CCC 4 - Shabby Chic

It's Monday so it must be time for another Curiosity challenge here at Linda's Studio L3 where the book this week has been turned to page 49 - Shabby Chic.

I've used some new stamps that I bought on Saturday at the Newbury Artstamps show. I've used sailboat blue dabber on a die cut shape (Tim's ornate alteration die) and the Owls are by Simply Stamps - aren't they cute?! The top colour is vintage photo - and yes, I know I should have done the colours the other way round to be more realistic, but when I tried that (on the other side of this!) it looks a real mess, so back to version one!!  Quite by chance I bought a distress embossing ink pad on Saturday - it has worked beautifully!

I've covered a square tag with a piece of paper from Tim's vintage shabby paper stack, to which I've added some broken china round the edges, and the japanese maple leaves (also new) are by Penny Black, stamped in brushed corduroy. The sentiment is Wendy's.

Do go check out the other entries - there were some stunners last week!  Once again there are prizes on offer so if you've got the book, what are you waiting for?

Love some of your purchases that you have used on your artwork. Love that maple leaf and the owls are so adorable. That sentiment is fab too. This challenge is great fun isn't it. Have a good evening, Tracy Evans x x

I LOVE owls! And this is one of the sweetest owl stamps I've ever seen (she said, adding it to the ever-growing shopping list...). I adore this card, Helen. Just love it!

And actually, I think it's far more striking to have done the colors the way you did rather than the other way around. It really looks like a nighttime scene, with just enough moonlight for illumination.

Did I mention that I love this??

Thanks for helping make Challenge 4 so beautiful. See you next week, yes?

Your owls are positively glowing! I love how your color combo worked. I'm thinking owls waiting in the moonlight.
