WOYWW 656

Hi one and all, and a happy nearly New Year to you all...  I hope you had a great Christmas and Sana brought you some good gifts.  It's time once more, and for the last time this year - to meet with Julia and our happy band of WOYWW deskers...

I bought some extra (battery operated) lights for the window at the top of my stairs

this is in daylight

a small but perfectly formed pile of Christmas gifts  - I spent the day at home just me,  as is quite normal - having seen my brother the day before to swap gifts.
there's a lovely soft grey jumper from my brother & sister in law (and some edible goodies) and the grey/yellow thing at the bottom is a scarf from Monica (with a gift voucher and the selfie stick cum tripod for the phone.  The bottles were from a couple of people at work - champage and a clementine gin liquer.

I had half planned to go to Kew today but didn't - the weather forecast said there was a fairly high chance of rain (and it was windy)  which after I'd not got up and ready in time to go, didn't materialise. so of course I could have had a good walk in the fresh air.

after spending another day lounging around and watching TV I played in my journal for the first time in quite a long time... It's not finished I don't think,  it needs some hand writing or something else on it and possibly a main focal point... we'll see!

There is more chance of rain for the rest of the week until Saturday so it looks as if I won't get to Kew mid week as well as Saturday, but never mind, I am enjoying some relaxing days and not getting up early.

Wishing you all a very happy New Year and stay safe - I really hope that we can stop having to say it soon (not that I don't still wish it)  but somehow I fear not....

I'm posting early as having just gone to visit Julia for the link, her post is already up.

Loving the lights, our weather took a turn to 20 degrees with light snow and Mr. Wind arrived and Mr. Sun was no where to be seen. HAPPY HAPPY New Year, wishing you much happiness, good health and fun adventures in 2022

Enjoy your days of realxation Helen. It's been raining for over 24 hours here too - my husband reckons it's because he has a week off too. Hope 2022 is a better year all round for everyone. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

Happy New Year to you and what better gift that a warm jumper? I think giving Kew a miss was probably the right call - too much rain and drizzle. Shame it won't wash away the Covid LOL!

Hi Helen, sometimes time on your own is good and hopefully the New Year will bring good things. I bet the day you missed Kew was the day we didn't take the dogs out as it just poured it down here. Take care my friend and best wishes for a Happy New Year. WOYWW hugs, Angela x10x

I was given the same scarf in a bright pink and blue! Aren't we trendy! The lights around the window look lovely, ever so welcoming…see it’s at this stage that I start thinking that I might leave some of the pretty lights up…..and then I remember dusting and change my mind!! Good for you for turning to your journal, I’ve promised myself some time in the room of shame this afternoon, it won’t take long to sort out of its shame, but then I don’t have a clue what I’ll be doing, but I NEED to do something, frightened I’ll forget how! Won’t it be marvellous if we can plan a crop day this year? Meanwhile dear friend, HNY and keep on. Xxxx

The lights look lovely, a great addition to the window decorations for sure! That’s a nice bunch of presides, the clementine liqueuer sounds lush! Well done for doing some actual crafting, I don’t think the page needs much more tbh.
HNY and let’s hope we can meet up for a crop!

Well, I hope your jumper fits you better than the cardigan I got from a friend. It drowns me! Nice gifts you got.
Sorry Kew seems to be off the limites at the moment on account of the weather, yesterday was lovely here but today - wet!
Happy New Year Helen, Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Happy new year to you too! I don’t blame you missing Kew, the weather’s been atrocious. Glad you like your gifts. Your journal’s motto is true; you need to choose.
Take care and happy new year

Happy WOYWW and Happy New Year. I forgot to show off what presents I got that will be useful in my crafty life - next week! (One arrives by courier today, so excited to get some new tech.) Loving the Christmas lights. I am planning to take all our decorations down today, but running out of day rapidly, so it may be tomorrow. Ali x #14

Thanks for your visit, you were quick off the mark lol
I think this weather insists that we stay indoors and craft . . . . day after day . . .
Hope it clears up for Saturday.

Hello Helen, it's raining and windy here and it's so not a day to go out. Even Silver is stopping indoors - she doesn't mind the rain so much, it's the wind she hates. Your lit up window is lovely. It must be lovely for you to be able to lie in for a change. I know when I retired I just enjoyed not having to rush round every morning just to get out the door. Santa was good to you. Maybe you'll find time to journal today. Have a great week and wishing you all the best in the New Year. Hugs, Elizabeth x #17

Your lights and decorations look lovely as do all those fab presents. We are having a quiet day today - not that we have done much other than entertain Ben for 2 days which was fun. I might even be tempted into my sewing room but it really needs a good post Xmas sort up and I'm just not in the mood. Happy New Year Helen - let's hope we can meet up in 2022 - masked and tested if necessary! xxx Jo

HI Helen! Your Christmas, as lonely as it possibly was, sounds lovely, especially the magical lights in the window! You got a nice little bundle of gifts. Good start to your journal page, I can see a Dina Wakely figure on there! Several people thought Jasper was a boy, understandibly, so don't feel bad! Have a lovely 2022, let's hope it gets better and better as the year goes on. Hang in there! Thanks for your visit, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Lindart #23

The battery lights look really pretty Helen, day or night. I brought some for my porch this year they make the entrance very warm and inviting. Glad you have taken advantage of cosy days and sleep ins over the holiday period, I think we all deserve them more than ever this year.
Wishing you all the best for 2022 & a happy, healthy and creative year ahead.
