Earlier this week, Michelle shared an altered papier mache pencil box (available from Paperartsy) and by chance I had one of these for Christmas (thanks Lynne!)
So tonight, after some gentle coaxing on twitter, I decided to have a go... Check out how other crafters have been inspired this week, here
Michelle used different colours inside and out of hers, but I went for a mix of purples - Eggplant (fast becoming my new favourite...!) Moonlight, and Pansy. I didn't use much Pansy on the inside.
Once the paint was dry, I sanded the outside lightly.
This is before I added a little Pansy to the inside.
When I eventually found the drawer containing my Brilliance inkpads, I used Lightning Black and the lines stamp from HPXT01 that Michelle used, stamping it randomly on the outside and inside lid of the case. Heat set it to dry.
Then I took the swirl stamp (a free cover stamp from the Craft Stamper some time ago) and stamped it using Seedless Preserves distress ink. I blotted it lightly with a paper towel and found it then heat set quite successfully.
Entering this to the Paperartsy 'inspired by' challenge again.

You have selected lovely colours for this.
What was functional is now beautiful.
You didn't need much persuading to make this pencil case! You've used great colours and fabaroonie stamps too Helen. Is really great. I wonder what you and Jax are going to fill your pencil cases with? Good luck for Sunday's draw. Michelle xx
