WOYWW 516 - another journal page on the go

Hi deskers, time to play WOYWW again - week 516... nearly time for the crop - I am about to book a fiendishly expensive train ticket - you don't seem to be able to get advance saver fares to Colwyn Bay (- the wonderful Margaret has offered me a  bed for Friday and Saturday nights ) - really looking forward to it, especially as I missed the last one.

But before then, I've been shopping again... only the stuff hasn't arrived yet!
Didn't get round to playing with Powertex again over the long Easter weekend ( a spot of gardening and a lovely trip to ...... Kew of course... Chihuly and tulips..stunning!)

I did another couple of journal pages though...

this one (bit more info in the post before this which some of you have already seen)

still needs a title or something but it's mostly finished
 and a second one..

I liked it lots at this stage,

some leftover background stuck on the page, then added some more colour (stopped liking it)  added some more colour - all distress oxide sprays) - (got better again.)

scribbled circles...  nearly stopped at that point..

tried out some of the new JoFY flowers from a couple of weeks back.. added some pen colouring

still like it, but it's a bit full. (almost stopped liking it)

Definitely not finished - how do I know Julia asks..

needs words - not sure what words, yet, and probably some white highlighting.  maybe re-emphasise the circles...  I will keep faffing!
hopefully next week the new goodies will be here (Country View Crafts had an Easter sale and I fell for it!)  Till then,  happy desking!

Morning Helen. So glad that you are coming to the crop, it will be great to finally meet in person. Perhaps you could add some hand written journaling following the edges of those circles? I like where the page is heading! Happy WOYWW. Sarah #6

Great journal pages Helen all very different in composition but each with their own special quality. I find it sometimes good to take a step back and leave them and those little extra's needed to finish off just seem to find their way.

Yup! Always hard to tell if a page is finished or not! We can leave it for a week or a month and go back and add something to it. Happy WOYWW!!! :^) patsy

Well I like both journal pages. Wish I was adventurous enough to do big bold designs like you do - these are wonderful.
Can't wait to see what this week's spending has been on - if only I had known about the sale I might have been tempted. Seems ages since I bought anything. Instead I just enjoy your shopping sprees these days but I am definitely behind on trends now.
Off to see you at `Kew!

Your pages are gorgeous as always, Helen. I smiled at your description of the second one - liking it, almost, not... If you put words on it they could be what the page might itself be thinking - “She loves me, she loves me not!” Whatever eventually goes on these pages, they are both stunning. So glad you are able to enjoy the beauties of Kew. It must be so nice to have it close enough by that you can visit regularly. Our Devon countryside is now entering its most beautiful - my absolute favourite time of year, with the cherry and May blossoms and all the wildflowers in the hedgerows.

Fabulous pages Helen, the blue/green flowers are stunning - I love that colour combo, and I love your comment on the other floral pages about almost not liking it -I go through that stage with almost everything I make! I'm sure the right words will come to you soon and then you will feel 100% satisfied with it!
Have a great week,

How kind of Margaret. I’ve been unable to extend an offer of a lift or accommodation because I’m going much earlier, via friends etc. for the ‘midlands’, it’s all a bit difficult to get to!!! I think you’re being influenced by Chilhuly, your journal pages show separate colour blocks and images. loving it!

I cant resist those pesky craft sales either and I'm so familiar with that "faffing" stage! I'm sure you'll find the right words to match your pages - they always emerge after a while - I really like Shoshi's suggestion! Happy Wednesday! zsuzsa #24

Hi Helen, love your new JoFy stamps. Spotted a new set with stencil recently and now I'm debating as to whether I should treat myself. I might take a bit of talking persuading 😀 Spotted a news item on the glass exhibit at Kew last week - absolutely stunning. Transporting them must have been a problem. Looking forward to meeting you at the crop - not long now. Elizabeth x #32

Thank you for your visit today and kind comments. Powertex is well outside my comfort zone, too messy and I don't know what I would do with my results. It is the opposite nd of the craft spectrum from parchment craft. Have a great time this week. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #26

it is so fun for me to see the processes of these journal art pages. I don't do them but, I get it from making backgrounds for cards. ( not often, I usually don't take the time) but, it ends up being a ah ha feeling watching them unfold and it makes me smile. thanks for sharing Helen, ~Stacy #34

You can tell it's springtime with all these florals! Love the blue green blooms, and the scribbly circles are really cool. I don't think the JOFY flowers have over-filled the page - I like it a lot. Hope you find the right words to make you happy.
