Tag based on yesterday

Am enjoying playing with some of my new stash (see yesterday's post) and trying out some of the fab techniques Lin and Leandra were showing us... as ever I start with a tag!!

Apply some white puff paint with a palette knife to the tag, and heat to allow the paint to puff.

Spray with watered down Fresco paint (I used haystack and mermaid)  Dry.
Apply some Treasure Gold to the raised puffed paint with your finger (you can use a brush) - this is great stuff - Leandra says it's designed for use by furniture restoration etc - it's a wax based product - smells of shoe polish!!! Anyhow there are lots of scrummy colours to choose from - I got Spanish Topaz (a rich gold) Aquamarine (as it sounds, but shot with gold) and Indigo (this is beautiful!!) Already I can't remember but I think I used Spanish Topaz and Indigo
Painted the button (black Fresco mixed with inky pool) and then used both Spanish Topaz and Aquamarine TG on top. The centre button is from a pack of Artemio embellishments I got yesterday, added some TG to it (the Topaz and then it was too goldy so painted a little mermaid Fresco paint over the top again) This was a technique shown by Lin yesterday.

The stamp on the piece of fabric is part of a Paperartsy mini and used some distress cordination paper and some scrunched up Glassine paper which I used Aquamarine and Spanish Topaz paste on. Some lace and ribbons from my stash to finish.

Sorry it's a bad photo - it's been raining here since mid-morning and so gloomy I have had to put the light on as a result I can't get a decent picture, with or without flash!!

Thank you beyond belief for explaining in easy to read terms how you made this beautiful tag. This would be super as an altered book technique.

I hate to admit it, but when I saw your post yesterday, I wondered about the puffy paint. I see you have to heat it for it to puff. I bought some of that way back in the late 80s. I wonder if it is still any good! I must try this technique soon.

Well I don't know how it looks in real life but even with your difficulty taking it's picture it looks gorgeous - you are tempting me to try puffy paint too!

Great tag too Helen. Sounds like you had a good day!

Oh my! I love this loads. I have gold Treasure Gold and love it but I suspect I might have to have other colours too... you are a bad, bad influence!

Hello my friend - don't have a heart attack - it really is me visiting you lol!!!

I'm actually using my google reader, so here we are.

That tag is gorgeous and all the colours I love... there's a lot of product and work gone into it for a little tag!!!

I remember using some similar gold cream you put on with your finger - everything got the 'rub and buff' treatment at one time... I blame Linda Barker lol.

I can't believe you went to Ally Pally and bought things - you could have a stall with all your stuff and probably be the biggest stall there lol...

Hope you are well, take care
