WOYWW 823

Another week has flown by and it is time again for WOYWW to share our crafty spaces...Sarah has the link

I put this page on FB  at the weekend, it was a bit of a failure in various stages....

but the image (Lonely Girl by Dina Wakley, one of my favourite of her stamps) in 2 shades of red Versafine Clair and then a pink one on collage tissue.
words by Seth Apter for Paperartsy -I sort of like it now.

it started like this, with patches of paint (Paperartsy frescos) which I really didn't like
so knocked it back with gesso, then stencils and stamps, by which time I really didn't like it...

then more gesso and stamped the images (in the top picture)

so after that I took to the new Dina ledger journal and started another page

circles are scribbled with  a neon scribble stick and the birds are from a newish release of collage tissue.

Kew on Saturday was glorious - warm, sunny and SPRING.... shame it's getting colder again

but the blossom is back,  and the magnolias won't be long (they are late this year)
the crocus were loving the sun

thanks for visiting, I will be round when I can - happy desk sharing!

Love the page with the birds Helen. Gesso is great for helping with pages we are not keen on isn't it. Sorry about not visiting last week. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

Love seeing your page evolve, sometimes I wonder what on earth I am doing then it all turns out just fine! Super end page and love the sentiment too. The scribbled circles are cool on the 2nd page as well, defo want to try that. Yes Spring is trying to come through, went for a lovely walk Monday before the cold came back again! Just had a shufty at our Magnolia (it's a pretty big one) the buds are tightly closed here but looks like it will be a lovely show this year. I did spot the tree blossom on a nearby road this week which was delightful. Sigh. Hugs bj#2

I’m glad you were able to sort out the pages to your satisfaction, isn’t it weird how some projects fall into place straightaway whilst others need wrangling into submission! It’s been so cold this year I’m not surprised the magnolias are later than usual, I haven’t ventured out much either!!

I always admire your willingness to keep working on a page till you get it right! I give up too easily and say "That'll do..."
Happy no-knitting WOYWW day!

The pages look great when you finished them and I love the girl stamp. I have it somewhere amongst all those other old ones that lay forgotten, I'm ashamed! The weather is up and down at the moment but looks like being sunny here today. Have a happy woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

So sorry you are not happy with your journal page - do you think it is the pink that is doing it? It's a colour I tend to avoid. Must say i quite like it but then i too am a fan of that particular stamp, think it is the only one of hers i have. Love your birds.
Where would a journaler be without Gesso?

I'm sure with a little Helen magic you will have pages you are happy with...some just take a little more time than others. I love the Spring flowers.

I think your journal page has worked out fine. I always have a phase where I dislike an art work too. I admire your tenacity in pushing through.
Your Kew photos are gorgeous; spring is really sprung there! It makes me wish I had a bit of witch hazel as our next project is painting spring flowers and greenery.
Happy WOYWW hugs

Great final page. Are those the chalky paints? I think that often stages are either “Oh no!” Or “Love this, will I spoil it by adding more”? The flower photographs are beautiful. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11
