WOYWW 624 - When we were 12

Hello, happy deskers,  it's week 624 of WOYWW  - we are 12.  A big thanks to Julia for starting (and keeping it  going), this wonderful desk hop - it's never too late to join the fun - here

My atcs are ready to post - just waiting for my PIF partner to send them off and i've already had a couple  in the mail - thanks Caro and Jan - but i'll wait till next week to share them, along with the ones I'm sending out.

I failed completely to find postcards of Sutton, and unlike Jan wasn't clever enough to get my own picture of Sutton printed.  So, it's atcs only.

So, you're here to see a desk floor  (after 12 years, still on the floor)

I took this sideways on sitting at the computer

you can see my pile of envelopes (under the stamps)  ready to go

and a journal page I finished off on Tuesday

(today, at time of writing - I was off work today as I was having a smart meter fitted )

it's inthe 6x6 white Dina Wakley journal

I have an order on the way to me (almost enabling, for WOYWW)  with some more goodies.
It may even be waiting for me at the office tomorrow

Last weekend's Kew post is here

it wasn't quite as wet last week!  Back to an 8am entry slot this Saturday, and the glasshouses are open again with the latest easing in restrictions which I am really looking forward to, and there is a new exhibition in one of the galleries too called Naturally Brilliant Colour which should be fabulous.

Thanks to all of you WOYWWers who have made the last 12 years such fun, whether you are new or old  long established members of the group  - you all make Wednesdays a fun day!

Happy 12th anniversary. Looks like I'm your P.I.F. partner. I have your e-mail from your profile, so will contact you soon. Your ATC and postcards will be in the mail today, dear. The youngsters are going to LOVE it that I'm sending you an ATC. I'm a bit worried, though, since you make such amazing art all the time. Sure love that spread on your floor desk. Yes, I'm #10.

Love the new view of your 'desk' Helen. Glad there will be opportunities to go into the glass houses again at Kew this weekend. Love the latest journal page. Hope the new goodies arrive soon. Stay safe and happy 12th anniversary WOYWW. Sarah #9

Now, at first, I read that as you took the photo of your desk whilst sitting ON the computer ... then I thought that would be silly - make for a fab photo ... but silly! So I read it again and the penny dropped! I love your trips to Kew ... have you seen there is a programme on TV recently about the goings on there? I meant to tell you about it but it went clean out of my head so I hope you are already aware of it ... we all need you to watch it to make sure they are doing everything right because you must surely know the place better than anyone working there! Happy 12th Anniversary dear friend ... much love from Debbie xXx

Morning Helen
Happy WOYWW anniversary, and what a shame there is no meet up to celebrate, the one in Llandudno was such fun.
Love the pic of your "desk", I have stuff like that too.
That picture of an aliumis so beautiful, and I have one very similar in my garden, such majestic flowers. I love looking at your Kew photos, we are unlikely ever to get to visit it in person, so your pictures are the next best thing. Thanks for sharing

Always pure pleasure to visit your floor-desk and see your amazing journal pages. I have been far too busy cleaning and getting treatments to do any of that and it is starting to get to me - but seeing your art is a tonic for that for sure. Happy we can trade, will get to the PO (or hubby will) by Saturday. Roll on the next 12 years, right?

Happy 12th Anniversary to all my desk-hopping mates!

Thanks for sorting out my ATC escapee, lol!! Doh, be great if I had a brain.... Happy 12th, dear friend and thank you for being such a great commenter and support over the years xxx. I like the different square shape of the journal, I think it’s a good change from the standard notebooks, have fun with it and your new stash!

Thought about you last night when I saw the ad for the programme on Kew - recording now. I must visit your Kew blog as I got out of the habit and have not go back in as yet. Will remedy soon - like today.
Love the journal page - will wait for the new stuff to arrive and then decide what I need - you are a naughty enabler but I like you.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx

Hi Helen, many thanks for your kind comments earlier. Your journal page is lovely and as ever I adore how you “take me” to Kew. I shall have to see if euphorbia likes Kent chalk, the combination of them with purple alliums is stunning.
I’m not surprised there are no postcards in Sutton. I worked there for a year when we were building the Channel Tunnel. Even Folkestone had a dearth of them.
Take care and happy WOYWW anniversary

"Choose Happy" is a wonderful motto - I do believe it's an attitude rather than something that happens to us. Enjoy Kews on Saturday - I'll keep an eye out for your ATC - mine should be arriving soon too! Happy Anniversary and thanks for your visit! xx zsuzsa #17

Hi Helen, Happy Anniversary. I love the new view of your space and I did think to my self I bet the color you want is nearly always on the bottom of the stack ( that's what happens to me anyways) *grin* The sentiment on the page is great too. ~Stacy #35

You sound as busy as always, Helen - I love the new view of your "desk"! It always amazes me that you can work on the floor. Blocking out my jumper the other day on the floor was totally exhausting! Thank you for your comment - yes, my hubby loves the kitty throw and is thrilled with it, and his reaction was definitely worth it! Thank you for your good wishes for my appointment on Monday.

Happy WOYWW,

Happy 12th Helen! I’m pretty sure you’re amongst the longest and most consistent , so a badge to say it reallywouldn’t be the same without you and a badge to say that we all look to you for floor work, journal and colour. And a badge to say how glad I am that we met. Crafting. And my sister thinks it’s boring!! I’m sorry that the postcard thing gave you the run around, very glad you came to the conclusion that an ATC is good enough. It really is!! Excited to see the Kew exhibition through your lens. Am never again going to see that we want to come and see something specific...it nobbles it every time. Hope your delivery is waiting for you at work today!

Hi Helen, happy 12th Anniversary. I'm laughing as I type this, as it took me quite a while to realise you had no desk, and that you crafted on the floor. I would never get up if I was crafting on the floor! I love your posts and your Kew updates, and yes ... your enabling on occasions! It has been great getting to know you through this blog, and then meeting you for real at the Crop! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #20

Once I get down on the floor, I have to stay there coz it takes ages to get up again! I love the reserved sign, its as though its saving a space for some new crafting goodies to arrive! Hi Helen! Happy 12th Anniversary! Sorry I'm so late, the days just get away from me somehow. Thank you for your visit to mine, and for all the congrats about the new Grandbaby. She is so cute, and already giving her Mama all sorts of trouble (well, she's a Taurus!) I definitely agree with "choose happy", I think we all have that choice. Sometimes it's easier than others, however! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #36

Happy WOYWW 624, H!

So, I guess full enabling will resume next blog (tomorrow)? LOL

I think the day that you move to a desk will be a day that most of us have a heart attack from the shock, so please do warn us all first. Lovely journal page, as always...
