WOYWW 419

Another week has flown by with nothing done craft-wise in between desk posts. But once again it is time to share my desk today with the lovely Julia

On Saturday I got home from the hairdresser's to find a box on the doorstep.. well tucked by the step and the wheelie bin..
it was a very little box (I know you can't get the sense of scale from the photo) - I was expecting something, but was a bit surprised at the small-ness of the box!
some Jane Davenport washi tape.. the flat packet is described as "sheets" of tape and although they didn't break the bank, I was kind of expecting them to be bigger...
the rolls of tape, 7 different ones, all with faces, and different widths, had also appealed to me!

This brand is only newly available in the UK and I know that it is quite a pricey one anyway..
Time will tell if I get anything else from the range..
I really really missed going to Kew last weekend (not that I'd have been able to go anyway had I not had the hair appointment, due to weekend engineering works on the train) ... I think the lack of a long walk in the fresh air contributed to me being bored on Sunday and couldn't settle to anything crafty.

I did get round to putting together the top 2 boxes in this tower of boxes...
they have big poppers (that you can possibly see on the front), so fit together quite easily... They come from The Works... two for £10

These 4 boxes hold my Paperartsy stamps - there were previously in just the bottom 2, but I have spread them out a bit as they were getting a bit crushed and some of the stamps were getting damaged... so now they have room to breathe (and I have ready made space for new ones... which are being released this week.... guess who's already been shopping!)

no progress has been made on the journal page from last time; even though I still don't think it's finished.

I did put some washi tape (no idea where this one came from!) on the last page in the book... and there it has sat, again...

So that's me for this week... will be hopping along to your desks soon.

Happy WOYWW!

I will be going to Kew this weekend (weather permitting) so stand by for more photos!

Looking forward to seeing some more of your fab photography Helen so hoping that the weather is kind to you at weekend.
Must investigate this Jane D washi tape, sounds interesting and I am a fan of her face drawing - just wish I could draw faces like she does.

Hope you find some interesting uses for your new buys. The stacking of boxes is an art in itself... I don't know how you remember what is in each box. I often stumble across something at the back of my cupboard and feel like I have struck gold.

Wow, those JD sheets and washi tape are something I would never have considered buying. But the fact they were so small makes a statement.

I'll look forward to seeing you at Kew this weekend, because I'm not playing at WOYWW this week.

I love your new storage system but I'm certain I would always want what's in the bottom box hehehe. At least you have room for more stash now....enjoy.

Must admit to being a washi addict - now on my second coathanger - so I did peruse the washi sheets ....... curiosity more than the desire to buy although ..... I could be persuaded!
Looks like the weather will add to your pleasure at Kew this weekend.
Enjoy

Hi Helen, can't say that Washi tape has grabbed me, nut I love the one with the faces on- thats beautiful. Always a bit of a shocker when stuff doesn't turn out to be the size expected. Not always easy to tell online, and if you're like me, rarely actually pay any attention to the sizes on the page! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #9 XxX

Hi Helen, I'm like Annie, always wanting the bottom box! I often don't pay attention to the size of things I buy online (shocking for an engineer ;-) ) but I like your tape. Enjoy Kew and have a good week, hugs, Lynne x

I love the boxes! I have some smaller ones. They have there here on sale quite regularly and are a good price to store stuff. You would think with all the boxes I'd be a little more organised - I'm not! I've seen those sheets of washi tape and I admit they don't look like much. I did buy some of the rolls as they are quite unusual and they were on sale. Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet.

Gotta love those two-for-ten-pounds deal at The Works... it does make it difficult to ever visit the City Centre here and not just 'pop in' and see what else they've got though lol
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy WOYWW - and how do you keep getting to No.1 spot?! Those washi tapes look fab - almost too good to use. I have emptied out a lot of boxes in my craft room (so much stash donated to charity) - but still got quite a few storage options. Not tried the popper boxes. Ali x #42

Hello Helen,
I've seen the Jane Davenport goodies in the store and wasn't impressed based on the price point. I've seen youtube videos of her watercolors and they appear to be very good quality and vibrant.

I've been knitting and doing some organization in my craft room. It's a VERY slow process.

Happy WOYWW!!
Peace, Kay (43)

Glad you spotted the box in its smallness. Bit of a box post this week isn't it? Glad to hear you have made space for more supplies too. Thanks for the visit BJ#5

I am always amazed at how they tend to just toss the parcels here and there...I complained that I never go where they put the last package and I was told they were just trying to protect me! What? If my husband hadn't gone out to the side of the house for something there is no telling how long it would have sat at the garage side door! I saw some Davenport tape, ink, and other stuff at Michaels the other day...first time ever! If I wasn't on a buying freeze I might have bought a lot! I needed an ink pad was the only reason I was there. I think you and I have a lot of stamps. Most of mine are in plastic boxes by set but I am considering breaking the sets up into individual designations...we will see Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my desk earlier. Vickie #26

I'm another one that has never used washi tape, but those new ones of yours do look lovely! I always love receiving parcels. Thank you for your lovely comment - unfortunately the carpenter is now not able to start till the beginning of July but after all this time in Mum's tiny kitchen, another couple of weeks won't make much difference so I don't mind. I'm sorry to have to report that Beatrice had to be put to sleep on Wednesday afternoon. Phoebe's passing seemed to accelerate her decline and the last 3 or 4 days we couldn't persuade her to eat, and she seemed to have lost the will to live. We knew we'd probably lose them both this year but never imagined it would be in the space of three weeks. We are feeling very lost and sad without them and the house feels horribly empty and quiet with no kitties in it. We are busy looking for 2 new little babies to love.

I've got a box full of washi tape. I like using it for wrapping presents when it's a particularly nice paper and might want to be used again. Or just sticking random bits of paper with notes on to things. It's very versatile isn't it
