WOYWW 748

Hello, deskers, welcome to October...and welcome to WOYWW

so, following on from last week's daubing of the neons, I carried on, on both pages.

on the left I added some more  neon gloss,  from the dropper - dripping blobs this time. added some stencilled paint (sky) and on the right page I used the neon paint through a stencil - it's a much more subtle neon over the white gesso

some collage tissue pieces and a couple of stamped figures.

I fully intended to have added a quote to the left page to finish it, but Sunday was taken up watching the Ryder Cup golf (go Europe) and ... that was it.

Saturday was the last "early" at Kew, at 8am - I shall miss the fabulous light at that time but not the 5am alarm time.

I seem to have picked purple for my Kew highlights this time!

this is the centrepiece of the new autumn feature "Queer Nature" in the Temperate House

Kim had her operation to pin her ankle finally on Friday and was allowed home on Tuesday - awaiting some aids to help at home whilst she recovers - crutches (although i hope they sent her home with one pair) and a grab rail for the loo, etc

Thanks for looking, and I'll catch your desk soon,
Happy WOYWW

Oh my goodness the purple flower is exquisite especially with the dew on it, I wonder if I could paint that? The neon pages are super, I really must make some more tissue stamped collage paper, so useful. BJ#?

I liked the neon through the stencil best. LOVE the tissue.

Sorry I haven't made it to Kew this week. I hope Kim gets better soon. No number yet. Julia must be really tired.

Love the neon, still not sold on the droppers, but boy howdy - you really made them work!

Happy desk-hop day!

Loving the neon colours. The droppers look really useful. I have some but can't think that I've ever used them but you've given me an idea. Loving the colours on the photographs too and hope Kim is getting on okay. Have a lovely week and a happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x1x

Pleased to read that Kim is pinned and home, doesn't sound at all like a nice thing to have to undergo, specially if she then needs extra support at home, I wish her well in her recovery. I quite like the Queer Nature centrepiece, colours are lovely aren't they, although they are to me, more in touch with summer than Autumn. But I guess that's the queer part, huh. I'm loving the neons, and the fact that you can actually use them in a more subtle way over white if you'd like to. They're quite invigorating aren't they. Do you use a brush when stencilling with them?

Beautiful pages but ooh that centrepiece - love the colours, it sort of looks like painted copper. Hope Kim recovers quickly, sounds horrible. Bet Kew looks lovely still, Autumn seems to be holding off around here. Which is as it should be as in my book September is still Summer. (I have this argument with my hubby every year!!) Looks like October is giving it a go as well as all the traditional summer months failed miserably this year. Have a good week, love n hugs, Cindy xx #14

The golf was exciting wasn’t it?! The Yanks had been a bit obnoxious prior to the tournament so I was quietly pleased that Europe gave them a drubbing!! Love the colours from Kew, I’m really into purples at the moment so enjoyed your beautiful photos xx

Wonderful neon pages! Neons are not colours I have ever worked with before, I don't think I even have any. Purple is my favourite colour, so your purple flowers are lovely! I really like that purple daisy! Here's hoping that Kim heals quickly! Have a great week, Lindart #19

I have a suitable book, or even books...but still haven't splashed out with any paint yet...I guess the first slattered is the hardest! (Or maybe choosing what colour to start with!) Yours look great! Late again this week, the days just fly by! Have a great week, Happy Late WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#20
