Craft Barn Q&L - 12. Proud/Vintage

The new quote/lyric challenge was announced today by the Craft Barn - either Proud or Vintage (or both)
The DT all used Proud, and I immediately thought of Heather Small's "Proud" before I saw Pauline's DT piece had - so I started searching, knowing I had something to fall back on if I couldn't find something that struck me...

In the end, I settled for Shakespeare, from Romeo and Juliet "Thank me no thankings, nor, proud me no prouds" from the speech by  Capulet to his daughter Juliet when she tells him she won't marry Paris but will marry Romeo, for love.
I got a bit carried away and didn't take any step by step photos, sorry!

I started by brayering Frescos, Cheesecake, Sage and Stone, over my pages, drying in between and smudging with a babywipe.
I tore the relevant page from my spare copy of Shakespeare, and glued it to the page as shown.
I added some background stamping with Ellen Vargo's latest two sets for Paperartsy, and used Stone and Sage Fresco, applying the paint to the stamp with a brayer (I saw this tip in a Paperartsy video on their blog this week, thanks Sara! and it does apply the paint well without getting too much paint on the stamp).
I stamped out the quote with an alphabet stamp in black archival ink, before applying a thin layer of Chalk Fresco, watered down so it wouldn't obliterate too much of the background colour, but just knock it back a touch.
'Juliet' is from the LPC027 set (Lynne Perrella for Paperartsy), that I bought at the Extravaganza last week stamped on tissue paper and painted from behind with Frescos, before a layer of Snowflake to make the colours pop from the front.

Entering the Craft Barn challenge here

Amazing how different the weather is today, to last Sunday when it was roasting hot and brilliantly sunny....

I see this one was easier for you than the SOC entry. I was quite impressed, and since I know very little about Shakespeare, except what I pick up on Jeopardy!, I was quite taken with your back story. That's a lovely new stamp, and probably would have fit either word. Your background is superb, too. Some day you may have to teach me how to stamp (grin).

Another lightening speed entry! I only just saw that the new themes were up! Haha. Your page is gorgeous and the quote beatiful. our stamping of it is awesome, I go all over the place with my alphabet, so rarely use it. Needs practice I guess, ;)
