

covered the tags with torn book pages and scrunched up tissue wrap and painted the tags - can't remember which blue I used, but the green is Sage!

Added some of the fabric stamping we did on our James Sharp weekend

 covered the atcs with burlap and torn corrogated card (from a coffee cup wrapper)

Added tissue stamped images

 to the top of the blue tag I added some glass bead gel for added texture.

and some stencilled paste on the green one

Flower Tag - inspired by Leandra for Paperartsy

Last weekend at Stevenage, you may have seen the gorgeous tag Leandra made me

that evening I started a version of my own, using some of the new Lin Brown stamps I'd bought that day... didn't like the first few layers of paint on the background,too sludgy... so just kept going..



eventually got to a stage where it was OK.

 didn't take any more photos until the stamping was done...nor can I remember what colours are in the background..

I do know I used South Pacific to colour the flowers, and a mixture of greens for the stems.

Added some white pen highlights to the petals, and some more stamping to the foot of the tag

not completely happy with this, but I do like the background at least...

Tag it On - Dragons Dream - Five

Hi, and welcome to another Dragons Dream challenge for Tag It On... this fortnight,it's my own turn to pick the number, and I've chosen 5.  I'm not sure why exactly, it's not a particularly obvious choice, the number has no meaning to me as such... but I had it at the back of my mind, that if I was going to use the specified number for the challenge, that many times on my tag, it had better be a low number...

Anyhow

we'll start with the  finished tag... I used 5's a few times... five colours, five birds, five groups of words (also ELB24)
if I'd planned the tag better (or at all, lol!) I'd have used 5 stamps too.. but couldn't get any more on after I had that idea..

I started by drawing the 5 on my tag with a pencil, then once I was happy with the shape and size I outlined it with my new Fude Ball pen (did I say how much I love this pen?!)

Masked round the outside of the 5 and filled the middle with the flower (dandelion?) from ELB24, in Buttercup archival..

from there I masked the inside and stamped the smallest of the Wendy Vecchi flowers in Aquamarine archival..

Decided the middle needed more colour/flowers.. so masked the outside again (telling it how it is, here!)

Took my Tea Rose archival and repeated the flower inside the 5

stamped the text from ELB24 in black archival, on a spare tag, and cut it up  - handily 5 lines of text!

mounted this with 3d foam pads... glued some die cut birds (5 obviously) onto each piece of tag..

For my 5th colour (you'd almost think this was an afterthought, wouldn't you........am saying nothing!)..
I added another layer of stamping in Forget me Not archival, and the small flower centre from  ELB22 - you can see this later in the next picture...

and a final look at the tag in slightly close up...

I added some string through the hole in the tag, not of course at all because I couldn't be bothered to get the box of ribbons down... no, not me!

So there you have it, 5, in all it's truthful afterthought tagginess...
I know that's not a real word, I just made it up.. a bit like the tag..

WOYWW 322.. the post stamp show edition

So, Sunday saw me getting up very early (for a Sunday) (no, strike that,for any day) and setting off to Stevenage.  Met up with friends and chatted, shopped, watched demonstrations (Paperartsy), chatted; shopped and chatted...
I've blogged fully here but this is the haul in closer detail just for you guys!!

 some Prima casts (ideal for painting and mixed media projects) a new brayer (you should see the state of the one I use for paint!) couple of stencils, a spare set of flexiblocks (acrylic mounts for stamps, love them) and some sanding blocks

 a few (more) new Paperartsy stamp sets, love love love, and a couple of packs of tissue

my Fresco paint storage.  someone in a group I'm in on FB asked about our paint storage, and I thought I'd add it in here too.

Finally, the reason you're here... the "desk"... took a low viewpoint today... down as low as I could (not a good idea, took it right after finishing dinner...)

there isn't much room for lying down in the doorway where I took this from, (boxes of stuff, doncha know!) but not showed it from this angle before!!

Stamperama stamp show - today!

This has long been one of my favourite shows, small, but perfectly formed... Today, it was made more special by Sam and Emma making a long journey "down south" to attend.. hope they thought it was worth it.
We all spent a lot of time at the Paperartsy stand, as always...here's the story of the day (oh, and some shopping!)

 I challenged Leandra to use the JoFY set (at front, with the caterpillar) as I'd just bought it, and wanted some ideas...

some (long) time later, this was the gorgeous result, which I was able to bring home with me!

 time for tea and cake,. I seem to have only got half of Sam, oops!  Jo, and Alison.

and my goodies... nearly all from Paperartsy, just one stencil elsewhere... there wasn't a lot else I wanted apart from what Leandra and Mark had; lol!

Paperartsy Challenge - Flowers

We're already a week into the Paperartsy Flowers challenge and there have been some amazing posts from the DT and guests, but I've only just had time to enter... I had one of the Hot Pick plates itching to be inked, and today was the day...

Prawn Fresco dabbings from a piece of cut and dry foam, from the project...

I added some layers of Buff and Blush, over the page...

I really thought I'd taken a picture of the next stage, stamping on tissue... but seemingly not!



I stamped the poppy (HP1505) twice on a piece of tissue, leaving space for another one in the middle, I cut a mask for the leaves and stamped the poppy again, bending the stem slightly and filling the gap...


I cut the poppies out and painted them with Cherry Red Fresco, and a little London Bus too, then added some more on the reverse for a bit of depth.


For the leaves I used Sage, on the reverse, then mixed a little Sage and Hyde Park (thus diluting the Sage a little and making it semi translucent) and painted them from the front

I added some Blood Orange to the front of the poppies and glued the flowers to the journal.

Finished it with the "art in bloom" from ELB01.

It was so nice to finally get these poppies used, I love them!!
