WOYWW 611 - Farewell, chief enabler!

It is with heavy heart that we report for WOYWW duty this week, as our lovely, kind, enabling, friend, Shaz, lost her fight at the weekend and joined the crafty desks in the sky.... it goes without saying that we will all miss her immensely.

There have been many heartwarming tributes on Doug's Facebook pages from which I hope he will take comfort in time to come, and both Julia and Jan have written beautifully. Everyone who met her, or knew her through WOYWW loved her., and her lovely Hublet, Doug, who cared for her so valiantly, as well.

I tried to create something to honour Shaz's memory at the weekend but it wasn't happening. So I have bits and pieces...

I was trying to capture Shaz's fabulously coloured hair with this stencil.....
and couldn't work out what to do next.

still thinking, 4 days later.

then I started playing with new toys!

which arrived at the end of last week!

maybe this is how I can honour Shaz best, after all!!  my fellow Enabler.

I'm just showing off now, how many journals on the go?!!!

so, Shaz, farewell, rest in peace.

I hope, when we can meet again at a crop some time in the not too distant future, we can celebrate your life as it should be celebrated.  Till then,  "happy" WOYWW.

Lovely pages, and the colourful hair would have called Shaz to mind for anyone who knew her. I never expected that hair, the first time I met her, but then it was just her, who she was. I hope you figure out where to take the page and share it when you do.

Have a good Woyww
You’ll laugh when you see the birds on my desk,

It's hard to know where to begin isn't it Helen, when someone has always been there and then they are gone.
Shaz will be extremely proud of you playing with those new goodies, good work with those little miracles called scribble sticks.
Take care of yourself.. Hugs Tracey x

If ever there was a time to use and play with new stuff, Shaz would be delighted! a and it starts immediately for me, I see you have the scribble sticks - I have some Lyra water soluble crayons that I love to use on solid stamps etc, are they similar, I wonder? So glad you’ve got lots of journals. Why the heck shouldn’t you have!! Whatever makes you 😃 works for me!

Fab pages Helen, and yes indeed, a lovely way to honour Shaz - you are now flying the Enabling flag alone but you will do a good job I'm sure!
Have a good week and enjoy those journals.

I think, although we all knew it was going to happen, that Shaz's passing hit us very hard over the weekend. I spent most of the time just messing about on the computer. As my blog says I did sweet nothing all week. Maybe now I have faced writing something it will change.
I admire you for trying to do a tribute page - I think it is fine as it is.
Hugs, Neet 17 xx

Hey, Helen.

Sending you a big hug. It's hard, isn't it?

I have an idea for your journal page, feel free to use or discard the idea as you see fit - how about adding the quote that Julia shared on Monday "She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten" ? I think that would suit, mightily.

Lots a love

How touching that you would create a page inspired by Shaz's hair. It's perfect the way it is with this special sentiment behind it. Shaz's memory will live on in WOYWW, I'm sure - we'll all bump into supplies and ATCs/Cards that she sent us and will remember her fondly. xx zsuzsa #31

I’m sorry I’m so late visiting this week. I’ve been head down making Memory bears this morning.
It’s so lovely to see how Shaz has influenced so many of us. She will be missed but we will all keep her in our hearts I’m sure.

Ohhh Helen, you made my heart ache!!! So, so sweet and her hair was the best!!! I think her legacy will definitely live on in us all who copped an idea or two from her, but you definitely have the corner on the market for continuing the "enabling!" I think the two of you had a contest going on!!! LOL Speaking of which, love all those goodies I see in your basket!! And the starts with the journals at using them!! Blessings to you Helen, Felicia #34

Love your face page, what a lovely idea. The thinking part seems to take ages sometimes. I am trying to get my stencilling technique improved. Texture paste seems to be working the best so far. Although still a little seepage. Have fun with your art. Angela #21

It's a fab idea to use some of your stash to create a lovely Shaz memory - it's just so hard to be really creative when we are feeling sad isn't it. She left so many memories for so many of our WOYWW buddies - certainly a crafting legend. We WILL get together and celebrate her life one day soon. xx Jo

Your pages are awesome and there is nothing wrong with showing off! :D)

It is difficult to get your "mind right" when you lose someone who is special in your life. When you are able to focus, you will create something amazing to honor your friend. I am fairly new to WOYWW so I did not know Shaz as you did. I did, however, love visiting her page. She seemed so unbound, so free, and that is what I remember most. I think it is a fabulous way to approach life.

Oooh yes, Helen, keep up the good work with the new stuff in honour of our lovely Shaz. Your first picture is half-way there! Her hair was something to celebrate, wasn't it. I still can't believe she's gone and there will be no further brilliant posts on her fabulous blog. I am glad Doug is keeping it up as it's such a great resource for us all. I shall miss her greatly.

I love all your other stencilled pieces too - great work!

Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you liked my hubby's Valentine card. The blender issue is resolved more or less to my satisfaction because at least it works again. You are right - there always seem to be battles to be fought over something or other! The trouble is these days, nobody seems willing to take responsibility for anything, and it takes stroppy people like Yours Truly to hold their feet to the fire and get them to do what they should have done from the beginning! My hubby hates this attitude and thinks I should just let everything go, but I can't - it makes me angry!!!

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #25
