WOYWW 690

Welcome along for week 690 of WOYWW .    We're looking forward to the crop too

I started another journal page in the large Kraft journal

gesso, gloss sprays,  stencilling
the scribbly writing is pieces of Dina's collage tissue,

stamped images
and a desk.. floor space.

my knees/legs won't take working on the floor much longer and I really will need to work out a proper desk !

Last weekend the bus and train strike prevented getting to Kew on my normal Saturday but by Sunday transport was playing nicely and I went to Kew then instead - met up with  Kim, one of the other regulars too
photos - here.

This weekend the bus strike isn't until Sunday and Monday so it's back to normal.
this bed featured heavily on this week's Channel 5 programme at Kew - the parterre beds in front of the Palm House - the one that is always my blog opening shot
and I played with the globe lens and the mirror installation.

Next week's Kew programme is the one I'll be in -  I really doubt it will be more than 30 seconds but it'll be quite exciting!

Thanks for looking and see you soon  - we're a bit thin on the ground at work with holidays and stuff, so doubt I'll get to visit anyone at lunchtime, but will be round for the early birds or later on!
Happy WOYWW

Love the pages in that big kraft journal. I've been trying to incorporate stencils in some of my creations this past few days. Anyway I sorted them out, so maybe next week !!! Pretty yellow flowers. Enjoy a great week

Your page really looks like some mosaic tiling with lovely white grouting in between. I don't think I've ever seen a stencil replicate something so good as this does.
Desk: I have one of those trays with the kind of bean bag underneath so I can craft when my back is bad and I have to balance a hot bottle on my back by pressing up to the back of the chair. Just a quick solution otherwise what about a picnic type table that has thin metal legs that fold underneath when not in use? Am sure you will get lots of options during the day.
Well, should be back home for the Kew programme with you starring in it, will make sure it is on tape. You lost me with the globe lens and mirror installation but knowing you it is for some fantastic photo opportunity. Still think you should do calendars.
Hugs, and Thanks for linking me

Loving the journal page but you really do need to get a desk. I used to sit on the floor a lot as a teenager and had problems with my ankle for some time so I know what can happen. I'll have to see if I can catch the Kew prog. I'm off to Lincoln this weekend to do the Steampunk photos so looking forward to that if the weather holds up! Wishing you a very happy and creative WOYWW, Angela x11x

Ha, love that mosaic stencil. It really does look like the real thing and makes a great background for the page. I never thought I’d see the day when the floor wasn’t a desk anymore but needs must, I know for a fact that you knees have lasted longer than mine for kneeling, lol!!
Hugs LLJ 4 xx

Hello Helen. Great stencil and page. I used to be on the floor all the time, my favourite place. Sadly age and rubbish knees now, have changed all that :-(. Hope you find a table. Anne x 13

Love what you have done in the journal and your floor space. The transport strikes are a nuisance - but at least you got to Kew!
Happy WOYWW!
Stay safe and keep well!
I am determined to call and comment on all of you this week!

The mosaic stencil makes a fab base for your journal pages. These strikes are really getting to us aren't they - and now postal strikes to limit Tilly's trade too! I can't see an end to it really. Glad you could manage a Sunday trip to Kew. xx Jo

I simply cannot imagine you working on a desk! I remember the crop where Julia marked out a "desk"on the floor for you with masking tape. Still makes me smile :) That kraft journal give you so much real estate to work on I expect your pages will take longer than usual to create LOL!
Happy (late again) WOYWW

Oh your globe lens and mirror installation photo is EPIC, love it. Defo think you ought to find a space for a desk, we aren't getting any younger LOL. Thanks for mentioning you are hot as well, a number of ladies have replied the same so I don't think a visit to the GP is necessary as I don't feel ill, just HOT. Happy Hot WOYWW BJ#10

Late again - sorry! Flaky internet yesterday meant I gave up as had other things to get one with. Kew is on record, just in case I forget, and I concerned to hear you think crafting on the floor may be on its way out. You will have a desk like a normal person!
Great mosaic stencil on your page. Really looking forward to crop, hop we have enough numbers for it to go ahead. Have a good week, love n hugs Cindy xx

Hi Helen.
Ooo a celebrity in our midst. Thank you for sharing Kew with us across the pond. Very lovely in deed. I hope to make a trip to a local (okay 4 hr round trip LOL) botanicals once weather cools.
Yes, my video Friday will be 4:30 a.m. your time if I've calculated right but you can always watch the replay and leave a comment. Hugs & Creative Blessings! Kelly #18

Blimey Helen, it’s been YEARS, so you owe your knees a break! How you start to translate the floor to a desktop is beyond me though, so I’ll watch with interest! Like the others, I love the mosaic stencil, and it makes a great basis for your big old page.
Sorry I’m so late, another of my skills!

Lovely patterns with those stencils. I rarely use stencils these days - I almost always mess up with the paint seeping underneath - and not in a good way! Lucky you could swap your days to Kew - I think Royal Mail is planning a series of strikes as well, but I tend to use Amazon these days. I bet all those trees in Kew look gorgeous in autumn! Have a happy week! xx zsuzsa #19
