it's a bit yellow...

I started this journal page with some leftover Chalk, French Roast and Chutney Fresco paints.. just little streaks from the cut and dry foam; that I'd used in my Craft Barn piece earlier.
I painted over the whole page with watered down Vanilla and then stamped the scratchy triangle by Ellen Vargo for Paperartsy, using Orange Blossom archival ink (Ranger) .

I wanted to blend the stamping into the background more though, so used Pumpkin Soup - too much - added watered down Vanilla ..
Then I mixed some Grunge Paste with Blood Orange on my craft mat, it got very sloppy at this stage and splodged under the stencil (PS005) but I love the colour.  Used the bubbles (PS001) and plain Blood Orange, just paint.  Now what.... ?
words.. these are from an Artistic Stamper set... black archival ink. Needs more texture...

Caught sight of the babywipe I'd used on my canvas on Saturday for the Paperartsy challenge.... Die cut some flowers from the Paperartsy grungy flower dies.  Layered up the flowers, snipped the edges to the flowers, and fixed them together with brads.  Heat them again with the heat gun and pushed and pulled at them a bit.

Glued them to the page with  matte medium (of which I'm running out) but didn't stick (or I was too impatient!) so used heavy structure gel; squished the petals about to get some dimension and so they weren't too flat.

Not sure if it's the poor light, or if this is a good rendition of the colour... may try again tomorrow in daylight!

But, this was a fun page to make!

Love how the scratchy triangles disappear into the background after your treatment (what a great stamp!) and I really love the blood orange colour and stencil, fab flower. I don't understand how you know it needed texture at that point...I'll never get it! The baby wipe flowers are a genius idea!

I was drawn to those triangles and was disappointed when they disappeared. But in the end, I like the results you got with this. Really lovely spread.

What a FUN page, even if you did have to do battle with some of it. (grin) Love the colored paste, don't know why I haven't thought of it.

I think it is a fantastic journal page!!

This is such a beautiful page, Helen. Those flowers look like real dried flowers. Lovely colours too! Sorry I've only just made it to comment. I don't seem to have time for anything atm! Not quite sure why! Glad I stopped by to see this lovely spread, though. Julie Ann xxx
