WOYWW 579

Here we are again - ready to meet up with Julia who hosts WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday)  for week 579.
This week I am enabling again - I had a birthday voucher for the Stampers Grove from my friend Lesley and as always it came very quickly

my Art Journalling magazine subscription came too,

I decided that I would buy myself something to bump up the order and make it worth while ordering (as you do!)  so I added another stamp set and a stencil (you know I can never have too many stencils)

I actually got some journalling done at the weekend - two pages!

I used some patterned paper from my limited (ahem) supplies and a couple of stencils I've never used before...

this one needs words still

I then used the same stencil in my other journal

added some centres to the flowers with a dotty stamp

it was looking a bit empty.....

added a script stamp in white spaces,

still a bit empty...
so I  gesso'd over the whole page  to push the first images into the background and put some more on top, both stgencilling and the script again.

Paints are Paperartsy Frescos

sentiment is from a JoFY set

Had a busy week, had the 48 hour heart monitor Wednesday and Thursday,  which was very inconvenient for sleeping and washing!    Then on Monday I had the cardio-MRI so we'll see if either throw up any ideas of why I had the original dizzy spell or whether I can just get on (as I have been doing anyway!)
I'll be round to see what you've all been up to soon.

Morning Helen. Loving those pages! Well done. I'm sure that monitor was really inconvenient to use - hope the results come back just fine!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Morning Helen, I do like that stencil, and what you have done with it. Lovely work.
Hope the tests can identify the cause of your fall, and docs can work out to prevent any further falls and black eyes!
Bless you

Good luck with the MRI results.
Love your journaling. Love how you gessoed over the first layer and restamped.
Need to do more in my journal!

I would have ten of those heart monitors fitted for however long rather than an MRI. I now they are inconvenient but the thoughts of being in a tube just freezes me!
Know what you mean about the inconvenience of having those contraptions fitted for washing etc but at the moment I am not knowing when I can shower! This darned leg! Very hard to wash my now long hair too.
I just hope it shows that it was just a blip of some kind in your body and there is nothing amiss. The sooner you are able to forget about it and the better.
Just make sure you get those new stencils used up, have fun, use your newfound magazine to give you lots of great ideas. And don't forget to show us the results, please.
Hugs, Neet 11 xx

Your so right about stencils, they are one thing I never feel guilty about buying, lovely choice and your pages are fab, especially love the double page one. Gesso is a great thing to blend images into our backgrounds.
Fingers crossed on positive news on your results.. Happy WoywW Tracey #12 xx

Glad you’ve been getting on without incident...i wonder if your days of kneeling on the floor might be numbered...did you get up too fast and your blood couldn’t keep up with you? I know that would happen to me if I knelt to work!! I will be pleased to hear that the test reveal nothing though! I like the stencils you’ve used, very nice ones indeed. Great idea with the gesso to reduce the original images, i must remember that when i next cause something to be overdone, which is often, because I seem to fail constantly at knowing when to stop!!

I love your pages and especially the gesso one - the layering is really effective. I really like the Mixed Media stencils, fab little motifs. I do hope your results are good and you can move on and put it all behind you - I'll have everything crossed for you!

Hi Helen, great pages and stencils, love the idea of the space in the middle. I looked at the magazine, but thought it was a bit pricey! I do like to see before I buy :)

Happy WOYWW. Some fine looking new stash there. I was just reading up on Facebook about cutting your own stencils with a Cricut machine, so put some mylar in my Amazon basket and will attempt to design my own stencils. Just the sort of thing I enjoy. Hope your test results show you are ok now. Ali x #29

Gorgeous stencilling pages, Helen, and it's fun watching you experiment with your lovely new stash! I hope you have had a good week and possibly got to Kew again.

Thank you for your visit - so glad you like my purple outfit, co-ordinating with the garden lol!! I had a brilliant session in the kitchen today and made several favourite recipes for lunch tomorrow - only a few finishing touches tomorrow before a fairly early start to get to E. Dorset by lunch time. I am impressed with the women's health team and from thinking at the beginning that they wouldn't be able to do anything, I am now really optimistic that things can improve. Even if I don't ever get sensation back, at least the advice to go more frequently has prevented that awful urgency and discomfort and I know I'm not causing over-stretching of the bladder any longer.

I hope you are OK now and that your arm has healed up!

Happy WOYWW,

I adore those Donna Downey daisies - they've played a part in some art journalling pages of mine too. They look amazing in that rich red colour, and I love how you gesso'd and added another layer of flowers. It gives it such depth.

I hope all those heart tests will result in some sort of helpful information to keep you safe from further dizzy spells and falls. Keeping fingers firmly crossed that you get to carry on carrying on!
