Hello and happy Wednesday again!! Can't quite believe it's time for another desk share... not a lot has changed since last week.
It is finally meant to be becoming less intensely hot... a little more bearable this evening (although I still have a fan on wafting the hot air about and it is warm and muggy this Tuesday evening as I write this ) and we are meant to get heavy rain here overnight... It was so hot at Kew again on Saturday I only stayed a couple of hours (pics here again!)
so last week I shared this journal page for France's ALAD/ASAW challenge - the splatters did make an appearance eventually
the following spread for the next week's prompt "what makes your heart bounce"
also got finished.
Kew, of course... I have used Kew as inspiration before for a prompt I think, but heck, so what!!
and week 29 theme - still in progress- is geometry and numbers.
no idea at all where this page is going.
It has about another 3 layers to go (given that it's a layer a day, a spread a week, in case you weren't sure of the ALAD/ASAW thing ...)
plenty of texture here so far - crackle paste, thick gesso (the white circles) and clear gel (you may not be able to see those circles!)
I am now only (only!) 3 weeks behind after this one...
I am still waiting for my new Oxide inks (the third and fourth sets, ordered all together) and I really hope they come soon!
Hoping that you are enjoying some cooler weather too... can't wait for it personally... till then - go visit some desks at Julia's The Stamping-Ground for WOYWW...

Love the colour continuity in those spreads Helen. That last one looks fabulous with all the layers of texture. I don't see the problem of using Kew as your inspiration more than once; it is a big part of your life after all. Hope the Oxides turn up soon (set 4 in particular is fantastic). Happy WOYWW. You've made great headway Helen, if the cooler weather kicks in you will be ahead of time before you know it. Wish I could see all those layers, bet they are so tactile. Kew is a great inspiration and deserves applauding again as a journal prompt. Look forward to seeing it finished.
Thanks for the visit & Happy WOYWW Tracey #6
P.S hope your DO#d turn up soon.
It cooled down a lot here last evening...by bedtime I was rushing around closing windows and trying to find the bedspread after weeks of just a sheet! I like it when you start a spread and don’t know where it’s going, it always ends up perfect anyway. You’ve got a lean toward the same colour group going on for the last few pages....is that prescribed or accidental? Have been MIA largely this last week, but yesterday saw the smashing work photo of you on FB...lovely lovely.
Loving your journal pages Helen. Hope it does cool down soon. No idea where the ribbon came from. Like you I got it and then it just sat there unused and I just cannot remember where I got it but it could have been the Range. Sending big WOYWW hugs, Angela x12x
Fab pages, I had no idea what the abbreviation meant -I don't know that I could do a layer a day - too much waiting around for me I think! I like your colour schemes and I think it's great to use Kew - it is obviously so very close to your heart.
Hope you have a great week,

Love the journal pages - super blend of colours. Like the geometrical one that's in progress. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a good day - Hazel, WOYWW #15 x
I don't think there's anything wrong with using Kew as inspiration a few times, it's a big part of your life! Lovely journal pages there, the colour palette floats my boat!
Hugs LLJ 9 xx
Gorgeous pages... I love the colours and interesting effects. I look forward to seeing the completed geometry one. Thanks for sharing. Have a lovely week. Caro x (#14)
Hi Helen, yes, a little cooler here today, actually it wen't surprisingly chilly yesterday evening, absolutely pleasant, lol. Pages look interesting, I'd be way more than 3 weeks behind, probably more like 3 months! I'm terrible with deadlines. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 XxX
Hi Helen, checked the ribbon and it's from Lakeland the cookware shop xXx
Happy WOYWW. I love that final page. I have seen the new Distress Oxide colours and they are looking very yummy. The only crafty stash I tend to buy now are the DO's - just one or two per month when I am at the local craft shop for a workshop. Ali x #16
Hi there - we are going through a heat wave right now - cant sleep worth a darn at night !! may have to get up and craft instead lol.
Always love your inspiration !

Well it's certainly been cooler today (positively nippy at times) but still lots of sunshine which keeps me smiling!! I even did the ironing this morning. I don't know where it's going either but that 3rd spread is calling to me. I'm sure it will be wonderful! Happy Wednesday, Cindy #20
Kew can never be a bad begining for inspiration! Thanks for your visit last week hope you get time to do the Paperartsy this week. x Amanda
Hi Helen, no problems with heat up her ... the heatwave has gone, it's cooler and we have rain. So much nicer for crafting. Your pages are lovely. Have a great and hopefully cooler, week ahead. Elizabeth X #26

Hi Helen, love the colours on your journal pages. We have had rain this last week, so the planned hosepipe ban was called off. It's still warm in the day, just a but cooler in the evenings. Have a lovely week Heather x #33
Before I start I must say it's good to visit here at last- events kind of overtook me! I'm hoping to get a catch up very soon! Your journal page looks fabulous and I hope to keep up now so I can see the new page! Hugs,Chrisx
Hi Helen! Your pages look great, I love it when I have no idea where a page is going! It will be so neat to see it finished! Hope your Oxides arrive soon! Thanks for your visit to mine! I have been to the Falls so many times, I don't miss them when I go. This past weekend was a holiday so it would have been a zoo! We do hear the fireworks though, every night at 10pm! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #25
Love your journal pages, and the colors and shapes you are using. Hooe it cools off for you soon. Happy WOYWW #29. Thanks for stopping by already.
What fun journal pages. I love working in my art journal it is so relaxing. Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #23
Lovely pages Helen. I think it is wonderful to have/use Kew as your inspiration! I am so glad it has cooled down and we had a deluge this afternoon, and then it stopped. Thanks for popping by. Anne x #4
Gorgeous pages, Helen, with a nice cool colour scheme for such hot weather! Very refreshing. Thank you for your visit. The soup doesn't taste very parsnipy! You are right about Ruby. I was beginning to think she'd developed the ability to walk through walls! It was really uncanny, spotting her outside yet again. Very difficult to get them in at the best of times but it's easier when they are hungry for their supper!
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #32
Great pages Helen!
Great pages Helen. Cooler and now pouring with rain here - so that's it for this summer I expect! Enjoy your crafting. xx Jo
I'm guessing these cool colours came out unconsciously as a response to the heatwave - love the look of all the pages. It's hard to recall the feeling of uncomfortable heat now... I had a hot water bottle last night!!
