WOYWW 618

Boom!  Wednesday again - time to meet up for WOYWW  and desk sharing day....

I hope you all had a good Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate...

I intended to do lots of crafting with all those new supplies I shared last week.... didn't really happen!

I dripped some gloss spray onto two pages I'd covered in black gesso....

coloured one of the Tracy Scott birds from the Paperartsy stamp set from a few weeks ago... It's probably going on one of these black pages...
did have a play with some of the Dina goodies....
and stencilled the long legged birds on this background...

and that was it, for 3 days available......

Saturday was a bit different (well to the last 4 months)  because....

as I hinted last time...
I went to Kew!!!  hurrah hurrah

blog with the full pics here

it was freezing cold, but lots of colourful spring blooms and blossoms

Catch you all soon!  happy WOYWW

Oh I am so envious. Saw that bird stamp and immediately fell in love with it but cannot justify buying it for a solitary page or so. Looking forward to seeing you use it.
Glad you are back on the Kew visits. Will have to visit your other blog - but going to snuggle down, it's too cold sitting up at the moment. Heating just gone on.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx

SO glad that you finally made it to Kew after so long Helen. Those blossom photos were spectacular on FB. You managed more crafting than I did over the weekend. Love that bird! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

Love the bird - and the gloss spray on black gesso looks like fun - perfect backdrop for it. But the long-legged birds are so cute. Love them loads. Busy weekend for you! So glad you were able to get to Kew. I am still looking forward to getting to Stourhead, which is lots more green and less floral but still lovely and open and hopefully not too busy. Soon.
Happy WOYWW day!

Hi Helen!! Oh I love those stencilled birds! So pleased to see you were back at Kew - must feel like you are getting your life back. Those orange flowers are stunning (forget the name). Those and the camellias always seem such an exotic looking flower for an english spring. Have a great week, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy #16 xx

The long legged birds look special! I would splash some water under them, I think they'd enjoy that! Lovely dlowers, would love to visit Kew again, but the moment it's just too far away. We have Compton Acres in Poole, which must be an hour away, so not too bad and then of course The New Forest can be amazing at this time of year too (and that's free! Have a great week Stay safe, Happy WOYWW (((Lyn))#13

Hooray for getting back to Kew, the flowers are so gorgeous, it doesn’t you good to look at them, thanks for sharing! The slashed black pages look interesting, wonder how they’re going to turn out? And the long legged birdie is a great stamp, good fun!

Love the black spotty page, same colours as the little bird perchance? Look forward to seeing what you do with them. Love the bright tags too, subtle isn't my middle name sometimes - oops! Oh and your long legged birds are super cool. Did pop over to your Kew post, love all your photos. When I took the close-up of my Water Hawthorne flower, it reminded me of all your wonderful photos and I was wondering when you'd be back at Kew and there you were...Thanks for the visit BJ#5

Must check out those gloss sprays - the birds stencils look cute, very whimsy. Good that you were able to go back to Kew finally - it must be amazing at this time of year. I wouldn't mind the cold if it wasn't so windy. Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #21

Happy WOYWW. It has been wonderful to be able to get out and about again, after so many many months of 'Stay Local' in Wales. We haven't gone far - just to some local beaches and countryside for short walks (I can't do much now due to possible Arthritis in my left foot), and cafes for takeaways. Loving all of your projects, but the gloss dripped onto the black is particularly gorgeous. Ali x #23

Love the pages you’ve been working on but I have to say my biggest smile was to hear you’ve been to Kew. I know what it means to you.

It does me a lot of good to see that you got back to Kew, Helen, probably did you good too. B@#£&y weather, it was so un spring like! I love the text on that tag about being subtle...I may need that stamp set! Meanwhile, loving the silhouette birds too, you may not have done masses, but you did more than me over three days of potentially lots of crafting!

I'm interested to hear about your gloss sprayed page, Helen. Doesn't it make it difficult to work on afterwards? It sounds most interesting. I love your long-legged birds, and what joy to get back to Kew, especially to see that fabulous spring blossom. That must have really lifted the spirits, I should think.

Thank you for your visit and for your good wishes re the pants. I always feel pretty positive after Kate has visited - she's really on the ball - it's one particular seamstress in the workshop that seems incapable of following instructions and keeps getting things wrong. After my numerous complaints I'm surprised she's still there because she must be costing the company a packet (or rather, the NHS, as this is a prescription service). I'm hoping all will be well this year, though, because there's no change from last time and all they have to do is follow the pattern from then.

I've made a good start on sewing the kitties and paw prints onto the blanket squares. That strip I joined up a few weeks ago is now complete with its embellishments and it's looking good. It's such fun to do, and a bit frustrating having to put it away every time my hubby makes an appearance! He's bound to notice all those kitties now.

Happy WOYWW,
