WOYWW 603 - it's Chriiiiiisssssstmaaaaaasssssss

Well, nearly!  A very unusual Christmas for everyone this year, obviously, and those of us in Tier 4 means no mixing except for people in your "bubble"  but I don't really have a bubble (apart from socially distanced covid safe work colleagues)  so it will be Christmas at home for me.  Not that that is all that unusual, I often do it after all.

but before we get on to that, time for our final WOYWW before the big day!

I don't have any crafting to share this week - unless you count some wrapped Christmas presents!  Luckily, I decided to get out early on Saturday morning to buy the few gifts I needed - thank goodness I didn't leave it till Sunday or I'd have been reduced to wrapping vegetables from the supermarket after the announcement of tier 4 and the shutting of non essential shops.

so Sunday morning saw me wrapping said presents...

you can see what a small space I had - good thing the gifts were small in size and number!  (my space I kneel to craft in...)

I hope to be able to at least swap gifts with my brother before Friday even if it means just a brief chat on the doorstep!

I have said before that I don't have room for a Christmas tree - well I sort of do, a tiny tree with lights on the tips of the branches, on my hall window cill overlooking the street (that's the lights further back, outside lights from along the road.)

I finish work today (Wednesday) until 4th January, a nice long break - would be better if I could go to Kew as I had intended, a couple of times, but whilst they remain open I will forego my time slots and follow the rules to stay home where possible.
I hope that most people will also follow the rules and not mix in larger numbers than allowed, or travel too far, or we'll never get out of this mess!

Wishing you all as happy a Christmas as you can this year - and hopefully next year we will be better placed to celebrate .  Happy WOYWW!

Morning Helen. What lovely cheerful wrapping paper! Well done on going shopping Saturday! Yes, tier 4 is somewhat tight restrictions isn't it. In Wales we are in virtually a complete lockdown - so I, too, will be having Christmas Day here on my own as I don't have a bubble either.
Take care. Have a precious Christmas Day. God bless.

Happy WOYWW and congrats on the No.1 spot (I was up early, but not that early!). We also went out on Saturday to drop off presents with family/friends (doorstep chats), and decided to go to our local favourite town whilst we waited until the time to collect our takeaway. So glad we did, as it was fairly quiet and we went in my favourite shop - and I treated myself to a few goodies. We then went back to both Aldi and Lidl, as they were also quiet, and got the turkey missed from my Tesco delivery earlier in the day and other festive essentials. Plenty of stock in both stores - no need for panic buying. I then had a Morrisons delivery on Monday morning, so we are now ok until next week. Time to relax! Wales is also in Tier 4, so the already quiet planned Christmas is now even quieter (were meant to be having my stepdaughter and her young children here for lunch tomorrow). I also hope that people will be sensible and that 2021 will see this virus beaten. Merry Christmas. Ali x #5

Beautiful wrapping! I do so like a festive pile of presents under the tree. And your tiny tree casts a lovely glow. Sad indeed a physically close Christmas has been snatched away from us this year but hopefully things will change. I am suggesting we all have another Christmas in July, if all goes well.

Merry Christmas to all of WOYWW!

Love your wrapping paper, thar’s very smart indeed! I’m glad you got out before everything was clamped down again. Your lovely card came after I’d taken the pic but it is up there in my gallery now and very much admired, thank you! I hope you manage to have a good Christmas despite all the madness.

It's a nice feeling when everything's wrapped isn't it! I love your little tree, and it's a lot easier to put up being that size - at least you don't have to grapple it out of the loft!
Hope you enjoy your Christmas break despite the new restrictions,

When I heard of tier 4 I straight away thought of you and your being on your own at Christmas. Do hope you managed to buy some food for the day when you bought those presents. They look lovely all wrapped up.

Lucky indeed that you managed to do your shopping the day before lockdown! I love that wrapping paper! Like you, the restrictions don't really affect us either as we do the same thing we normally do at Christmas - which is just staying at home and enjoying some downtime. Have a lovely Christmas Helen - hopefully you can be back visiting Kews soon! xx zsuzsa #21

I think the wintertime is hard for folks who live on their own and can’t get out because the weather and Covid makes it all worse. Wishing you a happy Christmas and a Covid free new year x Angela #19

Hi Helen, I laughed at the comment about wrapping vegetables from the supermarket, but then with all the blocking of lorries from France - I thought vegetables might actually be very welcome presents if it doesn't get sorted! I do hope you manage to see your brother. I won't be seeing my siblings in person, due to the rules, but we have booked a Zoom meet up for Boxing day. Christmas Morning I will see my girls and their families for Christmas breakfast. I still haven't worked out how you managed to craft on the floor - I'd need someone there to help me up!! Have a lovely Christmas Helen, and hope Tier 4 doesn't last too long (I think we are heading there too). Take care, hugs Heather xx #30

Very smart present wrapping; down here in Kent the poor lorry drivers are marooned by the French border closure so wrapped veg could be very highly prized, soon. Take care, stay safe and happy Christmas

What a sweet post. I love your lights outside, my hubby even put some clear lights on our front deck and made a little tree from rerod, was on my FB page I wasn't going to decorate. No one coming but one day I had a surge of energy and I put EVERYTHING I own !!! And we have been enjoying it all. A good way to sort out and donate. We have had a delightful December 40/50's and today forecast wind/ice/snow and I think it's going to keep people all at HOME.
I enjoy being home, worked with public for years and don't miss any of it.
Wishing you all the best for your time off Enjoy every minute and Merry, Merry Christmas

Like you I am on my own this Christmas after being so careful all year I am not going to risk anything now. No doubt you will find something crafty to do sorry you can't go to Kew. I have bought no pressies this year because I can't get them to folk. Try and enjoy yourself and Merry Christmas. Ani

Hi Helen, I love that your tree is big enough for fairy lights :) ( I did not put up a big tree this year just little Sissle trees on a sideboard table where some stocking holders are also dangling from same table. We are not locked down as tight as you guys but, I am glad to see you are ready and not stressed. (( HUGS )) & Merry Christmas! ~Stacy #33

Love the wrapping paper...and I’m thinking that I love the sight of your stacks of Oxides too, they are right in hand for you, huh. Thank you for the lovely card. I’m sorry you won’t get to Kew over your hols, but I think you make the best decision, and you’re right, a lot of people have got to be a lot more responsible before life starts to recover. HPpy Christmas, hope you have a good day doing your thing! Xx

Sorry for the late visit Helen. I love the wrapping area - small space - you had to wrap. We had a small Christmas within my bubble too. A lot different and I miss seeing my nieces and nephews, but it’s the way of 2020. Hopefully it won’t be the entire year of 2021. I hope your holidays were fine and your New Year even better! Beautifully wrapped presents, Helen, and what pretty paper. I'm glad you've got a nice long time off work but what a shame not to be able to take full advantage of it by visiting your beloved Kew! Let's hope for better things in the coming year.

Thank you for your visit and your good wishes, and I'm glad you liked my boots!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Well done for the shopping expedition! I have sent most folk either money transfers or vouchers this year! I did miss shopping for presents this year! I hope most folk did follow the rules as I just heard on the news of a high rise in Covid numbers! Take care, Chrisxx
