 Happy WOYWW and happy March. we find ourselves at Wednesday again.. head to Julia's for the details to share your crafty spaces..

more new goodies!  Paperartsy Mattints -  matt glazes with gorgeous colours... 

I resisted the first 4 (top row) when they were launched a while back but a fantastic Facebook live last week by Leandra with a demonstration changed all that!

it was like being back at the Ally Pally craft shows watching her demo for hours on end.. though a lot more comfortable from my sofa!

I also stamped out the new Dina images that came last week 

and the little faces (small versions of previously releases full sized stamps) 

I had a play with them in the small white Dina journal

and then it was time to play with the Mattints

I prepped the background whilst the painted tissue (see below)  was drying.

the stripy colours are the leftover tints just added to the journal then added some stencilling (numbers) and stamping

the images I painted with the tints are from the Paperatsy printed tissue - and now I need to buy some more of those too -  the ones I have are from the original sheets that Paperartsy used to use as packaging to their suppliers before they decided to sell them!

they are now producing sheets from several of their signature designers stamp ranges and .... yes, I need them!

the tints are transparent glazes and can be layered and blended and you don't lose any of the tissue design .  I see lots of opportunities.

you can build up layers of colour to intensify the tint - and not lose the stamped design, 

ok, I feel like I'm on a sales pitch, and I am really not; just excited!

WOYWW 713

 Wednesday again!  welcome to another WOYWW    My productivity didn't continue this week -  I got some new stamps and stencils (and no, there was NOT a second order - the rest of the release didn't grab me.. )

so these are the ones I was waiting for last week. 

stamps designed by Seth Apter for Paperartsy and the two small stencils from the Paperartsy range. 

just realised you can't really see the stencil designs very well as the packet background comes through strongly... but little dots and little squares...

I did have a play with some of the stamps and made up a birthday card

I used moulding paste through the dotty stencil and added sprays (Distress sprays)  and inks

I did watch the release of the new Tim Holtz ink colour and like it,  but not ordered yet (waiting for some more Dina stuff the week after next)  but whilst checking if the Stampers Grove had them in yet I came across some more "must have" Stencil Girl stencils that will probably be here tomorrow!

Kew on Saturday was grey after the gorgeous sunshine of the week before, but still lots to see.  post is here 

this weekend sees the start of this year's Orchid Festival so should be colourful!!  

you have to book time slots (to prevent over crowding) and I've got one for each of the first 2 Saturdays.

 Happy May - Happy WOYWW  

 Last week I promised you new goodies - yes, Neet, of course it was Paperartsy!  

I splurged on the whole of the new release from Tracy Scott,  more pattern making stamps, some fab stencils and some new Fresco paints

Tracy created some great patterns in her sketch book that she shared as part of the FB live on launch night and I had a play too at the weekend

some more successful than others  (but that is the point of the sketchbook, try them out, see how they work, before using them in a proper project)

to keep this post relatively short I'm just  sharing the ones I quite like

this is my favourite of the ones I've tried so far 

Of course on Saturday I went to Kew -

This coming Saturday I'll be up at the craft of a sparrow's f*$5  at leaving for Kew at 6.15 as their member early 8am openings have started again.  Yay!!  it is so worth not enough sleep!  

WOYWW 660 - splurge time!

I've had a very productive week for once, been following Tracy Scott on FB -not as mentioned last week her doodle a day challenge - but instead Pattern Play - the latest topic for the Paperartsy blog and something Tracy is known for. She put together a video on You Tube and it can be found in the blog post here  

I had a go with my new stamps that I mentioned last week....

and was hooked

here are some of the pages I've created 

Tracy uses a sketchbook to try out her new stamps she creates for Paperartsy, to get an idea of how best to use them -  and as the video linked above, suggests, it's a great way to play - as you can see, it's addictive 

I've double some of the pages in the pics to take up less space and the inks I've used are all versafine clair 

some of the colours don't show up very well and there are some just in black

 

my second splurge was Sara Naumann stamps, also for Paperartsy and you can see from the card above I've played with them already too

I am on a total spending splurge (as the post header suggests) and there are some new Dina Wakley goodies arriving today (but too late to appear this week!)  and another Tracy Scott stamp set that I resisted to start with but now have to have to carry on my pattern playtime!  

