WOYWW 655

Welcome one and all, to the desk before Christmas....if Julia thought last week that time was hurtling - well now it has well and truly hurtled!  Time for one more desk hop before the big guy comes down the chimney...

Head to the Stamping-Ground for all the details. Of course since last week I have been super busy and creative.. er not !  I did some speed-buying of Christmas presents and even have them wrapped and ready.

well at least the tags are hand made!

as always I didn't get round to clearing enough space to decorate properly so did the same as most years and just decorated the living room window sill but it doesn't photograph very well

but my Powertex angel looks festive in her lights!

I've received lots of beautiful hand made cards -thank you to everyome who sent one - they're hanging in the hall and are even harder to photograph so I haven't!

I had a morning at Kew last weekend of course,  with hardly any photos - this is the link -

I can't give you holly, but I can ivy - in flower.

Unfortunately Kew aren't opening especially for me this coming Saturday (cheek!)  but I hope to get a visit in, during the break between Christmas and New Year, Covid willing!

I'd just like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and healthy and creative New Year - see you soon!

I was thinking of you when I visited Chris at Dunham Massey. I wondered how the light show resembled that of Kew. Amazingly, you left her a comment answering my question. I loved the arches. They reminded me of what Kew does, at least from what I got from your photos.

I also stopped by to wish you a delightful, safe, healthy Christmas. I hope you will take me with you on any trip you might take into London or other places over your break. I hope it's a very happy holiday for you, dear.

Happy Christmas Helen. I'd forgotten you did some Powertexing a while back, how lovely to have an angel, you can put with your decorations, that you made.
Lovely to see the ivy in flower, I never knew it flowered. Thanks.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx

A most Merry Christmas! No clue about Powertex so I’ll have to Google it, but I love you tags and the sill is, indeed, quite festive! Enjoy the holiday and see you, just befor New Year. Blimey, that came around fast!
Happy Woyww!

The angel scrubbed up well in her Christmas decorations! Well done on the gift tags, ours were a lot more quick and dirty but they’ll do and are recyclable, so that’s a bonus! I hope you have a lovely time over the weekend xx

It all looks lovely Helen and gorgeous Angel too. I've still got the stuff which probably needs using up really but who knows. Hope you have a very happy Christmas. Take care, hugs Angela x11x

Gorgeous Angel, and twinkly lights really create a festive atmosphere don't they. The tags are beautiful, especially with the black wrapping paper - very classy and elegant - love it! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a trip to Kew. I hope you have a happy and peaceful Christmas, stay safe and well,

Lovely angel and beautiful tags, Helen.
Have a happy Christmas! I’m impressed by how much colour there still is at Kew, in the middle of winter. Thanks for your lovely photos. I hope you get a visit in after Christmas.
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

I’m doing the rounds of all my favourite blogs in between making strawberry/sherry trifles ready for our family get togethers.....the jelly is just setting a little before I put it on (don’t want to dilute the sherry 😂). I’ve got no sewing today so making the most of my time.
I just want to thank you for your friendship and for all the lovely comments over the last year. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and 2022 is a little kinder on us all.
Hugs,
Annie x

I love your little lights and decoration! It's so nice to see all the festivity and lights in different houses. I do have vacation now but last week, when I walked to my job, it was very festive going through streets while it was still a bit dark outside and to see everyone had lights and bigh X-mas trees in the rooms and candles in front of the windows and outside on the pavement little lighted trees in baskets... I love this time of year! Merry Christmas dear! Big hug from Holland. Marit #14

Well done speed buying all those presents! I've done the same and now they're all wrapped. I panicked last Monday and may have overdone it LOL! Those fairy lights can really transform the place, especially when they reflect off the window! Wishing you a lovely Christmas, Helen! xx zsuzsa #21

Happy Christmas Helen, your so right, it all well and truly hurtled! Your windowsill looks lovely, I really like the look of baubles in a glass container. I’d it even briefly cross your mind to organise stuff to make room for decorating on a bigger scale? It wouldn’t have crossed mine! Well done on the hand made tags, I did not get that far…like your choice of wrapping papers too- I’m using up last years…I know it’s the right thing to do, but it feels a bit cheap!! Have a good break, pretty sure you’ll be able to distract yourself from Kew this Saturday….even if you don’t manage to lie in!

Hi Helen, I used to decorate everything, the bathrooms, the stairs, the halls, but this year only the living room. It's a lot of work when no one can come over to enjoy it! So I understand completely. But what you have done is very festive! I love your tags, best get busy on mine! I have never seen Ivy in flower, beautiful! I wish you a wonderful Christmas, full of love, joy and family, which is, after all, what we need most! Lindart #24

Hi Helen, your little lights are lovely and festive enough for me. The fewer decs you put up, the fewer to take down. The tags are great, fancier than any I made this year. My ivy isn't old enough to flower yet but I'm ever hopeful. Have a great week and a very Merry Christmas even if you can't visit Kew as usual. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22

It's Horse Tail - got loads of it is a bog garden bowl thingy on a drain in the middle of the end of our garden! I like the stripy effect too and it is also like mock bamboo. Oops think that comment is on the wrong post but I came from here anyways. Have a Happy Christmas, hugs BJ#13

Hello Helen. Thank you for popping by. I love the photo of the flowering ivy. Excuse lateness of reply. I felt unwell yesterday and ended up at GP surgery today. Water infection and on antibiotics. Have a lovely Christmas. Anne x 17
