WOYWW 895

Here we are once more, Wednesday - time for WOYWW again. I hope you are all well.

Sarah has the link for your to share your craft goings-on!

I had a birthday voucher from work for the Stampers Grove.. so would have been rude not to buy some new Paperartsy stamps from Seth Apter this week.

I wasn't going to get these ones as they are quite similar to others (well, there is a theme going on in Seth's designs) but ... free (gifted) so ...

they'll be great in journal pages

I also had a couple of cards to make -  my my nephew and his longstanding girlfriend got engaged at the weekend so I rattled off a card....

and an anniversary card for his parents - my brother and sister in law

it didn't photograph very well but is on the way to them now so can't re-do it!

Kew was, as the blog title said, another hot one...

it was a foxy day
and a swan-y day

but plenty of flowers too!

Thanks for dropping by, I'll pop round as soon as I can.

WOYWW 874

Happy WOYWW all... time to share our crafty spaces with Sarah

I spent some time on Sunday - my crafting time - making some cards using the new Alison Bomber stamps I showed last week.  I had fun!

they'll probably birthday cards  - this one definitely
two other colour variations
and another of the stamps on a journal page - typically, so far unfinished

I really do like that stencil in the background though as you can see!

Saturday saw Kew, of course, and what is getting to be a colour-filled garden again
there is one more weekend of the orchids to come
the magnolias are coming out and we even saw some sunshine!

the main area where the magnolias grow at Kew is low-lying and it has been as you know, very wet... it could have been much more squishy than it was, but it was soggy underfoot!

spent some time at the lake and the colours on this mallard's head were just stunning!
what a handsome chap!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you soon.

WOYWW 775

Welcome to Wednesday, deskers.  Tis time already for another WOYWW...

Finally, new inks...

12 new Versafine Clair colours.  Ain't they purdy!!

my friend Lesley told me about them, and we both put in a pre-order with a company I've  not used before, (and won't again I reckon) called Crafty Flair.
They were meant to be with them mid March... we waited and waited.
Turned out there is one UK distributor for Versafine Claire inks and when they turned up, Crafty Flair got missed off the distribution... I know it''s not their fault, and it was a good bulk buy price but you know how impatient I  am for new goodies!  then some customers got duplicates or missing colours... luckily, we both got the correct pads!

onto crafting, at the weekend, whilst waiting for inks...

Another collaged page in my small Dina kraft journal.

and a card, using a die cut of that distress oxide coloured page I showed last week.

I die cut 3 of the images, and the one with colours I liked best, I messed up gluing to try and put on the card base...
If I do this again I might stick the paper onto a backing sheet first, it's very flimsy for wet glue!  I would have used a glue stick but know that I'd have torn the flowers!

Added some splatters too and a much under-used wooden happy birthday stamp!

Saturday was Kew day of course, and meant to be sunny and warm.. well it was warm... the sun missed....

but there WAS colour!

and the rhododendrons are coming out too

the grass wasn't dry enough to lie down on for my preferred viewpoint of the tulip meadow under the cherry trees!

Thanks for looking, and happy WOYWW, see you soon

Hope to be able to put the new inks into action at the weekend!

WOYWW 772

Happy Wednesday, deskers.  Another week flew by and it's time to meet up with Julia again  for WOYWW . Sending lots of love to fellow desker Sarah. Our collective thoughts are with you.

it was a card making time at the weekend, couple of work birthdays coming up...

this one used the Paperartsy Mattints to colour.
and some paints for the stencilling on this one.

Kew was beautifully sunny on Saturday - it makes such a difference!

and here's me hiding in the magnolias with my back to red head!

thanks for stopping by, I will be round to catch your craft spaces soon.  Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 768

Wow, it's Wednesday again, must be time for WOYWW

What have you been creating this week?

I'm still of a bit of a card making kick

and journal play too...

the new Dina Wakley paint colours are really pretty!

Kew on Saturday was  as usual, lovely.  Kim managed to get there as she is down to one crutch and getting mobile again, and after several long months it was great to catch up in person rather than What's App

hopefully Mary Anne will be able to see the bigger chameleon - made from mosses and pieces of plant   .
we found some beautiful funghi under the tree ferns in the Temperate house

Thanks for looking, happy WOYWW

WOYWW 767

Here we are again, Wednesday - time for another get together with Julia at the gang at the Stamping-Ground.

It's been a kind of card making week - well Sunday; seems to be my only crafting time these days. By the time I get home from work and eaten, all I want to do is slump in front of the tv.