 

before I go I will just add the link for last Saturday's trip to Kew (the forecast sun didn't arrive!) and as this is already a very photo heavy post I'll just tempt you with one more!

more journal pages

In between sitting on the garden wall reading and enjoying the sunshine,  I have been carrying on in my new journal

Pages still inspired by Kew (and using some new stamps)  and a more random page.

this first one reminded me of the tulips buried in the grass under the cherry trees











(seen here with the Chihuly last year)

I added some words later

then I wanted to do one with the new JoFY stamps



both of the above I have shared on FB so apologies if you've already seen them




This one however hasn't yet! 

 I started it yesterday ((Easter Sunday)  adding scrapes of purple paints (Frescos of course)

and added some stencilling with archival ink

 then some more stamping this morning

 and the big JoFY flower outline

I added a touch of purple pen (Ecoline) inside the outlines

and some words -  these are from a Lin Brown set but I used the big "dream" from the JoFY set, trimming off the rest of that sentiment -
it felt important that we dream big for tomorrow! (or the next day, or post-lockdown

Lockdown journalling - Kew - Virtually!

I read something online somewhere (facebook I think, but who knows, everything blurs into one)  that suggested if you are having trouble sleeping to take a virtual walk in a favourite place.

I tried it the night before last and again last night (no prizes for guessing where...)  and it really worked.

As I drifted off to sleep last night, I thought, I must journal that.... so I have!

 I took some of the newer blue and green Paperartsy Fresco paints  (they haven't made it into the storage boxes yet so were easy to grab)


and "painted " a sky and grass

I stamped some branches (Lost Coast Designs)  in Peat Moss archival ink

 and added some wildflower/grasses  - mixture of stamps by Lin Brown for Paperartsy and Lynne Moncrieff for That's Crafty -  and archival inks in Dandelion, Peat Moss, Olive,  and Warm Breeze by Versafine

 I wrote on my page to remind me what this is about...

 added a delicate background script (Lin Brown for PA)  in Watering Can

and some splatters

So maybe today will be a Good Friday after all, even if I can only visit Kew in this way!

WOYWW 553

Christmas has been packed away for another year, and I would say that all is clean and tidy... but that would be a big fat fib!  I don't make New Year Resolutions but once again I will ..just possibly... do a bit of sorting/clearing/tidying at some stage

But -  it's Happy Desk Day - time to share craft workspaces for WOYWW; linking at Julia's as always
I have no crafting to show for my week - but have some enabling for you (obviously!)

a few more Paperartsy goodies from their week of releases.

Really looking forward to playing with these - they only arrived Tuesday - just in time for a starring role - and it's just as well they did or my post would have been very sparse.

I had a fabulous visit to Kew last Saturday - the weather was perfect and I got some great photos 

 the sun came out and really highlighted the grasses









and I can't resist the grevillea in the Princess of Wales glasshouse

Morning deskers.  Once again it's Wednesday and time to share our creative crafty spaces for Julia and the gang at Stamping-Ground for WOYWW 

After last week's poor showing here I had to make sure I have something to show this week (especially as next week I will be away and may not get to join in  on time, unless I get something scheduled to cheat with!!)  

So I spent a bit of time at the weekend playing in my journal 

the finished page - yes FINISHED  

 now for some step by steps.

my new Fresco paints from Paperartsy were looking accusingly from my craft mat at me, so it was time to try some out..

love the blue, called Summer Sky and the light purples are lovely

 also used some of the new JoFY stamps which are just fab - this week I used them as flowers not faces!  (see last week if you don't know what that means!)

 and added the lovely purples and pinks

 and the Cloud 9 (a gorgeous off white) for accents

and splatters - although they are very subtle and I may add some black ones too.   so not finished after all then....

last week's Kew link here    obviously with me being away from the weekend means there'll be a gap in my visits... hope my feet don't take me in the wrong direction!
