WOYWW 619

Hello and happy WOYWW once more...

I've had a singularly uncrafty week so thank goodness for enabling!

my new stamps came, no surprises

they are Dina Wakley...

I did stamp out the alphabet set....

and I did add a couple of the flourishes to a journal page...
they're mostly hiding behind the figures!

then at the weekend, James from the Stampers Grove put some stencils on facebook.... so little willpower...

(it was the stars what won me!)

Tuesday I had me a hair cut and colour .... yayyyy....
not sharing the "before"  it is something out of a horror movie...

lots of you saw this on facebook!

and on Saturday of course, once again, there was Kew...

click the link for the blog with more photos

I have a time slot for this Saturday coming, but missed out on the 10am entry and can only go in at 11..

given the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral in the afternoon which I want to watch on tv,  I may give this up as I won't have long there, and there are limited trains (engineering works)  so it may be a rush to get home in time

I was so sorry he didn't make 100 but 2 months shy of that is some achievement.

So I hope to see more evidence of crafty play on your desk!  happy WOYWW

I was sad that Prince Philip didn't manage a telegramme from the Queen as well Helen. Love the hair - I feel far more human for a wet cut. I shall watch the funeral on TV too. Great new stash and enabling - I am trying to be good as I had to insure and tax the car this month. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

Yes it was sad about Prince Philip, I shall also be watching the funeral here in Spain, will have to make sure I'm back from the girls lunch in time. Was thinking you will be able to return to Kew bet you've missed your visits. Ani #1

Mmmm, nice flourish stencil...although I did think they were stylised feathers. Which probably means they are even more useful! Do you know, in all the time I’ve had a thing about alphabets, I haven’t thought to stamp them out ready for cutting up and using. May remedy that over the next few days, weeks! Brillo idea. Your hair looks great and I’m so glad you’ve made it back to Kew, although I understand about this Saturday, specially with ‘engineering works’! The Duke was early a grand age and wow, what a life, I think we’ll all miss him, he really seemed to be a GB brand if you know what I mean.

Gorgeous stash - willpower is so overrated. So many people I know going to Kew this week no wonder you missed your earlier slot! I shall continue to enjoy through your photos. Bet you feel more like yourself with the 'do' sorted. I know the OH was happier when he got home from the barbers yesterday. Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindyxx #12

I have that flourish stencil you have but I call them feathers. Used it on a Tracy Scott workshop once and just had to buy.
Good news re the hair. I have mixed feelings about next Wednesday and my haircut - got used to tying it back - so easy - now that it is long but there's little else I can do so off it comes.
Glad you are back to normal re Kew as well, so will have to remember to pop over and look.
Stay safe

Those feather stamps are gorgeous and I'm sure you will find a good use for them. Your hair looks lovely and I can't wait for Saturday when I have mine cut. We are prefering to find places to walk where there are fewer people as they've gone a bit mad round here at the moment and I'm worried there may be another Lockdown if people aren't sensible. Have a lovely and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x17x

So much beauty to be seen in Kew, the blossoms are a fabulous sight and I wish I could go and see for myself. Great journal page and fabulous new stamps. Love those flourishes. Your hair looks lovely, my husband has been moaning about mine! Happy WOYWW and have a great week Angela #9

Greta new stencils! The stars are fab but it was all the musical notation that made me smile! Hope you have fun with it all. Great new hair too, you rock the look. I’m pleased that you’re able to get back to Kew at long last, gorgeous pics.

Loving the alphabet stamps - they will look great on journal pages! Well done on getting a haircut so quickly (some salons are booked up for months I hear) - I got into the habit of cutting my own hair - not as bad as it sounds if you just need a blunt bob and it saves me loads of time, hassle and money that I can spend on art supplies instead LOL! Not for the fainthearted tough - I figure if I mess up, I'll just pull it into a pony tail. Good that you can now go back to Kews on a weekly basis. I bet it changes dramatically at this time of year. I look at our trees and plants every day - sometimes you can see a change in just hours even! Happy Wednesday and enjoy your new supplies and haircut! xx zsuzsa #24

Lovely collection of new goodies and well done on being able to have your hair cut and coloured. With a trip to Kew planned it almost sounds like life is returning to some normality. Have a great week.

Love the new stash....I’m sure you will put them all to good use.
It’s been a manic morning here with more wedding dress and bridesmaids dress fittings and then of course they need the sewing doing 😀😀😀

Lots of lovely goodies on here!
On Facebook this week a memory popped up that I was visiting Kew four years ago. Quite a coincidence as the day before I had picked up a vintage book of Kew postcards from a charity shop.
Happy WOYWW

Love the hair colour! Mine's long so I don't have the urgency of the shorter styled ladies. Great colours on those journal pages and that 3 part stencil at the bottom of the pic looks interesting! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Great hairdo - I managed to get mine cut but I have decided to let my natural colour grow out - well that is until I am fed up with it and head for the colour bottle again!! Love your arty stuff - it's just good to have something to dabble with when the mood takes. Your Kew visits must inspire you too. xx Jo

Yes, it was a shame that Prince Philip didn't quite reach 100, and received a birthday card from the Queen! But then again I guess he would've quite a few. Great colour! I coloured mine blone once... we were camping in a tent and it went green! No one said a word! Oho, ding dong! Door bell!.....A penny sliders craft kit from Crafters Companion! Well,I should be doing something else but...crafty playtime now! Stay Safe! Happy WOYWW?((Lyn)) #21

Lovely hair, Helen. I like your stamps too. Philip gave me a right north eye once when his car nearly ran me over. I won’t be watching the funeral,
Enjoy Kew!
Take care

My goodness, Helen, what a transformation with your hair! I love the colour, and the cut is beautiful. I remain with my normal "lockdown chic" style that suits me and my lifestyle best - letting it grow as long as it wants, with occasional hackings by Yours Truly to keep the split ends at bay! If I had a hairdresser-style, I'd need to be going too often for it to be practical as it grows so fast and soon looks a mess. I've always been a long hair person apart from one period at school when I had a very short crop, and then in my 20s when I was working in an office and had a "Purdey" (New Avengers) style - that was a pain because I had to use heated rollers every morning to get rid of the "straight out of bed" look!! Far too much work.

Love the new stash, particularly those gorgeous swirls. Lovely Kew pics too.

Thank you for your visit - glad you liked my knitting projects. As for the egg, if it did cause the migraine, I'm not about to stop eating the occasional bit of chocolate but next time I shall keep an eye out for any untoward side effects! Chocolate has never been a trigger before.

Happy belated WOYWW,

So weird! Clicking o post a comment didn't work, but opening the link in a different tab did. Love the hair, love the pages (always, you know that already) and shame you might have to miss out on a lovely walk thru Kew. Next week, right?
Socially distanced knitting in the garden yesterday so TODAY is WOYWW for me!

Yay for the new hairdo Helen, I bet you are smiling every time you catch a glimpse. Love the alphabets too, they look like a really good big size :) ~Stacy #29

Hi Helen! Great stencils, I like the one that looks like leaves. I don't mind cutting out stamps as long as I'm watching TV, and they are so cheap, considering I paid $25 USD (no idea how mush that is in pounds) for all those sheets of stamps! They are usually about that much for each sheet! Lovely visit to the Kew, I hope you made it home in time for the funeral. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. Thanks for your visit, have a great week and stay safe! Lindart #30
