this page started off quite bright, with torn book and music score pages. (the latter a gift from LLJ at a crop several years ago)
the colours are Neocolour IIs then blended with a damp brush,
before adding more paper, and gesso (it was just too bright)
I took a stencil (had it ages, not used it) and some blue paint
added some solidifying crackle paste (Deco Art) through a stencil, was pleasantly surprised to find it still crackled
added a sentiment (Paperartsy stamp set)which I cut up
and scribbled round the edges.
am really impressed that the paste crackled in such small spaces in the stencil. They are really tiny squares.
That's it for me today (apart from the obligatory Kew link!)

Fab page Helen. The crackling is indeed impressive in such small amounts. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
So many interesting textures on one page, Helen!

I’ve had a go with cracking some years ago, it’s amazing stuff.
Have a good week Helen

Hi Helen, loving the new journal pages, gorgeous textures. You may be surprised to know that I've actually finished one of my old ones. We're off to the Lincolnshire show today but no idea what the weather will be like but it's okay at the moment in as far as it's not raining yet. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x
These books allow for so much talent to be used in a small space. I love your pages and those colors are amazing.

I do like anything with music on! Fancy you still having that sheet music after all these years, it really adds to the pages :-)
Hugs LLJ 12 xxx
So glad DecoArt got it right! A favourite of mine for paints and related stuff.
You made a beautiful page there and i must say I did like it at the beginning when it was so bright and bold- might have been tempted to leave it.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
Well, I wouldn’t have covered so much of the colour...but then it wouldn’t have been such a great page! Love your surprise at the crackle still working, I too am impressed that it went through the teeny squares so effectively. Now you’ve used the stencil, does it pass muster? I think it could be s useful as a harlequin one.
love the coulors on the page great work.. Happy WOYWDW Lilian #17
Love your page and all the effects you get from all the different techniques.

Happy WOYWW. I love a bit of crackling! Ali x #23
Hi Helen, That is indeed a very impressive journal page. I've used crackle a couple of times myself, and am impressed with it. Must use it some more, if I can get the lid off. It had welded itself on last time I wanted to use it, and Mr M had to use brute force! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #11
Hi Helen, great run through of the journal page. Love what you did with it, and how cool the product still works! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #14 X
great page! I love how you toned it down, and used crackle! It looks lovely! Have a great week, Lindart #25
Beautiful journal page! I love how it starts one way but ends up completely different. Sometimes not at all what we had planned. LOL Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #26
What a wonderful page. So inspiring and interesting. Happy WOYWW. With Love & God Bless, Caro x (#10)

Fab page. The Gesso really knocked the colour back and I like the crackled squares. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #24
Love it Helen. I should also take note of the words! Anne x #18
Love your music pages, Helen - right on time to celebrate Cardiff Singer of the World! Gorgeous colours. Thank you for your visit. Sorry to hear you're another dental phobic... Our dentist rubs stuff on before the injection and you hardly feel it. It's the drill that does it for me - I can't stand the noise!!! Happy 60th for next week. I was 66 at the end of last month and I haven't a clue how that happened. Terrifying, isn't it! I find it hard to believe my friend was celebrating her 60th. It only seems like yesterday when we had the party for her 50th. She told me she's still got the card I made for her then. I'm glad you liked the card I made for her this time.
Happy WOYWW,

Always love seeing your journal pages ... something I keep promising myself I will attempt but it shouts "art" to me and that scares the life out of me. Have yet to pluck up the courage to get back to my project ... I have reds & oranges planned and I NEVER have used reds and oranges before so EEK!!!! Take care Helen, love Debbie xXx
I love the descriptions of what you do even though it doesn't mean much to me it helps me understand how hard you work to create those lovely pages. xx Jo
Playing catch-up is a bit difficult, especially when I was gone for two days. I was tremendously impressed with the end result. You totally transformed this journal page, although I like the brighter color, too, Wow, those really ARE tiny squares. This turned out perfect.
I've been a shockingly poor visitor lately... great to see how this page shifted and changed. I love the end result and those are fabulous words.