I used the new Paperartsy products mainly although the centre piece is from a previous Paperartsy release that i'd not inked before...
you can see I like that numbers stencil lots!

the dragonfly is from a Tracy Scott Paperartsy release from a year or (more) ago.. again not used before!
then I played more in the journal - the numbers stencil again!!  I stamped loads more different numbers over the page, and the new Paperartsy birds -  I don't like the way this page turned out I wish I;d left it at the numbers!
started another couple of journal pages too...

was quite a productive Sunday!

Kew on Saturday was another walk round the orchids mainly but outside, lots and lots of crocuses.
the smallest of the chameleons in the display is so cute!
had it not been so muddy from the week's rain I would so have laid down on the grass to get closer to the crocus "carpet"

I wish you all a happy WOYWW and Valentine's day if you celebrate, with your loved ones.  See you next week.

WOYWW 766

I have to start by talking about the tragic news about Zoe's son.  Zoe was a big part of WOYWW for a long time and we followed her son Keagan's career as a jockey with interest.  I was stunned beyond belief to see via Facebook and then on the BBC website, about his untimely death in a race at the weekend.  I cannot begin to know what Zoe and the rest of her family are going through.

I am sure all deskers who knew Zoe will feel the same.

So, desk time then... I had another delivery in the week - the last for a while I think. (probably)

some new paints from Dina, very pretty colours!
The blue would be right up Zoe's street (her beloved Bristol Rovers'  team colours)

the page I didn't share last week for fear of having nothing this week, got wrecked and painted over in black gesso before adding some of the new colours, just to test them!
I carried on in my A5 sized journal...
and made a couple of cards...

the colours on this one were whilst I was watching Liverpool (sadly losing) on Sunday, they were playing in our purple away strip....

The first weekend of Kew's Orchid Festival was fabulous  lots of colour in the Princess of Wales conservatory...

the animals the team makes always make me smile

main display.

I'll be back again this weekend.

I will be late home from work today, so if you're not a very early desk poster, I'll be round when I can! Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 765

The last Wednesday of January - who stole that month?!  Welcome along for another round of WOYWW with the deskers at Julia's

I had my new goodies come.... both on the same day, one to work (too big for the letterbox) and one at home (did fit the letterbox!)

all courtesy of Paperarty's new releases and Stampers Grove for speedy service...

I put some of them to play straight away (well at the weekend)

a journal page
a  card (I need a birthday card for a friend but not sure she'll quite appreciated being labelled "aged to perfection" although she is the same age as me!)

another journal page... I was watching You Tube and saw one of the Paperartsy followers playing with the new stamps from Seth - the words particularly.

she had inked the words in (black ink) and then added some of the paint - I used the tomato and the rusty fresco you spread a bit of paint over a surface (she used an acrylic block I used my craft mat) and then stamp the stamp onto the paint before transferring it to your journal page  - only tried it on the "tortured texture" words  but like the grungy effect and will be using it again.
then I finished the pink page from last week - added a few bits to the little tag and fixed the tag to the page.

I did start another page but I think this is enough for one week - and besides, I might not do anything this weekend and will be forced to stage a desk next time!!

I also had a nice morning at Kew, it turned sunny and almost felt mild!

the witch hazel is coming out nicely

Next Saturday is the first day of the orchids festival so there will definitely be colour then!

Thanks for looking, will catch your desks very soon.  Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 738

Hi deskers,  it's Wednesday again - the last one in July... WTH? (trying not to swear) Anyway, Wednesday, desk day. WOYWW day.

A slightly ore productive non desk this week.

but first, an anniversary atc and badge - a replacement, from beloved head desk girl Julia, as the original got lost in the post.

with a cute card.  which I seem to have photographed very badly!

thanks so much Julia!

Now, to my productivity...

I used the scraps I had left from the journal page 2 weeks ago and turned them into 2 cards.

I spent some time rummaging in a box of stamps for a greeting for the one on the left,  until I used a different one completely

I had to move a load of stuff from the top of the box (its the one behind my "desk" that has the basket full of more stuff sitting on top of it

to see what was inside.. I knew there'd be some text-y stamps in there and oh look, my peg stamps top right.   I wonder when I last opened this box!
this basket here...

and I made the start of another background with some of Seth's older stamps and a more purple-y colour way

Saturday was of course, Kew... another lovely visit
just one tempting photo as this has been a long enough post.

a gorgeous flowering cactus in the Princess of Wales conservatory.

Thanks for looking, happy WOYWW!
