Content? inspired by Seth Apter for Paperartsy

This week, we have welcomed back Penny and Helen, and Elizabeth shared her lovely new stamps, but I was really taken with Seth's journal page based on a black gesso background, so that's what I've done.
I bought some black gesso a while ago but not really used it - I loved how Seth used it under the Fresco paints.. you can see his page here

I used Caramel, Sky Blue and Guacamole over the gesso
the same script stamp as Seth, as I love it!  Stencilled some circles from the TCW mini coffee splotch and well rounded stencils, using Honey Dew and Toffee
used Guacamole on top of my crackle glaze - used the catalyst tooth comb to add some scratches
added Seth's  stencils in Little Black Dress - the 'content' and the squares down the side (as I knew I wouldn't be able to draw face to use as a mask) and then added some Sage which I mostly wiped off with a babywipe and some of the small coffee splats with Caramel.
added some flicks of LBD off the end of a paintbrush (went everywhere lol!) and some white gesso dipped in the end of a syringe.  Also mixed a little Snowflake in a bottle of water and spritzed that.

Not very content with that bit...
Outlined the word in white sharpie marker

and the squares with a  black pen down one side and the white sharpie the other.
some of this I like - the black squares, the crackle, and the script stamping, but the Guacamole over the crackle has got a bit lost, should have used a darker colour, not something from the background.

Anyhow, it was fun playing with the black gesso, and I am entering this page to the Paperartsy challenge here

I'm a huge fan of Seth and I love what you've done with his inspiration! This is a great look: I love it! I love the circles and those black squares and I adore working with layers. If only there were more hours in the day! I haven't done my journal for ages and I so want to have a go at some of Seth's and Darcy's techniques! Ah well, one day! Julie Ann xxx
