WOYWW 630

Welcome back happy desk peeps  - it's another Wednesday desk peek time... WOYWW week 630

Thanks for all your kind birthday wishes - my birthday was of course spent at Kew - it was Saturday, right!!  you can see the pics here

I had some birthday goodies - some from a friend, and some from me to me!!

the paints were to add to my Dina collection.

the denim purse was from Jan for my "caption competition" win from her post the week before last which came with a lovely card

these were from me to me

one or two more Dina stencils
that fell into my basket whilst
ordering the pre-order newest releases
from Dina!   3 new gloss spray paint colours - brand new colours
which will also be in paint form too, once Ranger can get the supplies sorted

and a couple of chipboard shape packs and some heavy duty watercolour paper

then I had some flowers (and a Marks & Spencer gift voucher) from work for my birthday..  It's a good job the buses are still quite empty, there was plenty of room on a seat for them and for me!

which I had to spread between 2 vases!

I didn't arrange them very well,  I must go back and do that!

I did do  a bit of crafting - well some I stamped out some images ready to grab for a journal page
when the mood takes me

not sure if it shows (it certainly doesn't as I am typing this in the evening gloom) but some of the multi-faces are in different colour ink - the only one I can tell for sure that isn't black, is the pink set of faces!

and then last week's Dina Wakley supporter group session saw her doing some abstract art in her journal... so I had a go at that too(it's not very abstract, it's too regimented I think)

which is how you find my floorspace/desk today... the new goodies not yet put away!

sorry this has been quite a photo-heavy post...

just one more  for you,  to tempt you to the Kew post linked above..

it was poppy heaven at Kew last week!
see you soon - but probably not till this evening after work

WOYWW 579

Here we are again - ready to meet up with Julia who hosts WOYWW (What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday)  for week 579.
This week I am enabling again - I had a birthday voucher for the Stampers Grove from my friend Lesley and as always it came very quickly

my Art Journalling magazine subscription came too,

I decided that I would buy myself something to bump up the order and make it worth while ordering (as you do!)  so I added another stamp set and a stencil (you know I can never have too many stencils)

I actually got some journalling done at the weekend - two pages!

I used some patterned paper from my limited (ahem) supplies and a couple of stencils I've never used before...

this one needs words still

I then used the same stencil in my other journal

added some centres to the flowers with a dotty stamp

it was looking a bit empty.....

added a script stamp in white spaces,

still a bit empty...
so I  gesso'd over the whole page  to push the first images into the background and put some more on top, both stgencilling and the script again.

Paints are Paperartsy Frescos

sentiment is from a JoFY set

Had a busy week, had the 48 hour heart monitor Wednesday and Thursday,  which was very inconvenient for sleeping and washing!    Then on Monday I had the cardio-MRI so we'll see if either throw up any ideas of why I had the original dizzy spell or whether I can just get on (as I have been doing anyway!)
I'll be round to see what you've all been up to soon.

WOYWW 526

Hello again and happy desk sharing day - thank you all so much for the warm birthday love you shared last week!   Let me give you the link to where you need to join in - here, with Julia
There are quite a few photos this week (not as many as when I go to Kew though, don't worry!) - hope I'll be forgiven!
I opened my gifts before I went to work (although the red envelope propped up is my gift from work)

some of the latest release distress oxide inks, some new versafine Clair inks and a Paperartsy stamp set

The work gift -
it's a voucher for a VIP day out at Anfield (home of Liverpool fc for the non-football fans amongst you)   this can be taken anytime in the next 12 months, I just need to log online  and book it up.

lots of you saw these pics on Facebook - at around 3.30 I was taken to our new (no longer new, we've had it 2 years)  office where I was greeted with this

afternoon tea party time!

pink champagne and dainty sandwiches and cakes, and of course scones and jam and cream (or cream and jam as you choose)

and a birthday cake too!

As you can see in the photo above this, I "saved" one of the napkins to do some mixed media art with!
there's the gift bag on the desk with my prezzie!

it was a very lovely way to finish off the afternoon!

I brought home some of the balloons and also had some flowers to get home too - luckily I didn't have to manage all this on the bus, I got a lift from Monica (my boss) !
a beautiful pot of lilies - which I stood on the window cill in the photo where every time I came out of any room or inside the front door, was hit by the scent (I know not everyone likes the smell of lilies, but I do)

a really pretty bouquet of flowers and a pot gerbera

they are now in the living room, getting wafted about by the breeze coming through the window!

(although the purple ones are starting to deflate now)

the flowers were a gift from the hairdressers downstairs from work where I have my hair done; which was really lovely of them.  I only have this photo I took on my phone and unfortunately given the extremely hot weather we had a the weekend they are starting to fade already.

and I had to take the cards down to photograph - I have only included the hand made ones

only one is from a desker though - the middle bottom row, made by Shaz but sent by Jan - two for the price of one!!

in the interests of keeping a bit shorter (oops)  I won't include the close ups of the cards, hope you can see them well enough  I am sure you'll recognise some of my favourite companies designs amongst them!

And finally (to coin a phrase) is the finished journal page that was on the "desk" last week,

I used some of the birthday gifts to finish it off with!

Right, I had better stop here, or I'll be excluded
Happy WOYWW everyone and see you soon!

and finally, finally, the link to Saturday's Kew (yes in 30 plus degree heat!)

WOYWW 421 - what a difference a week makes

Welcome deskers, time for another desk hopping extravaganza.   Luckily the heatwave finished and now of course we're having rain... I know the gardens need it, but does it have to!

Anyway, time for another link up with the holidaying Julia here.   I think I forgot to go back and check the late entries last week, oops me!

so, as nothing really changes here, there are new stamps and goodies to share with you! (and more on order, wow me!)  some new Paperartsy stamps designed by the lovely and talented JoFY - loving those and looking forward to inking them up... and the brush pens, by Ecoline, that I bought on Saturday when I stopped in Kingston on the way home from Kew (story about that here)  (still can't believe that what happened, happened!)       Well, Cass Art were having a sale, so.....
(I bet you're amazed I only got the pens!)

It was my birthday on Monday and I received some gifts from the folk at work - flowers (and some cash) from my boss Monica
gorgeous, aren't they?
and some other lovely gifts from the rest.  the bracelet sitting on bottom of the photo just about in shot, is really pretty

I will try not to kill the potted Gerbera too quickly....!

the gerbera came wrapped in a cardboard sleeve.. which was gorgeous.. so of course it gets saved .. look

how could you get rid of this!

I'll leave you with a bunch of fading Allium seed heads from Saturday. (and if you want to know the story you'll need to read the post, though lots of you have!)
