I have to start by talking about the tragic news about Zoe's son. Zoe was a big part of WOYWW for a long time and we followed her son Keagan's career as a jockey with interest. I was stunned beyond belief to see via Facebook and then on the BBC website, about his untimely death in a race at the weekend. I cannot begin to know what Zoe and the rest of her family are going through.
I am sure all deskers who knew Zoe will feel the same.
So, desk time then... I had another delivery in the week - the last for a while I think. (probably)
some new paints from Dina, very pretty colours!I carried on in my A5 sized journal...
and made a couple of cards...
The first weekend of Kew's Orchid Festival was fabulous lots of colour in the Princess of Wales conservatory...
the animals the team makes always make me smile

Well technically for here I'm very late as its after 5pm, but that's your 6am so it works! Praying for Zoe's family, not on FB but do remember her, so sad.
Lovely new paints too... and so you painted with black gesso over first page. Who'd have thought.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well for 2024!

Sad news indeed Helen. Love how you saved that journal page with the new colours and the birds. Sorry about Liverpool's loss too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
That was a tragic accident wasn't it, point to point courses can be a tad a treacherous compared with the flat.
Like you playing catch up and still not up to speed, having to comment with voice recognition so hit and miss.
Was a shock about Klopp and not good Sunday, but hopefully onward and upwards.

Keagan’s death has really shaken me up this week, I just can’t imagine what Zoe and family are going through. I went to the crowdfunding page to donate and saw that it’s now over £35,000 with so many donations from people in the racing world and the GasHeads too. I love the new colours of paints and you’re right, that definitely is a Gashead blue, I remember Zoe’s hair being that colour at the Crop in Burbage!

I agree it was very sad news about Keagan, we forget what a dangerous sport it can be and I really feel for Zoe. Loving your journal pages but daren't look at the new paint until I've worked my way through all the old stuff I need to use up before it dries up!. Have a lovely woyww. Hugs Angela x9x
This has shaken me to the core. Losing a child at any age is hard, but to lose one so tragically is just devastating. An art journal is a helpful place when life is difficult, isn't it? Your pages and cards are always so wonderful. You inspire me to just SO IT and make AJ pages. It's been too long...
It's WOYWW day!

Such as tragedy, no mother should have to bury their son and they were so close and I cannot begin to imagine how she is feeling.
Well, for a "saved" page I love the journal page with the birds on. Are they embossed in white EP? Your A5 page is lovely and I love how you merged the word 'imagine' together.

The news about Keagan's death has really rocked my boat this week. My thoughts are with Zoe and family.
You've been very busy this week....love the new paints.

Gracious Helen, talk about a rescue...that page is beautiful. Although I struggle to believe that it was really a wreck! I agree, those new paint colours are nice. The Gasheads blue made me smile, we all have Zoe on our minds dont we. I'm not an orchid fan particularly, but my, at this time of year, can't but appreciate a splash of colour, it's an amazing display.
We never know do we . . . . so sad . . . .
Love those birdy pages . . .
have a good week

Love your backgrounds.love that blue in the first one against the darker background. Happy WOYWW. Angela #12
Yes, very sad news, he was obviously well liked and loved what he was doing with his life. 😢
I love those new paint colours! Must look out for them! And I like how you used them on the journal page with the birds. I first read your text as "I got wrecked and..."😄 I'm sure that would never happen! Your other journal pages look great as well, I like the pop of colours. Those little lemurs (?) are so cute! Kew looks like it's warming up to a glorious spring! Have a great week, Lindart #18
Oh they are indeed glorious colours, especially alltogether like that. Glad you've got to use them already too. Zoe would definitely love the blue - it reminds me of her hair! Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #11
Love how you saved your journal page with the new colours and the birds. Your Kew photos of the orchids were stunning.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Great save on your journal page! The Imagine page is also very nicely done!
Cards are my thing and yours are lovely! I love all things purple!
Thanks for the visit and sweet comment! Be well!
Hugz,

Oh I do like those paint colours, striking but soft if you see what I mean, especially so on a black background. Super A5 page. Oh those animals would make me giggle too. Hugs BJ#15
Hi Helen
Thanks for the late pop 'round. I just can't seem to be on time for anything when Bob is home. Much rather be playing cards and dice games with him. LOL
Lovely pieces. Yes, sometimes you just need to start with a clean ( or in this case, dark) slate. Love the colors against that black.
Thank you for taking us to Kew. One place I would love to visit.
Creative Blessings & Hugs! ~ Kelly #19
