It's all new around here.. WOYWW339

... well it may be .  I splurged and bought a new computer (yes, I know, Black Friday has a lot to answer for...) and I am writing this early in case I can't get it up and running ha ha!!
So, it's Wednesday, it's bloody December, and it's WOYWW again!!

it's an all in one pc, so no tower.. which confuses me.. it's on the floor, where my craft mat normally goes, and regular visitors will recognise space cleared to the right of my work space, because of course I have to get behind the tv to where all the cables need to be plugged in...

If it works, I'll come back and edit this to prove it!
I did get some non Christmas crafting done at the weekend, for a FB group I'm in, for a tag/atc swap which has since been delayed
but mine are done, so there!!
Theme, in case you can't tell (!!) is trees/woodland.

ok. let's leave it at this and see if I come back.. if you don't see me at Julia's, please someone link me, lol!!

I'm here (on the old one still - the files are still backing up ready for swap over!)

Pink- Tag and ATC Swap

I know I am meant to be packing for the Glasgow trip but it's nearly done...
Just time then to blog the "pink" atc and tags for the swap Sam's organising - they're already packed to take with me
Pink, for Breast Cancer awareness month of October.  Here's what I came up with.
had trouble both last night and this morning with the light so the photos aren't the best!
used Prawn on the left, and Bougainvillea on the right, under the crackle, and Rose (I think) on top
The flower on the left is stamped and cut and layered on tissue
I had this base pink tag with the purple-y bubbles (gloss gel mixed with Eggplant I think it was, Fresco) - left from the Paperartsy gels fortnight.. so it seemed an ideal time to do something with it!

My favourite Dina stamp, on tissue and added, the 'inspire' is by Clarity
Teresa Green base tag, looks really patchy now.. Bougainvillea again for the JoFY trees/flowers - these are a favourite from the newish releases, and I love masking them to create a 'forest'.
Used an alphabet set to 'write' Think Pink on the tag.

Bit rushed with this last tag, as I really wanted to take it with me, should have spent more time on it!

WOYWW - again! - week 333

Well, what can I say? It's Wednesday, it's 5 to 5 and it's ... oh hang on, that's wrong... showing my age there. (used to love Crackerjack on a Friday!)   (those of you not of a certain age and not British will now think I've lost the plot but it was a great kid's tv programme from the... oops  60's and 70's (probably..)  so I googled it, it started in 1955 and ended in 1984.. obviously I don't remember the earliest episodes! )

So, moving swiftly on, it's time for another desk hop with Julia
I'll show you mine if... stop it!!
not a lot going on, (again!) and not Christmas cards either!  Some part done tags and atcs for a swap that I need to finish tomorrow

because they're not finished and not sent off for swapping I won't show them in detail here.

suffice to say the theme is pink (for breast cancer awareness month)
will try and remember to take some close up photos so I can share them when they're finished.

The top picture also shows my open journal (on the pile of "stuff" in front of the wicker basket) which has been sadly neglected for ages, but which I did start faffing about in at the weekend (putting off Christmas cards again!) That didn't get finished either..

The reason the tags and atcs need to be finished tomorrow is because I am away for the weekend with the girls I often go away with, Sam, Emma and Lin; this time we're going on a long train journey to the Stitching Sewing and Papercrafts show, which is happening in Glasgow... well, we fancied a change!!  and as Sam organises the swaps, I can take them with me! .... hopefully....
I know I don't do sewing or stitching, but I'm sure there'll be plenty to enjoy.  Watch this space!
I may therefore be very late getting to many of you to see what you're sharing on your desks so apologies in advance!

ATC and Tag swap

I'm a bit behind on sharing the tags and atcs for the swap group I'm in, these are from the July swap - theme stencils.

did a double layer of stencilling on the tags and atcs, with and Old French Script stencil (Americana Decor)
and added stamps from some of the new Paperartsy Hotpicks
stencilled some texture paste on the atc round the stamping, too.

so, whilst I'm here and so I don't forget, these are the next ones due by the end of this month - the new theme is texture.
covered the tags with torn book pages and scrunched up tissue wrap and painted the tags - can't remember which blue I used, but the green is Sage!

Added some of the fabric stamping we did on our James Sharp weekend
covered the atcs with burlap and torn corrogated card (from a coffee cup wrapper)

Added tissue stamped images
to the top of the blue tag I added some glass bead gel for added texture.
and some stencilled paste on the green one
close up of the top of the blue tag.

thanks for looking

Geometrics - a tag and atc swap

The latest theme for the swap group I'm in is "geometrics" and I've used a bit of a mish mash of Dylusions paint, and Paperartsy stencils and stamps
I started by painting the tags and atcs with the pin and orange paints
then stamped in Watering Can archival, the Ellen Vargo scratchy square randomly over the surfaces.

