WOYWW 653

It's Wednesday - time for another week's desk hop - WOYWW  with Julia -   where a group of us share our crafty workspaces... there's not been a lot going on here,  this week (as always)

I made a few more Christmas cards at the weekend, wrote out the list so I know who I'm sending cards to and now comes the bit I like the least - writing them out; which is why I am prevaricating! I did buy the stamps for them though today (ouch, pricey!)

I made another candle card with a different stamp - another Magenta one -  and then used the same stamp in loads of different Versafine Clair colours to fill a masterboard -  I can't bear to cut it up now!

the box that has papers overflowing in it, is the one that my gloss sprays live in - the papers just kind of ended up in it as somewhere to store them - various stamped images and some part done tags

I had a beautiful morning at Kew last Saturday - the weather disobeyed the forecast and was sunny and though cold, not too bad
Photos are here if you want a look

I've got my booster jab on Saturday afternoon but will be able to get a trip to Kew in first

You can tell it's nearly Christmas - the double issue Radio Times (tv listing magazine) is out so it  was out with the pen marking off some things to make sure i'll be watching.

I'll be round to visit soon - work might get in the way first.  Happy WOYWW

Glad it was nice at Kew for you at the weekend Helen. Hope all goes well with your booster and the CHristmas card writing. I shall be donating to charity instead of sending cards this year. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2

Magenta, now that's a blast fro0m the past for me. Is it an old stamp or are they still. making them? I used to love their stamps, always good quality.
I have a database for my Christmas cards with the names and addresses on as it doesn't change much from year to year. It's proved its worth over time I can tell you.
Good luck with the booster.

It’s a rite of Christmas circling the programmes you want to watch in the bumper edition of the Radio Times! I know what you mean about the postage but I love the whole Christmas card thing and we haven’t had a Crop this year so it’s important to me. Hope your booster goes well, I had no reaction to mine at all, not even a sore arm!

Oh my! how I love those old Magenta stamps mine have become a bit of a display now though I really should use them again. Pleased to hear you're getting your Booster. Take care and don't work too hard. Happy woyww, Angela x10x

Stopped by to tell you I am still alive and LOVE that new masterboard. I would have trouble cutting it up, too. Time to lie down, though.

I treasure my Magenta stamps, especially as they are so beautifully mounted, their foam to rubber ratio was always fab! The masterboard was a great idea and a lovely way to play with all those lovely Clair inks! You know I hope, how much I admire your dedication to Kew. Last weeks photos made me realise that I would be a fair weather devotee at best!!

I don't envy you for having to write all those Christmas cards - a stamped sentiment will help for sure and worth every penny however expensive! The weather forecast is often wrong - they predicted heavy rain for yesterday afternoon, so I braced myself - and although it rained while I was in the office, by the time I walked home it was sunny! Hope you get lucky too with the weather on Saturday! xx zsuzsa #14

Gorgeous Kew photos Helen. The light you captured was extraordinary. The slate stacks were very satisfying and the orchids are glorious. Thanks for sharing them. I love picking out Christmas programmes as well.
Stay safe and happy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. Definitely get those cards written out and posted. You will feel very satisfied to see them gone. I love the candle design. I bet Kew is gorgeous at this time of year. I have only ever gone in the summer. I ordered a copy of the Radio Times online this year and every day I hope the postman is bringing it. It will feel more like Christmas once I have planned out my TV viewing! Ali x #17

OOOH! so pleased I came to visit . . . . must buy the Radio Times now it's out, thank you.
hope your booster doesn't make you feel too bad, a good excuse to stay indoors on Sunday and chill.
Enjoy Kew, hope the rain stops for you.

The postage really does take a lot of the pleasure of sending cards but I’m not going to let it stop me. I do keep them pretty flat now so at least they don’t need large letter prices lol

I love your candle design - yes the price of stamps is shocking but we all love a nice card so I guess its got to be done! Thanks for the reminder about the Radio Times - I love the double issue and I too like to plan what I will be watching over the festive season. Stay safe. xx Jo

Glad you had a nice trip to Kew. I used to do that with the Christmas issues. Then it seemed I had less and less time to watch them, so I gave up. Happy WOYWW Angela #15

Hi Helen, no need to feel sorry for Dolly, she only had it on for the photographs. Obviously she is not one for dressing up. My daughter bought the little outfit, thankfully it didn't cost very much as it has been consigned to the bin! I was wondering if you have taken pictures of Kew when it has been snowing?

Love the candle card, great idea. Intrigued by the turquoise bauble so just had to have a peek at Kew, nice and I'd have been annoyed at the kid being allowed to bat them too! BJ#8
