WOYWW 637

I can't quite believe it's Wednesday already,  time for another desk sharing day... it's WOYWW

As they say, I'll show you mine if you show me yours....

some new goodies arrived just in time to star today..

the third set of Dina's scribble sticks,  I have the first two but have finally got the last set.
plus, a stencil and a die that had been sat in my online basket for a week or two, forgotten about until I noticed the scribble sticks were in stock.

ordered Sunday, delivered Tuesday.. (from Stampers Grove)

Not had time to play yet, I've been watching the cricket!

I didn't play much at the weekend either,  I had Saturday morning at Kew, of course, and when i got home I had to cut the grass, which was well overdue
but I did manage one journal page, in the Kraft journal, although you'd not know as I painted it black to start!!

one of the members of the Dina Wakley supporter group had posted a picture of a black page which she'd used scribble sticks to stamp with and I had to have a go

I think I've shared this method before, you spritz a stamp with water and then add the scribble sticks to the stamp and when you stamp you get a sort of watercolour effect - Beth had tried it on a black page - and when the stamped image dries, the colours really pop.   I will definitely do this over black again. This was what pushed me to get the third set of scribble sticks!  this collection includes some of the metallic colours

As for Kew on Saturday - well at least it didn't rain...  pics are here

That's it from me,  I'll be round to see what you've got on show soon.

Happy WOYWW  !

Great technique there Helen. Our lawns need cutting too but as soon as we get the lawnmower out after a dry patch it seems to rain again lol. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7

So your on the cricket kick as well Helen, we sort of gave it away to India in the Test but I am totally fixated with the Hundred, love the pace and excitement of it all. Not a bad start Saturday either.

Enjoy your new goodies, my latest indulgence is the new Timmy Mica Stains, lush colours.

I’ve never heard of scribble sticks before (what are they? Like pastel or wax?) but they work very well against the black. Hope the other new stash items provide you with as much joy too! I’ve been enjoying the cricket as well, the Hundred is exciting!

Beautiful Kew photos Helen. That purple berried plant came up in a Cornish friend’s post. It was suggested that it’s Dianella ensifolia. I don’t know how feasible that is
Take care and happy WOYWW

How I missed you this morning I just don't know. Love your pages with the scribble sticks. Never heard of them but I suspect they are good if DW promotes them. Nice new stash too.

I’ve used Neo watercolour crayons on a stamp and then spritzed, but not the other way around. Haven’t tried them on black either…never occurred to me. I might, one day! The Hundred games have been better than the test I reckon, they prove that England’s got some players that really can do about 50 runs in less than 3 days! I really quite enjoyed the match weren’t to see, would definitely go again, much cheaper than a test! ( £15). Nice die, can see that being pretty useful.

I’m running late doing my visits but at least I’m here this week.
I have no real idea how you did it but I really like the effects on the black. Have fun with the new stash.

Good Wednesday, Madam Enabler!!! LOLOL You ALWAYS have some of the best crafty items to share with us, Helen!! And, ALWAYS do such lovely things with them. I haven't seen Dina's scribble sticks, but I have tried to stay off the internet lately due to all the temptations lately!! LOLOL Fall coming on and EVERYONE and their brother putting out new fall products!! Ugggghhh!! I love how those impressions turned out on the black background and, like you said, trying them with the metallic ones will be even more impressive!! Great Kew photos this week, as always!! I love the orange "hangy" ones that look like they might be from some spider lily family and my all-time favorite flower, the stargazer lily!! The one after that is pretty amazing looking as well! And of course, who doesn't love mushrooms!! Thanks for sharing your talent with us Helen! You are an amazing photographer!! Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia #26

I've never heard of scribble sticks before, Helen. Interesting effect! Thank you for your visit, and for the heads up on my misnumbering. I was obviously more discombobulated by last week's events than I realised! Actually we were half way to the funeral today before I realised that I had not published my blog post or booked a Tesco delivery slot just after midnight last night which is what I always do before bed on Tuesday. I'd got the blog post ready but hadn't checked it through and had to get online when we arrived (not easy!). The week number is now corrected.

My hubby is absolutely fine, thanks, and forgiven by Lily! Thank you for your good wishes for Friday.

Happy WOYWW,