I added some stencilling with archival ink (Vermillion)  and outlined some of the rectangles in white sharpie marker, and some black circles
sat and pondered my focal point for a while, before settling for the Lin Brown bird, and a greeting from a JoFY plate

painted the wingtips and eyes with the orange paint
and some pink ribbon on the tags

I completely forgot to write on my tags and atcs last time, so did that straight away this time!

WOYWW 313. . it's a new day it's a new year...

..of desking... Welcome to the start of year 7 at Julia's Stamping Ground's WOYWW - you show me yours and all that...
So, let's start as we mean to go on... new stash!!
laid out on my floor-desk (hiding some tissue swaps I'm doing for a Facebook group) and some atcs and tags I got back in another swap for the same group..
close up... this time from Artist Trading Post - I was alerted to a May sale with selected items (the Tim book) and a few others fell into the shopping basket... as they do.

The service from ATP is excellent - ordered these late Sunday, they were despatched Monday and arrived today (oops, Tuesday!)

I'm off now to hop round some desks to see what you've all been up to. Happy WOYWW.

May Tag and ATC swap

Been meaning to write this for a while... the tags/atc swaps that I did for the May swap are now wending their way to their recipients so I think it's time to share my makes..

The theme this month was script. or words

for the atcs I used purple and lime (a colour combination inspired by something Sam had done just as I was planning my makes... I can't remember what colours I used as I didn't make a note... I imagine the lime was Limelight.. the script background on the atcs is one of my favourites, from A Stamp in the Hand and then I stencilled some hearts using Deco Art  Texture Sand Paste   The top quote is by Kaisercraft.

For my tags, I think I used Mermaid.. but again, no notes..  oh no wait,  I used the Lin Brown limited edition paints for these... Caribbean Sea then! Torn book pages glued down first.
The butterflies are from JoFY32 and the big text are Invoke Arts, the little ones, Finnabair for Prima.
Coloured some white satin ribbon with Caribbean Sea fresco.

I made these quite early on in the month, next time I must write the post as I make them so I know what I've been doing...

Tag and ATC swap

These are my tags and atcs for the latest swap I'm in organised by Sam. The theme was black and white tags and monochrome or 2 colour atcs; theme set by Emma - thanks Emma I had a blast with this, especially the tags.
I don't have any step by step pics, I was so in the swing with the tags and am really happy with how they came out.

I decided to do one black with white and one white with black - the tags are manilla so used a couple of coats of white gesso and one of Snowflake Fresco, and black gesso on the other.

the stencil is a window frame from Stencil Girl, and the butterfly from Finn.

The sentiments are from Dina Wakley.

I stencilled in the middle of the frame too.
I didn't have a white organza ribbon (or at least couldn't find it in the ribbon box), or a black satin one, (and forget to get white organza at Ally Pally, I KNEW there was a particular ribbon I wanted!)
for the atcs I decided to stick to shades of blue, used mainly new Frescos though I haven't recorded the colours.. the diamonds are a stamp from JoFY34
and the little houses and text from ELB13
The next theme's already been announced, time to get my thinking cap on again.

Tag and ATC swap

I've recently joined in with another tag and atc swap and they are now on their way to their new homes.
Here's the ones I created - the theme was 'birds'

tag one, Fresco background, the grasses stamped in the background are from Lost Coast Designs. the bird is from one of Lin's new sets for Paperartsy. the twigs for the nest were supplied by my other friend Lin, and which I've been hoarding!
tag two, Stencil Girl stencil, and some shading with Fresco's, the bird is one of Dina Wakley's scribbly birds, with some hand-shading for the feathers.
was quite pleased how the scribbly bird turned out.
atc's .  crackle backgrounds.  I did write down what colours I used for this, but can't find where I put it...the one on the left is Antarctic on top...
Dina's scribbly bird on the left, and Harry (Lost Coast scruffy bird) on the right.
Used Dusty Teal and Antarctic for the feathering...
Hope whichever of my swappees gets these, likes them!

Our next theme has been announced - watch this space!

Tag and ATC Swap

I recently took part in a tag and atc swap and the results are now winging their way to the recipients. So, here's what I made to swap.  The theme was 'faces'

I failed miserably to take any step by step photos..
crackle on the first tag, though I can't remember what colours I used... think Dolly Mix is on top.. Stamped "David" on book text
Paperartsy script background in ?? Fresco over Antarctic, I think! (should have written this when I made the tags!)

The stamps are a Judikins cube stamp I've had forever and haven't used in longer, but I love them!!  Used an alphabet stamp for the 'create'
ATCs.  hmmm Tim Holtz stamps - the left one coloured with gelatos I think... glass bead gel on the one on the right, over the 'dream'
