WOYWW 580

whizz !  Wednesday again so time to share our crafty spaces with Julia at the Stamping-Ground

Not a lot has happened - apart from my hair cut!

I took this one on Saturday on the way to Kew

modelling Annie's mask (from the train journey)

I did have a play with the new stencil - just to try it out and it's not been added to since

I think I am going to like this stencil though

I hadn't wanted to get paints out so used Distress Oxides

there was a lot of ink left on the stencil so I spritzed it with water and turned the stencil over to transfer the reverse image to another journal  page

Last Saturday at Kew felt much more normal, more like the Kew of old... despite the social distancing in place and I had a really enjoyable few hours
the post about it with photos is here     and a couple of pics to tempt you to have a look!
 a nearly empty Temperate House
one of my favourite views at the Lake
looking across the new Evolution garden

I haven'[t booked a slot (yet) for this week so may give it a miss

Looking forward to seeing your crafty spaces - happy WOYWW

I have stencil envy. I know how expensive stencils are, when I tried to buy ONE recently. It was sadly outside my allowed budget. Your new one is great.

Again, as I told you before, I love your selfie. Great that you got a haircut. We are shutting our hair salons down again due to the virus. I didn't even have a chance to make an appointment.

Not playing, just stopped to say HI and to tell you the youngest youngster in CA said your hair goes nicely with your blue mask. Quite the compliment, I think.

Glad you managed to get a hairdressers appointment Helen. Doesn't it feel good to look normal again? Love the stencil and the reverse look works equally well. Stay safe and thanks for the visit. Sarah #?

I love the effect you've got with the stencil and the oxides. I much prefer the slightly muted notes you get with them sometimes. I love paint but sometimes it's lovely to use something more gentle isn't it? The flip over is great too. Loving the hair of course. Have a great week, Lisa-Jane #2

Feels good huh, having a haircut. I can tell you like it, even while wearing a haircut and sunglasses I think I can see you smile! That distress-ink effect through the stencil is really nice, how those colours blend into each other. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, big hug from Holland. Marit #20

Nice to see the Lockdown Chic look is a thing of the past and you've managed to get a haircut, Helen! I am so glad that Kew was more back to normal again, and that you obviously had a really lovely visit - fabulous photos as always. One day I shall get there!! I love your stencilled journal page, and especially the ghosty version which is so subtle and beautiful.

Thank you for your visit - really glad you like my needle book designs. I have started stitching the first one and it's coming out really well so far - pretty fine work and I need good light and magnification! Do you have a stair well in your house? If you haven't got room on the floor for a rug, you could perhaps hang it. We've got a magnificent Romanian woven rug that my hubby brought back, and in our present house it's on the floor for the first time - where we used to live, it hung in the stair well and looked fabulous. My hubby used to get furious because one of our kitties used to climb up it!!! I adore Oriental rugs. We haven't any genuine ones but the rugs we've got are based on those sort of designs. I'm glad to hear that the one you have got is rolled and not folded - my sister has one that got quite badly damaged because it was folded for several years.

Happy belated WOYWW,
