WOYWW 578

Morning fellow deskers, it's whizzday again  - WOYWW where we meet at Julia's to share our creative spaces.
Well my space isn't creative at all... but I am sharing the birthday cards I received - other people's crafting!

it was hard photographing them on the window sill as the light doesn't help, but thank you to everyone who sent one.

I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow to pick up my 48 hour heart monitor so they can see what my heart rate is up to now I am a bit more mobile (as opposed to sitting on a hospital bed)   and then on Monday next week at a different hospital for the heart MRI
Hopefully they will find nothing and I can get back to being normal!

I did go to Kew on Saturday, and the photos are on the other blog here (feels so good to be able to link to that again!)  Hope you enjoy them!

I did link a few pics to FB on Saturday whilst I was there, in the rain including the one of me with big hair

I am thrilled to report that I now have an appointment next week to have it cut and coloured again.  Cannot wait

(you will have to though as it is for next Thursday so after next week's desk reveal!!)

this was one of my favourites from Saturday, Eryngium  (sea holly)  shining in the sun that did make an appearance.

I coped well with walking for nearly 4 hours so I think I am ok!

I'll catch up with your desks after work as there won't be time for visiting before I head to the hospital first thing

Happy desk day!

Morning Helen. Golly - I can't believe how much your hair has grown! Hope today goes well as you learn all about using the heart monitor. Great photos of your cards - you had some great ones! So glad you had a really long time in your favourite garden - must pop over to peek at the photos. The sea holly is amazing.
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

Lovely cards even if I couldn't see them in great detail - isn't it nice to know people have spent time making a card for you?
Good luck with the heart monitor, I've had my share of those things I hope it proves there is nothing wrong but if you are having an MRI that gives lots of information.
Glad you managed Kew, bet you and Kew gave a big sigh as you walked in, it probably missed you during lockdown.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx

Lovely to see you back at Kew - I'm so glad you had such a nice day there! I'm sure the monitors/scans will show nothing amiss but you weren't normal in the first place, so you won't be going back there, lololol!!!!

Mostly lovely cards Helen, it seems a fair few have a similar colour thing going on, what a coincidence. Well of course I’m hoping that the heart monitoring thing reveals nothing, but also hope the appointment goes smoothly and your blood pressure remains constant! So glad you got to Kew, it must have felt lovely to have all that space and the photo ops again. Bit jealous about your hair appointment, luxuriate in it, wont you!

Lovely cards, Helen!
Love that sea holly too.
My hair is out of control - now more than 4 months since it was cut. Hope to make an appointment soon...

Happy Belated Birthday !!! WOW, what a nice collection of birthday cards. Awesome! - An idea: When you take photos with the light in the background you might either use a mirror behind you (behind the camera) or a big piece of white carbon or paper. As a former photographer, I often used those tricks.
I really understand well why you love Kew that much, I did too when I was in UK several years ago.

Thinking of you tomorrow!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Happy WOYWW

Happy belated birthday Helen! I don't know how I missed it on facebook - well to be honest I am not very active on FB. Very nice cards you got from your friends and I think your photos from Kew were stunning - I love the sea holly! I think it is an amazing flower!
Love and hugs,

I love that sea holly! I'm wondering if I could grow that in my garden. Funnily enough, I thought it was a thistle which would have matched rather nicely with the wonderful resist card I can see among your lovely cards. Best wishes for all your appointments this week. Have a lovely week, Lisa-Jane #15

Hi Helen, I've kind of got used to having long hair but as it's very thick it will be good to get it trimmed. I have an appointment on Saturday so not long to wait. Loving your card collection, so many beautiful designs. Hope the hospital visits go well too. Happy woyww, Angela x20x

I was thrilled to see you back at Kew cos I know what it means to you. Really hope all the health tests go well...I chuckled at Jan's comment...how rude :-)
I was really desperate for a hair appointment when it was really hot but now it's cooled down a bit I'm coping better and as yet I'm not rushing to go anywhere where there are small spaces and other people.

