Craft Barn Q&L 20 - Destiny

Last week when I was enjoying the sights and delights of Port Sunlight, the new Craft Barn Q&L (quotes and lyrics) challenge was announced - Destiny and/or Gift.

I only had time to start my research on quotes this morning as it took me a couple of days to recover from that trip, and then we had a work outing on Wednesday to see Evita (after dinner at Ramsey's Savoy Grill!!) and it took me a couple of days to recover from a fabulous - late - night out!

Anyhow, I decided to play with some of my new goodies - as you do!
I applied pan pastels to my journal page, I used yellow/oranges with some blue - and my new colourless blender, which is fabulous fun

and my Lavinia toadstools

then came a bit of a disaster and I should have started again really... I wrote out my quote, that was ok.  but I attempted a flourish by hand instead of searching for a stamp..

so out came a Kaisercraft border

I also attempted to use some Chunky White Embossing powder to create some star effects in the background, I think I need to practice this!
but overall, it has turned out reasonably ok...

Entering the Craft Barn challenge here

Love those Lavinia toadstools and nearly bought them too but found a Sweet Poppy Stencil with similar shapes & got that instead, thinking the stencil will be more versatile, play time will tell.

Fantastic page for the Challenge. Found my words a few days ago, waiting for some inspiration to strike so might look again.

Funny that Val didn't get a PP Blender especially as she told me she only had 6 and then put them ALL out to sell lol. Hope she manages to get them back in soon! :-) xxx

Dinner at Ramsey's eh, well, la-di-dah! Lol - hope it lived up to its reputation.
Those stamps are fabulous with the drops of water on them. So real looking. I like your background colours and the quote is fab.
Thank you for your lovely comment on my page - two sleeps to go, and the excitment is mounting :o)

Beautiful, Helen. I haven't come across the colourless blender before. I've still got to get to grips with my pan pastels - one day!! I bought only a few, mostly primary colours, hoping to be able to mix and blend them, so perhaps the new blender will be useful. Off to find out about it.

I'm loving that stamp - something else to add to my wish list! I think 3 of us have used that quote - just proves what a fab one it is!!

Darn... another product I need on my list! Never heard about the blender so just looked it up and it sounds the answer to a smooth pastel blend. Great page and great choice of quote.
The chunky embossing powder must be difficult in a journal as it's better to heat them from underneath to avoid blowing it away.

What you call disaster, I call Flopportunity. You did a sensational job of elevating the quote AND the artwork to a spectacular level. I really like it!
