WOYWW 594

Another week, another desk share day... Wednesday is time for WOYWW

I forgot to show you last week, the coaster that came from Jo's talented daughter Maxine, Tilly Tea Dance..based on one of her gorgeous sunflower designs and a pretty card with  note too.

I can't bring myself to use it yet !

There is enabling to be done, too..

the new Paperartsy stencils and (finally succumbed) to the new Distress oxide colours..

and another one by CraftersWorkshop, thrown in for good measure.

I opened the leafy stencil you couldn't see last week, it;s actually a mask and stencil so you get positive and negative images

I had a quick play, (photo looks out of focus, not sure how. unless it's my eyes!)

was just trying it out, it's not meant to be anything fancy.
I think I'll use ink rather than paint next time.
all the fronds on the leaves are quite delicate too, I can see it may tear easily if you apply paint or ink too roughly

Saturday was a Kew day of course - no sun, but no rain either (yay)

the colours are getting better and better!

hopefully, London won't be put into more severe restrictions too soon so I can enjoy them as long as possible!

thanks for visiting - I may be late getting back to you as work is insanely busy and I haven't been getting much of a lunch break this week

Love the CC D'oxs spot on for the time of year. Those ferns are fabulous look great on paper, so useful. The tree's this time of year really are delightful.

P.S Love that coaster, think I may need one :))

Happy WOYWW. I love those new Paperartsy stencils. Delicate stencils/masks don't work very well with me, as I do tend to end up damaging the little bits. I have been tempted by the new Distress colours (especially as I am an affiliate for Craftstash.co.uk, and they regularly have discounts on them), but I am standing firm and not buying any crafty stash until next year when I have paid off my credit card debt. I will then perhaps buy one or two inkpads each month to build up a collection. I remind myself that they will still be available to buy in the future, and often at a discounted price. Hope you can continue with your Kew trips. We will be staying on the farm, apart from walks/cycle rides from our own back door, for 2 weeks from Friday evening. Ali x #7

Although they've been around for ages, I've resisted the Oxide inks, I really want to know if they're worth the investment... and then there would be the problem of how and where to store them! Have a great day and enjoy those fabulous trees whilst you can!

Hi Helen. Glorious colours on those trees at Kew. It will be good if you can go see them again... we are going into complete lockdown come Friday - so won't be seeing anything of the autumn colours because our instructions are "Stay at home". That stencil and mask do look lovely - but yes, they do look quite fragile. Enjoy using them. I like what you have done so far.
Take care. God bless.

Don’t be over doing it, if work is busy, relax your visiting, I’d much rather you had a lunch break that involved you eating! I do love the leaf stencil, and from my thoughts to your page..I’d have to be very careful with it, even the way I store my few stencils would be dangerous for those spindly leaves! Nice score from Papersrtsy, those stencils are really nice, love the random numbers particularly. Kew is looking glorious through your lens, I do hope you can get a few more visits in...i rather suspect the same as you about safety tiers.

I love stencils and masks in equal measure. And both text and numbers as well. We are kindred spirits, as I so often say. Being brief as typing with a line in my arm is a (literal) pain!

Love the Kew colours. I really hope covid doesn’t get v bad again in London for all reasons, but also so you and we (through your photos) can keep on enjoying Kew. The little coaster is beautiful, as are your ferns.
Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Ooh, those stencils are rather fab - I could frame them and put them on the wall, they're like little works of art in themselves! The fern is beautiful too, bet you'll use that loads and loads.

The leaf stencils are gorgeous and I love the page you played on. The Paperartsy stencils are fab - I've resisted the Oxides quite well so far, I only have about 3.
Hope things calm down a bit at work, and fingers crossed your trips to Kew aren't disrupted.

Hi Helen, I love the leaf stencils- you will get plenty of inspiration for colours from your Kew trips, and the new DOs look great- but I cannot justify any more, as I don't use the ones I own that much! I know what you mean about work - I get more of a lunch break at home though, as I have to come downstairs and make something to eat, so I tend to stay downstair#, whereas when I am at the office, I eat as I work. The downside is, I don't have to travel home, so can still be working at 6.30!! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #15

Helen, I am so completely over the moon jealous of your goodies from Maxine!! I LOVE, LOVE her stuff and have followed her for several years!! She's an amazing artist in her own craft!!! I've often thought of dabbling in felt art and haven't taken the plunge yet! Goodness, I want to try EVERYTHING, which gets me in soooo much trouble!!! Just like your "enabling" us with those yummy stencils!! Love them! Have fun playing! Your fall photos are gorge! Have a wonderful rest of your week! Blessings, Felicia #32

Hi Helen, I'm loving the leafy stencil/mask - it's a beauty - and the new ink colours a fab too. We've been noticing the changing leaf colours round here but the weather has been dire - lots of downpours to stop us going out. Hope you are able to visit Kew again this weekend. Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

Maxine is very talented for sure. I like your new supplies, especially the looks of the compass you'll have to show us that too. That's neat that you have both the positive and the negative fronds to play with. The colors of the leaves are breathtaking! Enjoy the rest of the week ~ love, Karen#40

Lovely new stash, Helen, and I do love your leafy piece with the overlaid fronds - very subtle and lovely. The new Distress colours are gorgeous too. Great Kew pics a always! The autumn colours are glorious, aren't they.

Thank you for your visit, and I'm glad you like the latest Tiny Carpet. I usually remember to take progress photos but sometimes get so much in the zone that I forget! Working with the colours one by one made this easier, I think. As for the kitties, we are always saying what a hard life they lead haha!

Happy WOYWW,

Loving the new stash Helen, especially that ferny stencil set. I did give in and get the 'crackling campfire' last week (love orange) but haven't had a chance to play yet. The autumn colours are really starting to come through now, my green acer has gone bright red in the last few days, just stunning. Have a good week and don't work too hard!! Stay well, stay safe, Cindy #25

Love that fern stencil/mask -0 how useful is that!!
Gorgeous coaster - might have to plunge myself.
Love the Speckled Egg but not sure about the Crackling Campfire - it is so strong a colour - it drowned all my other colours out so use sparingly.

OOh that leafy stencil is very cool Helen, Hopefully with the new restrictions Gardens will still be open since its "out doors" kwim. Provided the transports go there? ( I have the idea you do not drive yourself places living in a city) ~Stacy #33

Hi Helen!
Thank you for the visit and the well wishes for Kassie. I'm pretty excited. My daughter is a minimalist and hasn't kept anything so I stopped making 'keepsake' type items for her and the grandgirls years ago. The quilts and the afghans I make for our grandgirls, I keep in their trunks here. Kassie is different. She is rooted in family, tradition and precious things. She's more like me :-) LOL

Love your play. stencil/ mask always ups the ante for options. Creative Blessings! Kelly #31

Love when they give you the mask and stencil - those leafy ferns are amazing. Did you just get CC in the Oxide? If you think that's bright you should see the ink!! Speckled Egg is pure heaven - I'm sure you'll enjoy playing. Off to visit Kew now.
