WOYWW 786 - the birthday edition

Hello deskers,  it's Wednesday again, time for another WOYWW... You can find the link at it's new home of Sarah's Craft Shed

What's on my desk today?

not at all posed... some early birthday cards waiting for me to open then (by the time you see this they will probably be open)   and some champagne - help yourselves... although being staged of course it's not chilled...

65 today... not at all sure how that happened...

I am spending the day at work, of course!  I did think about taking the day off but it wasn't possible due to other absences .

I did a bit more to the "mop up" page from last week... then it got too hot and there was too much football on so I haven't done any more!

Last Saturday was of course Kew day...   and boy, since than has the way blogger uploads photos changed!!

the early light on the poppies was amazing...

this is why it's worth getting up at 5 and going out at 6 to be at Kew by 8... especially if the sun comes out!

the scabious were lovely too

I may be late getting round the desks again this week, but enjoy the champagne!!  it's yours in virtual reality!

Happy WOYWW

WOYWW 525 - 60??????

Hello fellow deskers and welcome to another Wednesday.  This one is kind of special (even more special than most WOYWWs though as it's my birthday... somewhat hard to believe I find I reach 60 today... I swear it was only yesterday I was 40, never mind 50!   Anyway, time for desk sharing day with Julia.
It's staged, I am afraid and I am writing this on Tuesday night -  a little pile of cards and gifts to open before work. (I have never been one for taking the day off on my birthday)

I've been doing a bit of journalling again too, although it's stalled since the weekend!
Although I haven't been following the challenges along for many months, I am still in the FB group for France Papillon's ALAD (a layer a day) journal challenge.

Last week the prompt was "flip it" - every day you flip your journal - either 90 or 180 degrees - and add your next layer.

so this is the first 2 days, two layers of stencilling

and this the next 2.  I did the crackle paste upside down (although you can't tell) and the washi tape was back to the way the photo is oriented  - next layer will be back to the right way up.

except I am stumped for what to add next.

Sadly I can only offer you a slice of virtual cake (and I haven't made it myself either) but hopefully you'll join me in cake for breakfast (elevenses/lunch/tea/supper)
and I'll drop by your desk when I can!   ooh, nearly forgot - last weekend's visit to Kew!

WOYWW 473

Well I had a lovely birthday yesterday, even if it started at work... and now it's time for WOYWW
I left the pile of early post on my workspace to wake to on Tuesday morning.

I had intended to keep it till after work  to open
but woke early and by 6 had opened the lot.

crafty presents from Lin Lesley and Emma, love you girls!

some very beautiful cards too..

and some gifts from work too...

plus some beautiful flowers which I seem not to have photographed on the camera...
some of my gorgeous handmade cards

sorry the photos aren't better, the light is so bright I was really struggling.

yay! found where google stores my backed up
phone photos...

Work may have been interrupted on Tuesday afternoon for a piece of cake (Colin the Caterpillar, but no photos exist)
and er....
 prosecco...

obviously I didn't drink all of both bottles...

you do believe me don't you!

because of the heat, Monica (my boss) decided it was too hot to keep working so some of us decamped to her garden... for ....err...  more drinks...
it was lovely sitting in the shade of the house under a huge parasol...

Lisa (a friend of the company) and Natasha
James and Monica soaking up the rays
"George"  - I love him!
and Kirsty's puppy Coco played shadow selfies with me!

All in all, a fabulous birthday...

Happy WOYWW!

WOYWW 368

Morning again desk hoppers.  Reporting for duty - head to Jan's  for the link up

Not much been happening here, two more half done journal pages with the new stamps I got last week, but not sure about either of them, may gesso over the black one on the right...still undecided.

I've just realised I haven't done any pre-birthday splurge shopping... better put that right!**  I've kind of staged the desk this week as some early cards have arrived together with a gift my mate Sam gave me when we met up at the Angel Powertex workshop a few weeks ago, haven been patiently keeping it on instruction not to open it early (which I never do anyway!)
It's on Sunday so not long to wait now!

Hoping that both Jan and Julia have had good weeks after Jan lost her much loved Dad and Julia's continued recovery of course.

That's it from me today, short and sweet.. happy desk hopping day!

**edit... have done some online shopping since writing this... lol!

WOYWW 264 - the one before my birthday..

Well, here we are again, another Wednesday.. another What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday - Julia will let you know what's occurring here  where we all meet up to nose/snoop/rummage through everyone's workspaces...

Mine this week is looking - well see for yourselves..
a bit of a jumble, to be honest!  Some new crafting goodies (an early birthday present to myself) (more on the way..) and some souvenirs from Monday... (more of that in a sec) and a little pile of early birthday cards (it's Thursday, or tomorrow by the time you read this!)
I had a day out at Wimbledon on the opening day of the tennis championship... see my other blog for all the info - and a gazillion photos - sorry if you click the link, there are lots and lots...you could be some time!
close up of the menu... it's my first experience of a "corporate " experience and one I really enjoyed!!
some of this will be appearing in a journal page soon!!

In case you don't have time to read the full story, we had tickets on Centre Court - Andy Murray v David Goffin and later Novak Djokavic v Andrey Golubev. Very very good!!

it was my boss who was hosting the day, and she took me and one of the other girls from the office, plus 3 guests. (she also has ladies semi final tickets when she'll take the other girl from work) We are so lucky!!
