WOYWW 183

Hello, welcome back to What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday, edition 183 probably (I will check before I hit publish!)  The first Tuesday in the month is my sister in law's craft club and hopefully I will have remembered to take some photos to add to this post!! Otherwise it will look a little bare...

The idea this time is to make tags, gifty type tags... which as you will see in a minute, is a little presumptuous....

Since we last met I have had a disaster with a pipe in the kitchen coming adrift from the tap and causing some very wet floor tiles (carpet!) and much dampness generally. This was Sunday lunchtime.  Fortunately a neighbour was around to help me fix it, but now I have to get the chap who fitted my new tap, back to sort out a little residual leak.... grrrrrr

So I haven't found a new job, I haven't done my Christmas shopping, I haven't even written my cards. I saw a list on Julia's blog yesterday of things she hasn't done either..... we are doing well and 'not doing' between us!!!

But here are some pics from Craft Club (yeh, I remembered!)
 me, at a desk....

my gift tag/atc's.  the time seems to fly, this was all I got done! I did give some of the other novice stampers a quick lesson on distress inks too!

Looking forward to seeing your desks and crafty spaces soon! Have a good week.

Helen, I'm getting worried - your floor is ever so lonely...can't you hear its mournful cries.. 'Helen, don't forget meeeeee......' *grin*
A floor is for life, not just Christmas!

Sorry, couldn't resist it!!!

Your tags look lovely, I hope your tap gets fixed soon, that must of been totally annoying to have to clean up after the leak....
Have a great week and I hope you get to cross things off your list...

No presents bought yet.
Only two "C" cards made.
No idea where we are spending Christmas.
Not an idea on food I am going to buy.
No decs up or thoughts on them.
No time.

That's me Helen so I am pretty much in the same position as you are although you have made tags.
Can we go back to November please?

Hugs, Neet xx 46

Morning Helen and thanks for visiting me already this week. Is is snowing your way too, we have a light dusting here. Nice to see you at a desk, did you sort your own out in the end? Great tags too, I never really think to use the tags I make for their intended purpose. I'm getting right into art journaling after my epic November daily challenge. St Rafael's still have music score in their charity shop - got a nose as I was looking for an old Bible to rip up now - need a tatty one as I can't bear to use a readable one iyswim. They have my number....

Argh! Expect you needed the couple of hours of craft club to help you feel sane again. Water is insidious, the damage is horrid and it takes so much clearing up. I'm sorry you haven't got a new job yet..but you will have, even if you have to take a little 'holiday' in between....
Meanwhile, loving the tag/ATCs...by far the nicest thing you've reported on in this post!

Have a great crafty week

So much to do at this time of year. I plan to make my own tags as well - easier than making all my Christmas cards so I've opted for charity cards this year. Thank goodnessthe leaky pipe is sorted - hope it didn't do too much damage.

Good to 'see' you today chickie! Don't concentrate on the 'what I haven't done yet' and think about what you have done - not going to list them here but try and think on the positive and you'll get the Christmas prep sorted in no time. Much, much Wednesday love x

You're a better woman than I: I've given up on gift tags. I tend to just write on the parcel.

Good luck with the job hunt - a full time job in itself!

What a bummer a leaky pipe is. So much mess and time. The tags look really pretty.

Oh no hope your leak is sorted out soon - you have done better than me as I havent done any tags yet! Sunshine Girl - no 21.

I never do tags, but after last year when Andrew and I chose the same wrapping paper without realising it and getting the presents totally mixed up perhaps I should!! Hope the job hunt bears fruit soon. You could always become a craft teacher it seems!

Loving the tags. I always tag gifts, as well as wrap for each person in one paper, but DHs family always writes a LOT on the tags - a bit of a cryptic hint at what lies within. It tends to slow down the whole tearing in to the gifts which was great when the kids were littler. Now it's a slower pace anyway and more of a family fun time. You are doing well, so focus on all you have done not what is left to do - that way lies madness! :)

Happy WOYWW

Ah, yes the list of things not quite finished, or need to do. We all fall into that from time to time. My list is longer than Julia's so I didn't add it to my blog, she says to keep it short LOL Great tags, sorry to hear about leak......just what you needed for the holidays....NOT

Helen! You are at a desk!!!! Oh, let me tell you all the things I have NOT done...but the list would be much too long for a comment. I am wishing you the best to get your things done, and find your new job. You are so sweet and talented, I can tell. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #84

Hey Helen, thanks for visiting and commenting on my desk last week - sorry I didn't get to do the same; time ran away from me! Still, here we are this week - you'll be pleased to know I've done some stamping, got (a little!) messy, and loved it! Hope your pipe/leak/tap gets fixed and doesn't cause you trouble. Have a good WOYWW, Deb # 106 x

I also have a long list of things that I have not done, many of which I don't really want to do either. Although I made the cards early, I am still as late as ever in getting things finished. So I have every sympathy with you and Julia. I have a resolution for next year - to try things I have never done before, which may include getting Christmas done in good time. Good luck with your list. xx Maggie #62

Wow - you're at a desk - that's not good for you!!! Hope you dry out soon - that's really annoying to have work done then have a catastrophe like that!
Glad you have your crafting session to relax a bit - lovely to pass your knowledge/expertise onto new stampers!
Hope you have a better week, thanks for the visit to "my place"

Cool little gift tags, Helen! I'm so sorry you had a flood and I hope the chap is able to fix the problem permanently with little hassle. That's the last thing anyone needs, especially this time of year when time is even more dear. All the best! Darnell #58

Oh dear, what a horrible thing to happen at this time of year - dampness and manky carpet! You have my sympathy. OK, you may not have achieved all that you wanted to, but at least you got to the craft club, and you look well stuck in, and enjoying yourself!!

Thanks for your nice comment. page 1 of my album is now virtually complete (apart from all the things I keep thinking I've got to put in lol!) and it's got pretty bulky!

Happy WOYWW,

lol Does sound like you are doing fine at not doing. :) Your tags are very colorful! Making tags is such fun but I end up making them so big and over the top that I feel like they belong on a card and the next thing I know there I am putting them on a card! lol Thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving me a sympathetic comment. I appreciate it! :) Deeyll #122
