WOYWW 515

Here we are again, Wednesday and desk hop day for WOYWW .  One week closer to the tenth anniversary and the crop, to which I am still working out if  I can get to (multiple trains required)
But before then, new stash to share!
I collected my goodies from the sorting office on the way to work last week

the more I looked at last week's journal page, the more I agreed with you all that said it looked like a river or a sea, or a map.

so I added some Paperartsy stamps (by Scrapcosy, the lovely Raquel)
then I also had to try out some of the new leaves from the sets above,  and lots of different greens.

Added some modelling paste through a circles stencil..

it's not finished yet (story of my life!) but it's a good start

Just over 5 years ago, almost to the week, I was lucky enough to visit Paris for the Version Scrap craft show, and had a day sightseeing in Paris... we didn't get to go inside Notre Dame, just saw it from the outside... so my heart broke yesterday when I watched the fire destroying so much of it.   I am so glad they are pledging to restore it - going to take time and an awful lot of money, but so worth it

Lots of you saw my link to the Kew photos last week and the Chihuly display.. here if you didn't - going again this week, it was fabulous - if you can get there, do!!  (it's on till October)

Morning Helen, love those journal pages, the stamps are perfect for the backgrounds. I am very drawn to those leaf sets. I have only visited Notre Dame once and it was back in 1989 when the 200 year celebrations of the French revolution and 100 years of the Eiffel Tower were on. We went inside and up the towers at the front and I even managed to attend Mass in one of the side chapels. Thank goodness so much of the building was preserved and a rebuild is possible. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #?

Wow, I love that last pic - I've always liked Chilhuly's work but it looks particularly amazing in Kew! The ship is the perfect addition to the journal page, it really looks like an ancient map now!

I didn't see a sea scape last week but now as I look at your journal it is perfect. |What a great story you can weave around that as you look at it. Fantastically Fabulous!
Nice haul from the Post Office.

I had only just stopped crying over Eppy when I saw the news about Notre Dame ...started me off again! Fire is a bringer of death and has no favourites either, just hungry. France will recover, she always does.
Love that green journal page, stunning.
Have a good week

How do you KNOW it isn’t finished? looks perfect from here! Love the new stamps in your hands! The Kew photos were absolutely even more stunning than usual, we are definitely going to visit before the exhibition closes. I shall be putting my foot down with a very firm hand.

Hi Helen. That blue and gold page is gorgeous - my sailing son in law would just gaze in awe and wonder where the sailing ship was heading!!! The green page is really coming on - the leaf stamps are great - especially the oak.
Do hope you can get to the crop - don't forget last week's email - the offer is most definitely there!
Take care. God bless.

The ship is a gorgeous and a great focal point, and I love the soft greens of your leafy pages - really lovely.

Helen, I adore your pages!! What you've done with the "map" one is stunning. I keep telling myself I want to get that stamp set because I love any theme relating to the sea, maritime, sea creatures. It has such a lovely vintage look! The leaf one is beautifully subtle. Really great work, both pages! I haven't sat at my desk for weeks... Too busy with other creativity atm, including building my new website which is proving a lot more time consuming than I'd hoped, but should be worth it in the end.

Beautiful photo of Notre Dame from an angle not often seen. Interestingly enough, this view shows pretty much all that was burning, doesn't it? It is very sad, but no one was hurt, and relics and art work were saved, and lots of very rich people are donating to have it rebuilt. I have heard several religious people comment on how significant it was that it happened at Easter, rebirth and all.
Your journal pages are awesome, I love the ship on the blue! I am going to play with modelling paste in my junk journal, so it's nice to see what you are doing with it as well! Thanks for sharing, have a great week! Lindart #27

Ooh wow Helen, you really made that journal spread look like an old world map, I love the textures. And I think people all over the world had breaking hearts watching those flames it's amazing that they saved so much of it as old as it is hopefully the rebuilding will make it much stronger for the next 1000 years. ~Stacy #29

Those journal pages are stunning, love the look of the first one - an old world map! It is so tragic about Notre Dame isnt it - I saw it back when i was 18 and my Mum took me for a girls weekend to Paris to see the sights. I am so relieved that the main rose window looks to have survived. Thanks for sharing and Happy WOYWW. Have a great week, with love & God Bless, Caro x (#15)

That ship on the seascapelike page was just the ticket, love the new leaves. As yes the last time I was abroad was 22 years ago and it was Paris too and same as you I only saw Notre Dame from the outside as well. It's a year since I really crafted, blogged and linked but hope I'm getting my mojo back. BJ#24

Lovely artwork and photos. You're lucky you got to see Notre Dame. I cried when I saw the live news coverage of it burning Monday. And so close to Easter. It's very sad. (I'm in the US and hoped one day to be able to visit Paris to see it, but now, with them needing to rebuild...)

Fabulous stash. .. Great choices. Love your journal pages too.

I join in your sadness about Notre Dam. Delighted it's being re built.

Those pages are lovely Helen.
I had never managed to go to Notre Dame in Paris - such a devastating loss. Anne x 18

Thanks for your return visit, Helen, and I'm sorry you had to search for the comment button! It's rather small, I'm afraid... I am hoping to be able to customise that once I've finished setting up the basic site. It's proving very difficult because I don't really know what I'm doing and am learning on the job! Thanks for your good wishes for its progress, anyway. Don't worry about not reading the dentist post! I almost didn't read it myself lol!! I am less frightened than I was, though, and that's all down to our really nice dentist. Have a great week!

Hi Helen, I love the journal page with the ship. It definitely does look like a map.

Your greens page is fab.

I'm so pleased they are going to rebuild Notre Dame. It will take a long time, as the specialists needed are a small number.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Happy WOYWW

Those leaf stamps look fabulous Helen, not seen those ones they are usually the first things I rush to purchase if I see.. (Sitting on hands time!) Great pages for continued play, it's good to have pages we can keep putting input into.
The Kew display looks incredible, imagine living in a garden like that!! Sigh..
Have a super Easter & enjoy your eggs... I know I will once Lent is over ;)

Hi Helen, your journal pages look great. I missed last week, but it does indeed look like a map. I was so saddened by the news of Notre Dame. I went a few years ago with my sister and our daughters. I'm glad they are rebuilding it. Looking forward to meeting you at the Crop if you manage to get your journey sorted. Have a lovely week, and a wonderful Easter, Heather x #8

I'm so glad you shared the photo of Notre Dame. I was devastated when I saw it burning like that. I've already left you this same comment on your photo blog, but wanted to leave one here, too.

For reasons I won't go into, I have been locked out of blogger. This is a devastating problem for me, especially since I am in the middle of my recycle campaign. However, I have set up a HOPEFULLY temporary blog to get me through until I can reclaim mine. Please tell everyone you know, and please visit me starting tomorrow (April 20) at:

https://alteredbooksandmixedmedia.blogspot.com/

Even if you don't normally visit me daily, I could use the support right now.

Oh, I so need those new Courtney stamps - your green leafy page spread is fabulous - and now I think I'm going to need those new HPs too - thanks for that! Love the ancient map spread too - works beautifully with the Scrapcosy nautical stamps.

I couldn't bear looking at the footage of Notre Dame - so very sad - all those centuries of craftsmanship. What a glorious photo you captured on your day out.

I am having to fine where I was when I last commented - my phone has been useless as far as commenting on blogs! We left on the day of the fire and wren back in London when we saw the sad news! Great to see how your journal page turned out! Bought two of those sets, the one bad thing about retiring - or maybe we should cut down on traveling!!! Hugs, Chrisx
