So, here is my effort. I'm not very happy with it, I think it's probably one where "practice makes perfect" - or more probably the right product!! (it's on order!)
I've used tumbled glass on the tag, and chipped sapphire on the bird cage, which is then covered with a light layer of rock candy crackle paint. The number (6, of course, in tribute to the week) is covered with a download of a page from an old (1832) newspaper I was given.
The flash has bleached the first one out a bit, I've also loaded a pic taken without flash (standing on a chair arm so I could get high enough, with the tag on the window sill) if that's any better.
I've had this piece of decorative paper hanging around for ages - I stupidly only bought one sheet, and used some of it some months ago, but I'm rationing myself with the rest of it.
Can't wait for next week - Linda is promising us a "very exciting announcement" and there is once again a great prize on offer for the lucky winner. If you have the book, give it a go!

I think I need some more metal numbers after seeing your challenge piece and others too. Great artwork Helen. Tracy Evans x
Fab tag - but hun, standing on chairs...you is madly indeed!!! You be careful!! I love the birdy, she looks cool in pink and brown... TTFN Xx

Wonderful...love the sparkly birdcage too. I can relate to standing on anything and everything trying to catch the light for a photo! Be careful :)
Awesome job! And I can so relate to standing on chairs for the shot!
Helen, I think it turned out wonderfully! The vintage newspaper looks great on the numeral, and the bird and cage are so perfectly colored and styled.
I can relate to the photography contortions! I almost threw my back out trying to get a decent photo of my own piece for this week!
I'll be interested to hear what you think when your product arrives and you can compare it to what you used. I bet you'll find it easier to work with. That said, I truly love your tag this week and wouldn't change a thing!
Snap! i used the same die cut - it's one of my favourites and I love what you've done with it too. (your description of how you photographed it the second time made me laugh - but I'm glad you didn't fall off the chair arm!)
Great tag, love the bird peeking out of the cage!
Love the bird and cage and the sparkle on the cage.

What a great idea to use #6! I love your tag ! I just used that sentiment myself and the bird and cage too! I am glad you didn't fall off the chair. Cheers
Amazing tag! Love the birdcage and you used it so perfectly!
Looks great to me!
Beautiful tag! Do be careful though - standing on chair arms when you live alone is not a good idea! Mind you, we've probably all done it - lecture over! Lol! x
Love your tag. Great sentiment and love the birdcage have put that on my wish list.
What a great tag. I think there are a few who are doing tags ect so they can collect all the techniques together I may well do this too but there wll be 35 lol

This is lovely - it's amazing what we do to get a good photograph isn't it. I've been trying to resist buying these number, but I can see myself caving anytime now :o)
