WOYWW 705

Welcome again deskers,  time for another WOYWW with Julia and the gang.

I've kind of abandoned Christmas card prep as I don't think I'm going to post any due to the constant postal strikes and the pictures of all the mounds of undelivered post - according to a girl I work with who's husband is a postman, they've been told only to deliver packages and signed for post.

There's not much of a desk today as a result -  a rapidly wrapped Secret Santa gift as Thursday is our office party and the gifts need to be ready!

Don't even ask if I've done any proper Christmas shopping!

Saturday was of course Kew, a cold day but at least no rain.

Thanks for looking,  I'll be round to visit probably after work and probably after I've decided what to wear to the party (it's a meal at a restaurant so nothing over fancy, thank goodness)

We are dithering about the cards so maybe we will chance the cards to those we have received and just play it along like that. Hope you have a lovely time at your meal.

Oh my on the Christmas card front and perhaps not posting any. I've made a few but might only send a couple now, have some non-coded stamps to use up before the end of January. Right pickle. Wondered why we hadn't received any yet, my friend's usually arrives really early!!! Hugs BJ#5

I am hopeless with Christmas shopping. Baking my cakes today so that is one thing strikes won't spoil, I hope! x x Jo

I never even begin thinking of Xmas till after Thanksgiving and I always wish I had begun sooner. But I don't think I can change the habits of a lifetime LOL! Hope the gift is appreciated - or if it's a joke-y one, met with belly laughs :) Kew looks lovely, you don't get any sense of the cold from the photos.
Determined to carve out my desk hop time today!!
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Helen, I've posted most of my cards as I decided they would at least arrive some time. I think at least they will arrive some time even if they are late. So many people are having a hard time I don't want them to think I've forgotten abput them. I think I've done most of my shopping at Amazon! It very frosty here this morning but the sun is coming out now so it will soon disappear. You photos look lovely. Have a good woyww and happy crafting, Angela x11x

I think for this year, I’ll be posting a Christmas card on my blog before the big day - this is a biggie for me as I LOVE sending and receiving cards but there’s just no point at the moment. I have done most of my Christmas shopping though, I can’t leave it til the last minute, I get twitchy! Lovely shots from Kew, I particularly liked the Monkey Puzzle tree!

Well I hope my Christmas cards are not being left in a pile somewhere! Did you know monkey trees can live to a 1000 years old! I had a quick look at Monkey trees on Google 🙂. I don’t think I have ever seen the flowers/cones before. Happy WOYWW. Angela #12

I'm grabbing a quick break in between sewing jobs to visit all my favoutite blogs and of course you're on my list.
We seem to be getting Christmas through the posts on the days they are delivering so it really hasn't effected us much....and I have posted all I made now.

I hadn't heard of the Postal Strike, how mean of them to do it over Christmas, outright Grinchy :-(.
Ginko! My favourite tree! We have one in our local park, I love walking by it on my strolls! Hope things get better soon, Lindart #16

We only just started Christmas shopping 2 days ago. You have me worried now as Devvie had an Etsy print on her wish list which |I suspect will come via Royal Mail. Ah well - maybe it will get here in time for my visiting in Easter!

Love your Kew Gardens pictures. Do love a ginko tree.

Thanks for visiting already - I've missed blogland so much. Hoping to hang around for a bit! :)

I’m done with the shopping and wrapping, but not much else at this stage! I’m going out with The Coven tomorrow so am desperately trying to finish those tags that you see on my desk, they are to hold a teeny hand beaded snowflake decoration I’ve made for them. Who knew that the card making part of it would be the difficult bit!! Have a lovely time tomorrow, and by the way..love the wrapping paper! a and the ginko photos, sublime tree.

Hope the party went well and you're not too hung over today!
I have had to abandon making cards as well. I am just sending to distant family (in miles), the list gets shorter every year as a few more drop off the tree . .
Enjoy the weekend

It's such a shame about the strikes Helen. I'm pleased my card reached you safely.
Not much Christmas shopping done here either.
Hope you enjoyed the party.

ooh secret santa, our office doesnt do them anymore but fair play on yours. The one benefit of my family living in NZ means I have to do the Christmas shopping and post them usually in November so it does mean come December I have a few things ticked off the list!
