WOYWW 459 - last's weeks new stuff

Welcome back.. time for another desk hop.  Julia leads the way here at the Stamping Ground
Luckily the snow we had again last weekend has all gone.. I couldn't be bothered to suffer yet more rail replacement bus journey to Kew so gave it a miss reluctantly!

Last week you may recall, I was waiting for new "stuff" to arrive..
which it did.. on Thursday (although I had to go and collect it from the post office sorting office as it had to be signed for...
4 new sets of stamps... 3 wordy quotes by Alison Bomber for Paperartsy and a Tim Holtz set... now just need to use them!

I've started a journal page 'just for fun'  there's a numbers theme going on - started with a stencilled clear gel and then added colour, wiping it off the numbers.

I've added some more numbers, stamping in the same colour ink only I seem to have not photographed that stage yet..

it's stagnated there, waiting for further inspiration!

have gone back to photograph the next stage(s) for you!
I stencilled some dots in the numbers for some double stencilling action as well.

Next week, I will have  more new stuff (once I start I can't stop....) I have been watching a lot of you tube videos and joined another facebook group for Dina Wakley and am SOOO tempted by her mixed media journal which incorporates watercolour paper, kraft card, linen and burlap (hessian) pages... just looking for a good price now!    Because, as we all know, you can NEVER have too many journals to play in...!

In the meantime, I may have ordered some more Dina stamps and a couple extra stencils...

Happy WOYWW deskers!

Oh Helen, can I ask .. are there any stamps that you have bought over the last few years that you have not used? Just wondering as you seem to have so many and I actually used from two sets, for the first time, I have had for ages, in my post today
Now the Dina journal? If you find a good price just give me a nod and I will do the same. I saw it at Creativation in January and fell in love with it. Been looking ever since.
Enjoy your stamps and I do like the numbers idea - might steal that if you don't mind.
Hugs, Neet (just behind you) xx

Busy desk! I love all the new stamps! I bought 3 new sets this week from WISH.com and can't wait till the get here...clear stamps free for the postage. $2 a set! I need to stay offline and away from that site! Great looking numbers page. It is all about the layers isn't it! I need to learn how to do that better! Hope you have a great week! Vickie #6

Everyone is buying new products how I envy you. Had to curtail my UK buying when I transferred by bank account to Spain. It works wonders. Sorry about the link up mess think I may have cracked it now with the second entry. Have a good week experimenting to your new stock. Ani

Happy WOYWW. Great new stamp sets - I would use them a lot. That Dina Wakeley journal sounds great - will go and investigate. Loving the numbers page so far - adding black or white pen always really lifts it. Yes, I am hoping that we find a Spanish property in our budget fairly easily (I do tend to fall in love with the expensive villas!) and that the legal stuff is not too stressful. I am just keeping in mind how wonderful it will be to fly out there with just hand luggage and to know where we are going to be staying, and that we will have a comfy bed there! Ali x #13

Oh Helen I’m chuckling here at your stash buying....I wonder who’s stash would fill the most boxes? I guess my material does take a little more room to hide than a stamp or two but several 100 stamps must fill a lot of boxes 😂😂😂 have a fun week my friend.

You'd better hide those text stamps from Julia - they'd float her boat I think! They are rather gorgeous, I have to say - look forward to seeing what you do with them. And journals are a must, you use them them so much - I hope the price comes down for you!

Crikey, those really are wordy stamps. Have to go to PA and read them now. We do craft in such different ways don’t we, I shudder st all the MM stuff...all that drying time and the need for 8 kerjillion mediums. And yet, I probably have I kerjillion bits to stick 9n a scrapbook page.!
I do it vicariously through you!! I’m glad the snow has gone too, was really quite offended by the weekend weather.

Hi Helen, that post made me laugh! I still seem to buy way faster than I actually use stuff. Far too easily distracted by something new. I'm sure Ally pally will add to the stash as well. Looking forward to it.Have to have a look at those quote stamps. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

LOVE the new stamps! Can't wait to see them in action! Your new journal page is coming along nicely, just pay attention to what it's telling you as you walk by and glance at it! I always leave my page open if I'm stuck, and it always tells me what to do next! Sometimes it yells at me if I don't do what it wants! LOL! Have a great week, Lindart #34

Love to see your page as it progresses, Helen. The numbers are looking great.

Thank you for coming back to my blog and looking at my Big Reveal, Helen. I really appreciate your feedback and I’m so glad you like it! You are right about having to work flat out to complete it in the 2 months. Everything else Chez Shosh has pretty much been neglected for the duration lol! No excuse now, though! I do feel a bit at a loose end now that it’s finished. I shan’t have time to settle down to anything else until I come home after my operation! I don’t suppose.

Well, I can't fault your choice of stamp sets! Can't wait to see what you get up to with them either... I love those dotty numbers, and I can thoroughly recommend the Dina journal too. I was extremely lucky to get one for $12 while in NYC - going to make the luggage pretty heavy though!!