4 hours walking, wow! Kew is so pretty and your photos are magnificent. I hope all of your tests go well and you can get on with life. I had pushed my hair appt out until July 17th. I am so nervous to go. It's a small salon and masks and sanitation practices are in place. I'm just nervous. But I would like to get a cut and color before another complete lockdown gets enforced. I think the last time I was in for all that was in January so I am more than overdue. Well I need to go make some more tea. But you take care, my friend. I am glad you feel good. That is a good sign.

So nice to see you back a Kew. Love the slate towers too. I had a bit of a Kew experience only this morning, finally bumped into a couple from dancing who live nearby and got to see their garden and two next door gardens via a joining gate, all of which had been in the open gardens scheme earlier this year. Lovely birthday cards you received, Helen. I am so glad you managed to get to Kew! It must have been like a fix, after a long absence! I shall hop over and have a look at your post in a minute. What lovely curls you have got!! Still, I expect like most people you'd rather have it straight, just as I, with my straight hair, would rather it was curly!! So good that you've got a hair appointment lined up - another first after a long break. I am sure the hairdressers will be rushed off their feet.

Thank you for your visit - I am looking forward to my second telephone appointment about my bladder tomorrow and seeing what she says. I have sent her my bladder diary already so she's got time to have a look at it before we speak. I have to set the timer to remind me to go, and then I leave it in another room and don't hear it, or I can't find it!!
So glad you like my green cardigan. I can't actually believe I've finished it at last, after 25 years...

Happy WOYWW,

It appears I will be late visiting for awhile. I am trying to learn my limit, since my "good eye" is also the one that is under the patch and my "less good eye" tires easily. I hope you understand why I'm late visiting to wish you a very belated, but heartfelt birthday. Sorry I can only read and write for so long until my eye gives out. Obviously not playing, just wishing you a happy birthday and hoping against hope all is well with your heart.

Hi Helen, I'm going to start making a note of people's birthdays and anniversaries, then I can remember to make and post cards! You received some lovely cards. I love the photo of your big hair - but I'm sure you will be happy once you have had your trip to the hairdressers. I haven't contacted mine yet - I will do eventually. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #16

Oh Helen thank you for the visit. So many great photos. Wishing you well with your appointment and hoping for a great recovery.Your walking will help all.
Love that sea holly, we have thistles that resemble this, lots of stickers and farmers don't like them in the fields. They spread too fast. What a lovely grouping of cards. I quit sending cards out of USA so many not letting mail in or out I made a few for Christmas before the pandemic and I don't know if they arrived or not. Happy week ahead and enjoy a Good WOYWW kind of day

Hi Helen.
Thanks for your visit earlier. I've just been swooning over your Kew photos, and agree that you can't beat poppies! Also share your passion for sea holly. There was a swathe of it at our local park last year, and I was absolutely obsessed! I gathered some seeds and planted them in a pot this spring, but sadly none of them grew. I'm determined to get some growing in my garden one day though!
Hope all goes well with the testing and scanning, and glad you were on the receiving end of all those lovely birthday cards - must have been lovely to open them!

Have a good week.

Happy Belated WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit. Gorgeous birthday cards - must be hard to put them away. So glad you enjoyed your trip to Kew and coped with the walking around. We went there a few years ago and I did struggle with the distances (lots of sitting down to rest, cafe stops etc!). Hope your hospital visits go ok. Ali x #18

That's a lot of cards you received, and isn't it the nicest thing to find all kinds of (self-made) cards in the mailbox on your birthday? I always look forward to open the mailbox when it's my b'day! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week, and your compliment about my new hair/look, I hope yours will turn out exactly like you wish too (but you'll have to wait a bit longer...) Oh yay! So happy to see you've been to Kew... I'll be hopping there next - what a glorious thistle (okay, sea holly - didn't know that, love it!). And what a fabulous array of birthday cards too. I like the hair, but I get that you'll enjoy celebrating with a cut and colour soon.
